  • Tribute to Iconic late Dilip Kumar Sahab On his 3rd death anniversary
    #dilipkumar #bbc #interview
Dilip Kumar, born Muhammad Yusuf Khan on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar (now in Pakistan), was a legendary Indian film actor and producer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema. Kumar was known for his exceptional acting skills, particularly in dramatic roles, earning him the nickname "The Tragedy King."
    Early Life and Career
Early Life: Dilip Kumar was born into a Pathan family and moved to Mumbai (then Bombay) in the late 1930s.
Debut: He made his acting debut in the film Jwar Bhata (1944), but it wasn't until his performance in Jugnu (1947) that he gained significant recognition.
    Career Highlights
Breakthrough: His breakthrough came with the film Andaz (1949), where he starred alongside Raj Kapoor and Nargis.
Iconic Films: Some of his most notable films include Devdas (1955), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Ganga Jamuna (1961), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), and Shakti (1982).
Acting Style: Dilip Kumar was known for his naturalistic acting style, which was a departure from the theatrical style prevalent in Indian cinema at the time. His ability to convey deep emotions with subtlety made him a favorite among audiences and critics alike.
    Personal Life
Marriage: He married actress Saira Banu in 1966, who was 22 years younger than him. Their marriage was a symbol of stability in the film industry.
Later Years: Dilip Kumar took a hiatus from acting in the late 1970s but made a comeback with Kranti (1981). He continued to act sporadically until the late 1990s.
    Awards and Honors
National Film Awards: He received several Filmfare Awards, including the Best Actor award multiple times.
Government Honors: The Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He was also awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest award in cinema, in 1994.
    Legacy
Dilip Kumar's contribution to Indian cinema is unparalleled. His performances set new standards for acting in Indian films, and his influence can be seen in the work of many contemporary actors. He passed away on July 7, 2021, leaving behind a rich legacy that continues to inspire generations of filmmakers and actors.

@@aarifboy nonsense, then dilip kumar should have sang for himself or watch his movies muting rafi sahab songs, you will find them worse than ordinary. Rafi Sahab is the only undisputed king, unparalleled crown in the world.

I agree. DK was already a successful actor with Talat Mahmood and Mukesh. And Rafi Saab was already a famous singer at the time of Dulari, Baiju Bhowra, Dillagi etc.

Dilip's first 3 hit movies Jugnu, Shaheed and Nadya k Paar were with Rafi. Mukesh and Talat came later when Dilip was already famous. But both Dilip and Rafi proved later thru Mela, Andaz, Babul, Baiju Bawra and Dulari that they, don't need each other to become hit and famous lol

*The great personality of Mohammad Rafi is above Bollywood and also above Dada Saheb Palke Award.
*The voice of Mohammad Rafi is A School of Acting.
*Dilip Kumar became Dilip Kumar only due to the voice of Mohammad Rafi. Without Mohammad Rafi, Dilip Kumar was/is nothing.

Rafi is India's best male singer but Dilip Kumar is an institution of acting. Both complemented each other but you are forgetting that the great silken Talat Mahmood matched his soft dialog delivery better and was also his equally admired screen voices.

      *Bakwas, Bakwas.*
      1) Dilip Kumar was an average. From Jugnu to his last, he was in Bollywood only due to Mohammad Rafi's voice. Very soon, the people will forget Dilip Kumar. He was a businessman. He changed his name to promot his business.
      2) *Foreign Universities have started to do research work (Phd.) on the voice of Mohammad Rafi. The students have done and doing Phd on "the voice" of Mohammad Rafi. His voice has been recorded by A.I. Future will honour Mohammad Rafi.

@@harbanslalbadhan1587 There is no doubt that Rafi is the greatest voice from modernq India. However, you have a limited understanding of Dilip Kumar. Right from RK to Bachchan to Patekar to SRK to Irfan to Nawazuddin, everybody has learnt the art of natural/ method acting to soak into the character from Dilip Kumar. He invented method acting in Indian films.

      @Sholay48 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@diffbreak2366 I agree with you. There were many actors whose popularity was dependent on Rafi Saab without whom there movies would have flopped. Not DK. DK had the art of acting songs regardless of who the singers were. Madhumati was a great DK film even when he sang 2 Mukesh songs and Yahudi was the same.
