    Your videos are better than any other tv series world wide... No way.... The Oscar goes to... TIBERIU!
    I can feel your emotions when you try to fix the watch... SUPER.

      :) You are right Simone, I had the watch for a couple of days before doing the video and there was a lot of anticipation when doing the video because I didn't know if it would work or not, so I had some emotions :)

    Nice to see a working one 😉 looks like the same module as mine only cleaner.
    As always I liked this video. You can buy a hand pushing tool to put hands back on very cheaply or alternatively you can use the end of a biro ink from the inside of a Bic pen.
    Liked the slow shots near the end of all the parts laid out too.

    Rare at $50 US? Love those watches. Found a gold Model 8981 Ani.Digi.Temp, in the road, in the 80's. Wore it for 7 years, gave it to my younger brother, who wore it another 10, before it gave up the ghost. I loved that watch.

      Yeah but certain years are equivalent to each other so for example in 2020 that will be equivalent to something like '87 or '88 just need to find a chart online to know exactly.

    Hi, great video. i have a the same watch but it doesn't power on. Only the micro light works. seconds don't move and the lcd display is blank. Any suggestions? Would a bad smd cap cause this? I measured the 3 in circuit and i get around 3.3uf on 2 of them but one doesn't give me a reading at all. Did i answer my question? Would appreciate your suggestions.

    Great video, I have a similar watch but my screen is faded, sometimes it works in some modes but most of the time it's unreadable unless it's on an angle. I'm looking to try to swap the smd caps. Would you know which ones I need? Or if you can tell me where I can get the service manual? I really would appreciate it.

    Hi, I have this watch, bought it in 1983 and still works ok apart from second hand sometimes stops (bit like your vid). My watch is fully stainless but has black plastic setting buttons (one missing!) unlike yours which has metal buttons, Ikeep looking for spare buttons but never find any LOL. I have also lost the spring for the alarm but I suppose I could improvise. My question is regarding the age/rarity/value of my watch,any ideas? I am in the uk by the way, I am very impressed with your skill and confidence with working on this watch and highly enjoyed your presentation. I may try to clean the second hand mechanism as you did if I could pluck up the courage LOL

      Hi, the ana digi temps were made in many variations but the insides are basically the same. They do vary in value but they are in the 80 - 150 GBP area, condition will also factor into that. Best of luck and before atteptin this a 20x microscope is essential.

    Hello, amazing job :) I'm struggling with Citizen 8943 disassembly. Do you have any tips how to take out the circuit board ? It must be done from the LCD side probably after removing the analog hands ? Thanks!

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, you have to remove the hands, then unclip the frame that holds the LCD, then you can unscrew the board. Be careful on removing the hands not to crack the LCD as this is the thing that usually people damage first and can be seen in the multitude of bled LCDs found on eBay.

    I used to come across these temp ana digi a lot but they were always broken. Still looking for a working example. Unfortunately they are getting rare in my location. Even my local citizen dealership that replaced the module of my voice memo can't find a screen for my 1990 promaster C090

    Thanks for the advice with the Moebius 9010. I have been looking for something like that for quite a while now. But where did you buy it? On ebay it‘s so expensive. 40€ for 2 ml -> Wow!

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Michael, Yes it is expensive, I found a website that sells smaller quantities (2ml-1ml), not sure if they still have the 9010 but I;m sure there is a replacement. it is: www.leosics.co.uk/moebius-oil-and-grease.html

    • @MyRetroWatches
      @MyRetroWatches 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Michael Reitberger watch oils are expensive however if you are on a budget you can use Moebeus 8000 it’s not synthetic so in theory to would need to apply again within 4-5 years...
      I have experience with mechanicals as it’s the area I feel most confident in fixing , I have my own channel here on TH-cam servicing seiko mechanicals.
      CousinsUk sell 9010 but not much cheaper. One bottle will last you forever though .

    Question, I have a Citizen 8944, which has a octagonal sort of shaped crystal which shattered.
    Do you think I could cut down square glass to fit? It is a rare 30-0322 model.

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know the model, what I have done for 2 watches in my collection is cut a piece of Plexiglas with a craft saw, but if you have a more complicated shape it will require some fine adjustment with a file. If you are going to go this path make sure you protect the Plexiglas with some masking tape on both sides while you cut because it can get easily scratched while you work on it. Glass is hard to cut especially in such small pieces.

    Great video! I have an ana-digi in great condition. Do you know where I can find the micro spring for buzzer contact? It's the only thing missing. I could improvise, but I'd love to get the original part. Thanks!

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Original part only from a donor, if you want to improvise I suggest to avoid the common suggestion of using a spring bar spring because they are really tough. Use a spring removed from a spring loaded test probe, from eBay

    Hi there :) Might be a stupid question, but shouldn't the digital seconds counter lign up with the analog one? When the digital says "00" the analog is on 10 seconds (see 22:30 in the video). And if I am correct, may I ask another question about a watch I received as a gift?

    • @VintageDigitalWatches
      @VintageDigitalWatches  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Niki Drozdowski At one point in the video I mention there is a mode where you can calibrate the analog seconds AND if you watch until the very end of the video yoy can see the analog seconds are in beat with tbe digital ones. See the very last shots of the watch at the end of the video.

    • @NikiDrozdowski

    • @NikiDrozdowski
      @NikiDrozdowski 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since you replied so kindly, I dare to ask my question (although I was wrong ...): A friend of mine gave me a nice anadigi watch, and I opened it and replaced both batteries (one for the analogue part, one for the digital). The analogue part works, but the digital part shows all LCD-fields black - so everything is showing 18:88:88 and all pixels also black. (it's a more modern watch). Is this a common problem with an easy fix or is the digital part just broken?
