I've said it once and I will say it again, if your engine isn't burning oil then you're not driving it hard enough. Go on a road trip and drive full throttle for extended period of time, you will easily go through 1-2 quarts of oil 100%. It doesn't matter if the engine is brand new, oil control rings don't work at 100% efficiency, and said efficiency falls off a cliff the higher in RPMs you go.

The B58 engine in that BMW was codeveloped with Toyota for use in the Supra, to the extent they were testing parts in Japan and sending them back for redesign if they didn't meet their standards. In my couple years working for BMW I've yet to see one have anything more than a coolant or oil leak and have seen plenty well over 100k already, the B58 is the best motor BMW has made since the old NA straight 6s by a huge margin. Don't believe me? BMW's famously have horrible resale value but you can't get anything with a B58 for less than 20-30k...

That VW warranty might not save you unfortunately. I had it on my 2012 beetle turbo withe the 2.0t engine and when the extended the warranty kicked in I had a coolant line blow and they wouldn't cover it . They also wouldn't cover the labor on coil replacement, the bad vacuum pump, and the bad gas cap. Also they make you pay $100 deductible once you start using the extended warranty.

The B58 engine in that BMW was codeveloped with Toyota for use in the Supra, to the extent they were testing parts in Japan and sending them back for redesign if they didn't meet their standards. I work for BMW and have seen plenty over 150k without having the motor opened up, it's still a BMW it will need a coolant system overhaul at some point and you'll have to fix some oil leaks but truly those motors are damn reliable for a straight 6 making 400 horsepower stock. My first car was a 63 Beetle. I think that they sold them new back then for about $500. Had a canvas sun roof. Great college car back in the 70s. Bright red. 36 HP. The clutch started to go, so I asked a bunch of guys to come over to help me fix it. We detached the engine in the back and then lifted the back of the car up and over the engine. What you do when you don't have a car lift...

I now have a 2016 Seat leon Cupra 290 which is practically a Mk7 Golf R but in a different bodyshell with the same engine as the Mk7 Golf R engine detuned to 290bhp. Only reason i didn't get another Golf was i prefer the leon Cupra & its better than a Mk7 Golf GTi & costs less than a Golf R.

Whatever we are paying for ends up being a scam either way. All those plastic car parts have a very low shipping weight and it's probably made from recycled garbage. If you shop from the freezer section all that food and meat has a lot of sodium added to it so it will hold a lot of extra water that has a very high shipping rate. With prices going way up were paying more to buy garbage and salt water. So we have to do what we are doing now, buy used cars and fresh food
