Right now I’m running 285s, but once these wear down I definitely want to go a little bit taller so I’ll actually go with 255/80s to get a true 33. Yes, they won’t have the same width as a 295, being 1.6 inches narrower, but it’s less strain on the drivetrain, on the steering components, less weight, so slightly better gas mileage. The additional benefit is that in an AT3 It gives better performance in snow.

I wish My 2006 Sport v8 looked like this hahah just ko2s and stock everything else so still soccer mom ish :( Unreal looking great job! Wheel color looks awesome on the black sport and so do those insanely aggressive tires. COol to hear they are really quiet still. Mine is that dark greyish black colour whatever its called. I added those and unfortunately with the sun behind you, the turn signal can be hard to see. I was getting some negative feedback from people behind me so I added an LED light strip between the tailgate and the bumper, it's hardly noticeable and even has an extra white backup light!

get 315s if you got the v8, only a little bit more trimming than the 295, no tubbing of firewall and no regear needed i have a v8 4th gen with 35s and i still tow with it on stock gears

Haha! Thanks man! The 6112’s are great! The only thing I would do differently is get a heavier load spring in the front. The pre assembled ones have too low of a spring rating for my build so the front sags down too much

Thanks man! It’s an 05 and it has right at about 208k miles. I paid 8k for it, generally I was finding that anything under 7k-ish wasn’t very good. Yeah some of them have pretty high miles, I would’ve still bought one if it had 230k and especially if it was well maintained. I personally knew I would take this truck on a lot of trips so that’s why I wanted something that was right at 200k
i love this generation since the 4.7 is a available and i do own a 2005 with that V8 but im selling her because its 2wd and im likely getting a 5th gen trd off road but another V8 4th gen this time in 4wd is also temping and about half the price for a nice one

Honestly I’d probably say the same man lol. They’ve gotten a little louder since I put some miles on them. It’s not too loud but you’ll notice it if you’re paying attention

Thanks! Honestly I’m not 100% sure. It depends on what you plan on doing to your truck. If you want to go with 295’s and that’s it then I would say no, I think you might even be okay adding a metal bumper on top of the 295’s, however a lot of guys that run those size tires and add front and rear bumpers end up regearing anyway. My v6 does okay with 295’s and a bumper but I can tell that a regear would definitely help and make a difference because my pedal feels kinda mushy. Obviously if you have a v8 then those issues wouldn’t be as bad because you’d have the low end torque
I’m about to get the exact same wheel & tire combo you have. I know I definitely have to trim the fenders & liners, pinch welds and body mounts… is the 1” body lift needed before I put the 295s on? Or can it wait till later? There is crappy 3” Daystar spacer lift on the truck already. (I know…. I’ll be switching to the same 6112/5160 set up) You and I are basically building the same rigs. You are just WAY farther along than me. I can’t thank you enough for these videos!! 🙏🏻
Sweet man! You definitely don’t have to do the body lift first, they’ll fat after you do some trimming and chop the body mounts👍🏿 I’m glad these videos help man!!!
Thanks man! I personally have 1.25” spacers so I might recommend that but the more offset you have the more you’ll rub. 1.25 gives a pretty good stance👍🏾
No I don’t have any issues, my wheel bearings went out because they hadn’t been changed since before I got the truck so I changed the cv’s too. You probably shouldn’t go over 3.5” because of the cv angle but you might be able to look into getting a diff drop kit (they’re cheap) and that should improve your cv angle some. My recommendation is to go with a 3.5” lift and then if you want it higher then add a 1-2” body lift. I have a 1” body lift on now (that video drops tomorrow)

If you’re going to run a front bumper honestly these springs are too soft, I’d recommend a heavier load spring. I just added a bumper and the front sags down a good amount.

@@Garrett_Logan ok thanks so much that helps a lot I already have a dif drop but haven’t put on and my costal off-road metal bumper will go on the front so I will adjust my bilstiens higher. I will look into body lifts but not sure how much work it is
@@jckickx8075 no problem! I’m putting the install video out tomorrow but I’d say a body lift is about a 4 or 5 out of 10 in terms of difficulty to install

Stock springs in the front?
No they’re Bilstein springs. They’re the ones that come on the assembled Bilstein kit
If you’re going to run a front bumper honestly these springs are too soft, I’d recommend a heavier load spring. I just added a bumper and the front sags down a good amount.
