Another wonderful video, Marlene! I'd love it if you'd consider doing an indepth video how-to on washing, conditioning and drying both straight and curly wigs.
Hi Cynthia, thank you so much for visiting and the suggestion for future videos. I will certainly start doing soe how-to videos! Thank you!!! xoxo Marlene
WOW THAT WIG!! Stop my heart with that color! Beautiful! Love my collapsible wig stands too.. easy to afford , can go anywhere and won't stretch out the wig! If I had to name a game changing product it would definitely be that steamer!! Great job! XOXO
LOL, yes, that's how felt when I received this color: Stop my heart! It's gorgeous. The video does it no justice. Taz, this color, Cherry Red Mix, is almost an exact duplicate of RW Deepest Ruby. I have a color comparison that I'm working on. Bothe are absolutely gorgeous. Early on, I learned from you that styrofoam wig stands could stretch out the wigs. I neglected to mention that is another plus of these wig stands. Somewhere down the line, I'll get a beautiful wig stand like yours. XOXO
Marlene you are amazing! I love this video it is fantastic and it will be so helpful to so many people!! Thank you for the shout out as well! xoxo eileen
This video is so informative and helpful, especially to a new wig wearer like me. Thank you so much for all your hard work in creating and sharing these for us. 💓😘
Love the wig you are wearing today, Marlene. It is beautiful!! You know I love the ColorWow Root concealor. A tiny bit goes a long way. Learned alot about wigs today. Would you believe up until about 10 years ago, my hair had to be thinned?!? Seeing your thinning shears brought back good memories. Blessings, prayers, and love, my beautiful friend..MaryEllen
Hi MaryEllen! Thank you! I love this wig. Yes, the ColorWow Root concealer is great and really does go a long way. Oh wow, no I didn't know you had to thin your hair. Wishing you, Jim and your family a very Merry Christmas! Love you, my beautiful friend! xoxo marlene
Thanks for mentioning your other channel. I subscribed! Have you ever worn toppers? I need to look back through your old videos. Just curious. I only started wearing helper hair about two months ago and have three toppers plus one on the way that I ordered online. 🤞🏽 I purchased all the others at a wig store. I still have a lot of bio hair - it’s just thinning on top and then there are those lovely gray roots at times - and I am wondering if you ever used toppers instead of wigs. Thanks for all your doing for the community! ❤️
Hi Melanie, Thank you so much for visiting and your support on my channels. No, I have never worn toppers. I have all my hair, but I wear wigs because I love them and changing styles and colors. If you have thinning on top, you probably don't need a large base. I have many friends that wear toppers for the same reason. Trista (Trista's Tresses) has lots of reviews and how-to videos on toppers. Check out her channel; I'm sure you'll get lots of great ideas from her. I hope you're having a wonderful day! xoxo marlene
I got wigs in the past because of thinning hair, but I couldn't get over ALL the hair and couldn't match my color with the synthetic wigs. I got Covid in September and my hair is coming out in hand fulls. You can now see my scalp. I got a HH topper and I really like it till one day I looked in the mirror and there it was, my scalp. I think wigs are in my near future. Thanks for all the tips and tricks I've been watching your videos for awhile now. ((hugs))
Hi Wendy! How are you, beautiful? Thank you so much for visiting! Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that you had Covid! I've heard many ladies in our private FB group talk about hair loss due to Covid. Yes, I know you've been watching. I think we met over on my beauty channel. Thank you so much for visiting me here! xoxo Hugs!
Hi Jackie! Thank you so much for visiting! Im so happy you found my video helpful! A very Merry Christmas to you and your family, my friend! xoxo Marlene
Hi Sarah, yes! Steam to combat the crunchies. I don't know how to style with curling iron so I use a steamer on all my wigs and flat iron on my straight ones (along with steam). The steamer is the only way I've found to keep the styles on my curly HD without disturbing the curls. xoxo
I'm loving Drive on you. Love the color. Great, thorough video, with all the essentials that you could use. One day I will take the plunge. Lol. So many beautiful wigs to choose from. My haircut is similar to Drive. And I have auburn hair. But Drive is prettier. Lol. Love you beautiful!💜
Hi Mary, Thank you so much for visiting. When I read your comment, I went over to the website to see what I could find. I found 3 from Ellen Wille with no lace front but they didn't have a mono top or even a side mono. The other brand that I know of that has full mono and no lace front is Amore, but the styles are a bit shorter by an inch or two than my Drive. I contacted support at wigstudio1 and asked the support team if they could find some styles for me. As soon as I hear back, I will let you know. If you want to know the styles I found, let me know. xoxo Marlene
Hi Marlene. Thank you for this video. Extremely helpful. Do you think the Sea Salt Spray will work to give waves/curls to a stick straight wig that was not supposed to be stick straight? I ordered MacKenzie expecting those soft curls/waves they advertise and got a completely straight wig. Very disappointing, and it is not heat friendly so I cannot use a hot curling tool on it. Thanjs for your insights Shelly
Hi Shelly, thank you so much for stopping by. I'm so happy that you found my video helpful. You're right, Mackenzie is not supposed to be stick straight. There are a few things you can try before making a purchased. Since this is not a heat friendly, you can give her a soak in cool water for about 20 minutes, wrap in a towel to remove excess water, then when you hang to dry, add some curlers. Leave them on overnight so the hair dries with the curlers. Once you remove the curlers, hang her upside down for a couple of hours. Her curls waves should come back. The sea salt should help. I haven't tried it to bring curls back on a straight wig, but according to Estetica, it can be done. Here's their video where they demonstrate on various wigs: th-cam.com/video/OPKqo8rjMaE/w-d-xo.html Let me know if any of this works! xoxo Marlene
Just subscribed to your channel...ít came on my feed(probably from Tax's channel)..I just recently bought a topper(synthetic) since my hair is thinning so bad...have been binge watching all of you who take your time to help us newbies learn...I know I will be purchasing a wig next and love to watch the reviews..very helpful...would also love for y'all to do more videos on styling and maintenance ...I would like to know what to do when the fibers start clumping together or is this going to happen regardless..Also is the sea salt spray helpful with the non curly wigs...These tips were very helpful...Thank you
Hi R, thank you so much for visiting and your support! I'm so happy to hear that our reviews are helpful. I will certainly record a video on how to care for both synthetic and heat friendly fibers. I'll try and record that this week. I use the Sea Salt spray on my non-curly wigs to give them that piecey look (more texture). I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday! xoxo Marlene
I have got to try that JR detangling spray! The question is, does it loosen up those little spiral curly cues that happens to some of the fibers? I usually just end up cutting those off because I find these are what the other fibers get caught in and if I don’t get rid of them it can go from bad to worse faster 😳
Hi Suzanne! I use the detangling spray on all my wigs including my curly ones. I start by spraying the nape and detangling that area then gently run the comb through the rest. I use my fingers if it's too curly and just spray a bit of the detangler where needed. Have you tried the bamboo silicone conditioner?
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio Hi Marlene! No, I haven’t tried a bamboo conditioner. Who makes it? INTERESTED! When I mentioned the (tiny) curly cues, I was actually referring to single strands that get accidentally pulled too much; kind of like when you pull scissors across curling ribbon. It happens to either straight or curly wig fibers. These are what the other fibers get caught up in. It’s usually just one or two fibers that I will cut out. Then the others don’t get caught in them. I think it makes the wig last longer. 😉 Perhaps I’m the only person who does this. My OCD🥸
Suzanne, I get it on Amazon. If you go to my description box, expand it where it says show more, I have it linked (My Amazon Store). It's called Bamboo Silicone Conditioner. I use Jon Renau Smooth Detangler on the nape every night to prevent the fibers from curling. That happens when they're pulled. After I spray the nape, I comb with a wide tooth comb. Then I go through the rest of the hair without adding more products unless I come across a tangle then just a small spritz. To finish off, I use Estetica Revitalize and Shine. No more curling fibers :-)
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio WOW! Thanks so much for the great tip! I will definitely be trying it out! So glad I came across your channel. I am 66 and totally into long hair and all the fabulous new colors!! You’re an inspiration! So I’m looking at your store…..just want to make sure I order the correct one. Is it the Bamboo mix stuff in the little white tub? At the top?
Hey Marline, I'm a year late but PLEASe reply to me! I just received a JR stearner, second hand, but unfortunately it can't be used as it came without the plastic nozzle. I'm so upset! Can you please suggest an alternative? I don't know the material fr wjjhxbi
Hey beautiful, I'm so sorry this happened. You can get a clothes steamer which are inexpensive and available pretty much anywhere. They don't have a nozzle, but they work perfectly fine on the ends. If you need to use the steamer to train the fibers off the face, be sure to protect the lace with a towel or even paper. Use the 3 second rule: 3 seconds steam and 3 seconds off. Keep me posted! xoxo
