    Stephanie, you are such a good instructor! I have been beading for four years and I have never seen such a good tutorial on how to crimp and also putting on the crimp bead. I'm going to try the 6/0 version too but I'm just so happy I finally managed to do a crimp by myself (After 4 years, mind you) I really enjoy watching you and learning from you. I made this lariat necklace and I love it so much. Thank you for what you do.

    I think a big part of your success is your eye for sophisticated color combinations. So many beading tutorials I see remind me of plastic beads in bright colors like Christmas colors.

    G'Day My Lovely, Turned my computer on late this afternoon and discovered that you had posted this wonderful video. I wasn't expecting one from you so it was a lovely surprise and I might add that it is fantastic. The whole concept of the Lariat is very chic. The idea of the one using pearls is just heaven to me, as you know I have a love of pearls.....I love the creamy colour and gorgeous sheen that they are renown for. The Blue Turquoise Picasso one has a very casual feel and would go with anything you wear. Just as I love pearls, I love Turquoise.......I find it very spiritual and calming and it's the only time that I really like silver. I prefer gold but it doesn't go with Turquoise. I love the tassels and I prefer them to the thread ones that are normally used. You could make them with any type of Beads and I love the incorporation of your beautiful Beaded Bead along with that delightful Crimp Bead Covers. I thought that at first, it was a silver Bead. Clever idea to hide those little crimps with Beads. I am glad that you posted this afternoon as I was having brain freezing moments with one of my competition pieces. Listening to your calming voice albeit a little husky kept my blood pressure down. Speaking of your husky voice I hope that you are well and truly on the road to recovery. As we have just past the Autumn Solstice and therefore the Sun has now departed our neck of the woods and is now holidaying with you lucky Northerners for the next 6 months. Soon you will be thawing out and warming up with Spring just around the corner and then lots of long hot Summer Days and you could start to get your bikini's ready. We are already starting to feel the cooling fingers of the approaching Winter. Not as freezing as it gets where you live but you can feel it in your bones at times or more so I guess as now at my age maybe that's what it seems. After digressing a little, I was going to say that after my afternoon of fighting with my Beads that I am going to put it away for a couple of days and start my other piece, I find that this helps to clear those nasty cobwebs that like to clog up my little grey cells creative zone. I detest it when you have that light globe moment and it seems fantastic and totally creative only to have your hands having different ideas and won't cooperate in performing your creative designs. This will be a short novel as the first chance I had to scribe was after tea (dinner) and now it's getting late and heading towards my bed time so, I will say "Good Night" and "Good Morning" to you, my little Polar Bear and I will chat soon........Blessings XXXXXXXXXXXXXOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning my dear Chris! I am enjoying your novella and my very much needed cup of coffee this late morning! Thank you sweetie! This piece is very casual but I see it in dressy form with pearls, crystals and several different bead sizes to give interest to the tassel and the necklace. Like you, my little grey cells are working overtime but the hands are tired and a little achy LOL :) Setting things aside always helps me clear my head so I can tackle the next design!!! Playing with beading wire has been a nice change at the moment! I am a bead weaver at heart but a little change of pace helps me clear out the beady cobwebs. I have been enjoying the summer vicariously through you these past few months Chris - thank you for helping this sun and heat lover through another New England winter. Actually it hasn't been a particularly severe winter but I am still ready for Spring! We had an April Fool's Day snow storm that has already melted and now the rains come. I am on the mend from the nasty flu (lots of lemon, tea and honey as you prescribed for an earlier bout), thank you! Our entire house has been sick most of the winter with some sort of cold or flu. Today, I take the day off and catch up on some much needed cleaning and food shopping! Maybe a little retail therapy as well haha!!! No bikini's for this beach loving beader - lol but I am looking forward to long hazy days by the ocean (fully covered) haha. Take care, stay well...love and good health to you and your familyXOXOXO

    • @chrisphillips1893
      @chrisphillips1893 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mentioned that your Winter has been a mild one, well our Summer here has also been a little weird. A little trip down the old Geography Path will help to simplify it. The land of OZ is a place of large deserts but down the Eastern Coast, from the top at Cape York Peninsular down to the Southern Coastal region of the Continent. There is a great Mountain range the runs down most of the East Coast and is called in general..."The Great Dividing Range". This causes a barrier between coastal and inland regions. Here in Victoria ("map reference time" this will help to see what I mean) most of the population live "South" of the Divide and the rest live on the "Northern" side. Now that the scene is set, it will now be easier to understand about the weirdness of our weather. We here south of the divide although, we were in Summer mode had very little "hot, dry and humid conditions. There were 4 to 5 days when it was like a very pleasant Spring day.....temps in the high teens and low twenties. All up our air conditioner was hardly used. Some nights we even slept under our doona!! Heat waves we did not have but those North of the Divide and throughout NSW, Queensland, SA and WA (there's a little pop quiz for you, see if you can name the States in Capital letters) they were experiencing severe heat waves, droughts and all the fury that an abusive Summer can wield. Record breaking temperatures as well as heat waves. It was said to be the worse Summer that we have experienced in recorded history of Weather. Even now some of those places, like along the Murray River (another pop quiz, see what you can find out about the River) up till about a week ago were still experiencing 0ver 30-degree heat......and we are in Autumn! I grew up with weather conditions such as my Northern Dividers have been experiencing over the last few years but where I hail from, that's right my lovely another pop quiz (it's like being back in school lol) the Mornington Peninsular. Here's a clue..........one side if it is on a bay and the other also is on a bay and the Southern most part has an Ocean view, have been in the warm to mild hot with a dollop of very hot days thrown in by Nature to reminds us that we live in the great land of Sun, Surf and Summer fun. As I follow your time zone by my international clock, I can also check your weather conditions and I was a little surprised to see how mild your Winter has been albeit the temperatures have been very cold indeed. Your mild cold days are what we would call freezing and we do experience some snow regions in the Divide. We are a funny little State and it is said that we (here in the populous region of the suburbs) can live through "four seasons" in one day! Some days I feel that I should be toting a case full of four seasonal outfits just to stay comfortable until Jimmie Jam time (bed attire) at night! Lol. Here's another map reference for you to look up........a place called Seaford, Vic and that my lovely is where you will find ME!!!! Chat soon in the next novel on your up and coming video, my little polar bear, you can start coming out of hibernation and bask in the growing warmth of the golden healing rays of the sun and keep up with the honey.....it's Nature's cure for the nasty Winter ills........ keep well.

      Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry sorry, my english is not good! I saw larger pearls (even 2-3 cm in diameter) covered with beads and they had patterns such as diamonds, stripes and even roses. I wondered if there is a "method" to calculate the increases and decreases to cover the sphere.

    Stephanie, I love your work. It is all beautiful. I have a question about the 3mm sliver plated beads. I have had a hard time finding these beads that do no tarnish or turn black. Do you ever have this problem and if not where do you find the ones that do not turn. Thank you for your help and Happy New Year.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Carole Russom Thank you Carole 🙏🌻😃 I buy the 3mm silver plated beads from Fusion Beads. They haven’t tarnished yet but I would suggest you search for sterling silver beads that are tarnish proof. They are coated so they won’t tarnish. I’ll look around as well and see where we can find them 🌺

      Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry donuts just strung beads with a tassel on each end? Do you tie them together? Or just wrap around your neck? Sorry I don’t see any other explanation on this video.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around time stamp 38:00 I have finished the tassel and I start stringing the Lariat part. You complete that and repeat at the other end. The Lariat ties in the front or doubles around your neck. It’s a long necklace with a tassel at each end. I hope this helps 🌻

    Beautiful but I have a question, what wire would you recommend for a heavier necklace like a men's one?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Martha Adams Thank you Martha🌻😃🙏 I think this gauge wire is fine for heavier beads. You could go to a medium weight wire .019mm maybe.

    I like the idea of the 6/0 instead of the cover, but how would you get the other end on?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I show on the video how to do the other end. It is right before the final look at the necklaces. The necklace is made end to end so you make the first tassel, string your beads and then attach the other 6/0 bead after you have strung your length. Add the crimp and 3mm, beaded bead and the 8/0. Come back up and tighten. Make the crimp and pass the 6/0 over the crimp.

    • @patdenning2239
      @patdenning2239 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I did see the end, but maybe I'm over thinking it. Wouldn't you need to have some slack in your strung portion in order to have the 6/0 on before you put in over the crimp?

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pat Denning The 6/0 will slide over the crimp once it is shaped to fit, leaving a small space that will be taken up by the length of the necklace. It is a tight fit while shaping the crimp but doable. Hope this helps. It worked on my sample so give it a try (maybe on a scrap piece of wire if you are concerned) and see if it works for you🌻

      Sandra McCormick Thanks Sandra😃 You can find the 11/0's on TamaraScottDesigns website or at her Etsy shop. You can also try Artbeads, Beadaholique, Aura Crystals and Beads. Often Tamara Scott Designs has colors you don't normally find on most big websites.
