This bull has a dramatic history with lions. Another group of lions had chased him earlier, so he resorted to a lake for refuge, but a crocodile caught him from underwater and grabbed his hind leg, but the bull used his strength and dragged the crocodile out of the water and escaped with a broken leg. A week later, this pride of lions found him and ended his torment forever.
THIS IS DEF NOT THE SAME BULL. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE AND HEAR HIS LEG BRAKE WHEN HE STANDS UP. PLUS WHEN HE'S ON THE GROUND YOU CAN SEE HIS BACK LEGS ARE MOVING AROUND JUST FINE. IF HE HAD THAT BAD OF A BREAK YOU WOULD SEE A DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO BACK LEGS. WHEN HE'S ON HIS SIDE FLAILING HIS LEGS AROUND. I MEAN HOW CAN PEOPLE NOT HEAR HIS LEG BREAK IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE BROKE A BASEBALL BAT AGAINST A TREE.
Amazing resilience of the buffalo for surviving a week in the wild with a broken leg. The pain must have been excruciating, however his will to fight to live is unbroken.
thank you for posting this video ,,,an excellent view of lion pride structure and behavior strategies and subtle moves and body language ,,,excellent work .
Is "dark mane of avoca" the name of the lion shown in the thumb nail of this video? This was our first trip to Africa and this event was certainly one of the most thrilling of many moments on our trip. I have googled this lion you named and found some interesting information. Thank you. We want to go back.
Kinda scary how the vehicles are open so the lions can just jump in. Not sure how people inside the vehicle get protection...i'm assuming the guide has a gun...but what if all the lions decide to jump in the vehicles. Sorry if i'm being ignorant, I'm just curious how the people can stay relaxed and how they'll be protected if the lions decide to go after them in an open vehicle.
That's a really good question. The game vehicles are around the animals every day. The animals are accustomed to them and just think they're part of their environment. They know the vehicles won't hurt them, so they just ignore them. They don't really think of them as anything different than another harmless animal or tree or whatever. However, if you break the plane of the shape of the vehicle by sticking your hands out or by getting out of the vehicle, instantaneously it would be a completely different story. So if you stay inside the frame of the vehicle and don't stick your arms out or anything, you're perfectly safe.
Lions don't jump in vehicles. They are intelligent. They usually run from humans but will attack you on foot at night if they assume you are food, but vehicle attacks are rare.
Not one in a thousand cape buffaloes is so fortunate as to die from "natural causes"; and even the ones who are, usually do not die from old age, but from the frailty that is a long-term effect of the manifold fractures (including microscopic bone splinters in heart and lungs) inflicted upon them by lions, crocodiles and - as far as _bulls_ are concerned - by fellow males of their own kind.

Good point. My first video I've ever posted. I only did because it was so cool. If I ever post again, I'll turn the audio down in editing. It is pretty loud.
At this point your battery went dead? So you telling me if they wouldn't have happened, you'd recorded another 30 minutes or so of good edits so we can see the lions eat the whole buffalo? 😒😤 Okay

How are the lions not bothered by the loud vehicles and people??
See reply to @pongdang989 below

The Lion won't to eat. The big bull.
How much do people talk ? They came all the way to witness the power of nature or to talk ? Man!
American tourists just can’t help themselves can they? They just have to be heard over and above everything else.
