    Right now I’m running 285s, but once these wear down I definitely want to go a little bit taller so I’ll actually go with 255/80s to get a true 33. Yes, they won’t have the same width as a 295, being 1.6 inches narrower, but it’s less strain on the drivetrain, on the steering components, less weight, so slightly better gas mileage. The additional benefit is that in an AT3 It gives better performance in snow.

    Excellent video man. Would I have to regear with a V8? I have an 08 sport 4x4 on stock wheel and tire size. Also did you replace the roof rack? The sport editions usually come with like a tubular roof rack and that looks like one on the SR5.

    • @Garrett_Logan
      @Garrett_Logan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Honestly I’m not 100% sure. It depends on what you plan on doing to your truck. If you want to go with 295’s and that’s it then I would say no, I think you might even be okay adding a metal bumper on top of the 295’s, however a lot of guys that run those size tires and add front and rear bumpers end up regearing anyway. My v6 does okay with 295’s and a bumper but I can tell that a regear would definitely help and make a difference because my pedal feels kinda mushy. Obviously if you have a v8 then those issues wouldn’t be as bad because you’d have the low end torque

    I’m about to get the exact same wheel & tire combo you have. I know I definitely have to trim the fenders & liners, pinch welds and body mounts… is the 1” body lift needed before I put the 295s on? Or can it wait till later? There is crappy 3” Daystar spacer lift on the truck already. (I know…. I’ll be switching to the same 6112/5160 set up) You and I are basically building the same rigs. You are just WAY farther along than me. I can’t thank you enough for these videos!! 🙏🏻

    Did you have any issues with cv axles in front? Mine are getting maxed out at 4 inches any recommendations?

    • @Garrett_Logan
      @Garrett_Logan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I don’t have any issues, my wheel bearings went out because they hadn’t been changed since before I got the truck so I changed the cv’s too. You probably shouldn’t go over 3.5” because of the cv angle but you might be able to look into getting a diff drop kit (they’re cheap) and that should improve your cv angle some.
      My recommendation is to go with a 3.5” lift and then if you want it higher then add a 1-2” body lift. I have a 1” body lift on now (that video drops tomorrow)
