Fun fact: This is Bjork's favorite Kate Bush album.
The Dreaming is Kate at her most outlandish and eccentric, and that's why I love that album so much. Sat In Your Lap is a helluva opening track, one of her boldest songs.
Kate really is like no one else.

Nice reaction video! Kate Bush took charge of all her music and her videos. An immensely creative and visionary woman far ahead of her time. Thank you for the video! :)

I love that you reacted to Sat in Your Lap. Taken from The Dreaming album, which Kate herself has referred to as her "I've-gone-mad" album. For me, it's her all-time best album.

Epic and relatable is the perfect way to put it
This was Kate's first album as producer and it shows her individualty in reflecting her vibrant soul. The lyrics are stellar and the music really invigorated her meaning. One of my favorite albums. Thank you for more of Kate

That's why I love her! Her songs are all so unique. Not just love songs. She even sings about just washing clothes, or pi, dead soldiers, uranium, pregnancy, gay love etc.

Adore this track, it has to be one of my favourite singles she has produced. She declared the entire "The Dreaming" album that this track came from as her "She's gone mad album" and to "play it LOUD!" but it's totally epic and the last track on it Get out of my House is EPIC! Great track, great album, great artist, great reaction!

Get Out Of My House is my 2nd favourite Kate Bush song. Utterly bonkers in the best possible way.

Yes, "Get Out of My House" is a far wilder vocal performance than this. Check it out, PMD!

This song is so strange and powerful. She is alluding to different categories of knowledge, the mundane 'parroting' back of information, gaining inner wisdom, and by the end of the song, mystical knowledge.
And music delivered like a series of shocks and vocals shrieking and soaring across ridiculous intervals. Genius...

So glad you enjoyed this. It is certainly one of her maddest songs and videos. But the lyrics are so great, and Kate is such a wild woman in this! LOVE it!

Nice job. Kate was 23yrs or so at the time of recording, with full creative control and her own studio at her fingertips for the very first time. Very impressive for someone so young, but not so surprising given how she proved herself over time to be a phenomenon, unequaled since. It's a favorite, that album, The Dreaming.

What an underrated song! Hearing it for the first time 15 years old I had never heard anything similar before. The Dreaming opened up a whole new world to me. Thank you for this reaction! Your eyes where everywhere the first minute hahaha =)

The things Kate Bush does with her voice on this album! The epic lyrics together with the driving tribal savagery of the music makes this one of Kate Bush’s most idiosyncratic songs … and that’s really saying something. The sentiment of wanting it all returns later in THE DREAMING album with “Suspended in Gaffa”.My favourite KB album (after THIS SENSUAL WORLD, of course).

    "the wildest vocal performance"
you should check out these two songs
    "leave it open"
    and
    "get out of my house"

Ah, The Dreaming... what an incredible album. I really think you should do yourself a favour and listen to it from start to finish at some point. The music is experimental, bizarre, and utterly unique even after all these years... whereas I think the music videos from that era are fine, they're definitely more dated than the album itself, which is timeless.
It's still amazing to me to think that she produced this only four years after her debut, and right before Hounds of Love. Hard to think of many artists who've changed artistically by such leaps and bounds as Kate Bush.

I've been a fan of Kate's since she appeared on SNL way back in the late '70s but I never understood her love of mime dancing, it just seems silly to me. Her music is always great though. Her video for 'The Big Sky' is also big production with lots of percussion.

Now you need to listen to Kate's song Ne t'enfuis pas, one of her best underrated songs ever. It might have some of the most beautiful lyrics I've heard.

What makes this track great is the jumps between common and complex time signatures. Is it 4:4 or 3:4 or 6:8 or all of the above?

You should try Get Out of My House, from the same amazing album (also my favorite of hers, by far.).
