I really knew what was the reason and it was quite simple to understand cuz the fact that kattappa character was bound to throne i had a feeling the king (Rana) asked him to kill him. And IDK WHY PEOPLE WERE THAT CONFUSED TO UNDERSTAND THAT SIMPLE LOGIC AND THEY CALL ME LIER IF I SAID THIS IRL TO SOMEONE LIKE FUCK?

Telugu is the original version of RRR and Baahubali. SS Rajamouli is the director of both Baahubali and RRR. It's almost like a magic don't how it got worked but Baahubali is full of goosebumps
2:30 - People apparently complained a lot that he didn't take a running start before the jump there, so "of couse" he didn't make it. And that is at least part of the reason why in the beginning of RRR they took a motorcycle and a horse to get a LOT of running start before jumping off the bridge. Basically Rajamouli saying: "You're satisfied now? Was that enough momentum for you, now?"

This entire film is inspired by the Hindu religious book Mahabharata.
Kattappa's character and politics everything Kattappa's character is inspired by Bhishma Pitamah of Mahabharata (Hindu Religion).
Mahabharata is not just a religious book, at 200,000 lines long (1.8 Million words), it is the longest poem ever written in human history. And is around 2,500 years old.
The character of Kattappa is very interesting in this film, he is a character inspired by the Mahabharata of Hindu religion.
Whose name was Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharata, he had taken an unbroken oath that he would serve the throne till his death.
He followed the throne's orders at all costs, even if he knew that he was supporting the wrong side, he still followed the throne's orders.

The king of Indian cinema prabhas anna 🙏🙏
Basically, Kattapa wants to free Devasena. But, he doesn't know it's Bahubali who is freeing her that night. He assumed that he's one of the people from the tribe that wants to rescue Devasena. And, Kattapa knows that even if the tribe is somehow able to free her, they wouldn't be able to hide for a long time as the evil King Bhallaladeva would find them and kill them all just like he burnt their entire kingdom to ashes once before and only a few were able to flee then.
So, he doesn't trust anyone to free Devasena and keep her safe from the king. Because, the king is so madly obssesed with her and would go to any limits to capture her again and torture everyone involved in the rescue to teach them lesson.
But yeah, first time watching part 1 of the movie series, you might get confused about it and find it not making sense.

Bahubal 2 And Salaar Part 1 (Sams Actor) 🔥
The character of Kattappa is a tragic one. He (and all of his family for generations) is honor bound to absolute loyalty to the throne and ANYONE who sits on it, no matter if he agrees with them or not. That's why on one hand, he WANTS the mother to be free, but on the other hand does everything to STOP that from happening, because he was ordered to. A dilemma not unlike Ram in RRR.
"3 idiots" also good movie.....❤

I would highly recommend you to watch 3 IDIOTS movie after completing the second baahubali film . Indian cinema has a lot to offer in terms of filmmaking and storytelling ideas . To just give you an idea , at NATIONAL FILM AWARDS CEREMONY this year , the 2 most successful movies were RRR and SARDAR UDHAM . The subject matter of both movies is the same i.e. taking down imperialism BUT the execution is completely different. On one hand we have RRR , that is an over the top , extravagant and dramatic film , on the other hand , SARDAR UDHAM was very raw , realistic and grounded film , very similar to ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT . Both movies are equally respected ( atleast for me ) , that's INDIAN CINEMA for you .
If I remember, the main King have 2 children. There are two brothers, the elder one is handicapped, the younger one is made the king of Mahishmati because he had a kind heart. The King (who is the younger brother) passed, his wife gave birth to Amrendra Bahubali but died after giving birth, the older brother who is handicapped has a wife called Shivgami, she protects the throne from any outsider or non royal blood trying to grab the seat of the king after the death of the king, godmother shivgami has a son called Bhalaldev(who is power hungry), but she says both the babies are now my sons, and both have the right to become the king.

In the second generation, Amrendra Bahubali married a princes called Devsena, the son of Amrendra Bahubali is called Mahendra bahubali who looks exactly like him, there have been many movies in india with that weird concept that both the father and the son are played by the same actor😅. The Son of Bhalaldev (Amrendra's cousin) is called Bhadraa (who's head goes on a toss 🧔🏻♂). Kattappa who works for the king or the godmother is called uncle by Amrendra Bahubali and becomes like a godfather to Mahendra Bahubali.

But in this bahubali universe, the royal blood has god like powers. theater experience is important for this film

My suggestion :
Better watch it in original language which is a TELUGU language...so that you can feel the originality in the movie or base voices of the actors...Check the Languages once(it might be have Telugu , Hindi , Kannada , Malayalam , Tamil)...it would have multiple indian languages there you can select Telugu or any other language movie respectively... select their language when it is from their language movie...

Yeah I didn't love that scene either... you can probably tell lol
I never understood why in a movie that has characters like sivagami with badass scenes and dialogues like "This is my word and my word is law" would they have such a creepy almost misogynistic scene.
Then I saw a comment somewhere mention that shivdu has been brought up by tribals. He doesn't completely understand and abide by virtues like his dad (who grew up as a royal) and doesnt know how to express love. I mean the guy literally hits a shivling ( that black rock his mom was pouring water on). That's straight up blasphemy (although blasphemy isn't a thing in hinduism but still it'swrong). It's a stark contrast to how his father is.
And the reason avantika fell for him was not because of his antics but because along the way she accepted what she had already known before. That being a warrior and rescuing devsena wasn't all there was to her life. She was more, a normal woman. This trope has been used a lot for guys, bahubali was the first time I saw it being used for a female character.
Doesn't make the scene less weird but I can understand why it's in the movie now.
