Whoa Nelley, it's a van, so thank you man. This is a Dodge Tradesman 200 (3/4 ton). We got the VIN, we win: B2 for B Series Van, 3/4 ton rated, 1 for Compact Van (Tradesman), B for 6,001 to 10,000 # Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, E for 318 V8 with two barrel, 8 for 1978 model year, X for Missouri Truck Assembly (St. Louis, MO/Fenton, MO) assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Fenton plant complex operated from 1959 to 2009 and was the main minivan plant for a time. From 1974-2003, B Series vans were also assembled at Pillette Road, in Windsor Ontario Canada. This one was assembled on Sunday May 21, 1978. No tag, can't brag, but this should be code DT2245 Chrome Yellow exterior paint. Yes, vans were all the rage back in the day and yes, Realistic was a Radio Shack brand who was owned by Tandy at the time. Radio Shack is pretty much a goner but was the place for the home enthusiast to do electronic projects and the like. You featured a Chevrolet Malibu that I believe was a Tandy corporate car at one time. The 318 V8 was a solid engine but was saddled with poor carburetion and ignition and that made for some pesky starting and stalling on many 1970s Chrysler products. Whoa Nelly, 1978 and soon to meet the final fate. That's it, time to quit. Dodge van ready for the trash can. Made in MO and gotta go. VIN code "X" is a big mess. Going to be flat and that's that. Dodge should have been kept in the garage. Equipped with parts from Tandy and used to be fine and dandy. Going to get squished and the Pentastar faithful, many here, UTG for sure, maybe Benny, but neutral for the Google Man if he's going to be pissed.
