- Thank you for watching my smoked burger on a pellet smoker video. On this video, I smoked up a 1/2 pound burger from 1855 meat company on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker. If you have never had a pellet smoked burger cooked on a pellet smoker, you're missing out. I used Smokin' Pecan pellets on my Yoder YS640 pellet smoker and I highly recommend you give them a try for an amazing smoke flavor.

Another mouthwatering video! These look next level 🙌
The best pellets made! I’ve got 7 grills and these work the best. Exact way I do them. Excellent brother!
Those look awesome Joe , great job as always! Cheers 🍻
I raise my own beef, so no 1855 for me. However, I have smoked burgers on my pellet smoker and we really enjoy them. Thanks.
Oh my god I've gotta try this! Your videos are inspiring Joe, thanks!
Congrats on making the New and Improved top 25 Texas Monthly list!
Looks delicious Joe I love my pellet smoker I use it for everything it’s quick and easy for weeknight meals or a brisket
When you first showed us the Smokin Pecan Pellets, I ordered some. Best Pellets for flavor, smoke at higher Temps! I'm 3 orders of 20# each box this summer! Their customer service is also awesome! Now I got to try the Burgers. Thanks Joe. Jim from Napa CA
Looks fantastic mate! Love your channel
Looks like Sunday dinner. I like the way you season the patties. Sweet cutting board.
That things looks awesome! Compact and juicy 👏
Nice video. I have been doing smoked burgers for 20 years. Done them on a barrel smoker with charcoal and hickory chips, on a vertical smoker as well as a pellet smoker. I get rave reviews for my burgers. I mix them with my rib rub and go for about an hour but I don't flip them, and don't need to.
That looks awesome. I have to make those this summer.
I tried the "Burgers are ready when they look ready" 3 nights ago. Temped them when I got them inside. 130 degrees. I lost my mind. They were in the weber for over 45 mins with a sear at the end. Great vid brother.
Great looking burger. Cheers, Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
I shouldn’t have watched this before my lunch break!
Fr
I haven't eaten yet today and that burger has me drooling. I like smoking my burgers as the flavor really enhances the whole reason for having burgers.👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the great video Joe! I haven't smoked any burgers on my pellet grill, but I plan to real soon! I could almost taste those burgers you made! They looked delicious with a great smoked ring!
I only own a pellet smoker. Traeger Rocks!! I love it!! I seriously want to drive to Texas to eat at your Food Truck!! Looks delicious!! 😀👊
Hey Joe do a future vid on pellet smoked ribs, pork chops, and fish please. I definitely would love to see how that comes out. I'm now considering buying myself a pellet smoker for my cooking. I do love to bbq every weekend at home with my family and friends and my dogs. 😁
Looks delicious!
Loved it❤
Be one of the first things I make when I get my new Traeger in a week!...Thanks Smokin Joe!
Gorgeous burger, and definitely looks like high quality beef! That smoke ring makes me want a Yoder😊
Thank you Bobbi ❤️👍
"Burgers are ready - when they are ready" ... best quote of the day. Looks delicious. I am trying to understand why many tell me pellet smokers are a joke. It's a great add-on if you want to do something quickly.
Honestly, just got one and it barely produces smoke over 200*F idk - imho I’ll never use it for anything but actual smoking.
I followed this with 4x Picanha that i grinded, 70-30% i love fat haha.
My friends and family of 18ppl loved it! Made them 200g each, 29 patties total, and they flew away. These were so tender, soft and juicy 😋 with an beautiful smoke ring from the pellet smoker, so i do not understand the hardcore smoking ppl hating on pellets smokers...
Im very glad i had tons of pull pork + coleslaw burgers for backup 😅
Thx for this Chef Joe ❤️ love your channel, keep up the good work! I wish u all the best 🙏 lots of success and happiness for you 🙏
That's great to hear. I appreciate your support. 👍
Lookin Good Joe!
Congrats on the new and improved top 25!
Thanks so much buddy!👍
I make these quite often one of my favorites,I just seen your truck and trailer in Odessa midland tx area,I passed you up in a black welding rig with a bbq lol gave you a thumbs up,love your content 💪🏽👨🏻🏭🍔🍗
I just have a standard Weber grill. I use 2 zone technique and they turn out good every time. My dad is a tough critic and he has no complaints. I live on VA disability I can’t afford to go buy a pellet smoker.
I'm in the Toronto area and I only know one person with a pellet smoker. There are so many options out there for bbq these days. Some stick with just basic charcoal bbqs. Propane or natural gas is still the most popular. For those with more money to blow, there is the green egg or kamado joe. Not many people want more than one bbq appliance in their backyard.
Absolutely! I've got a pellet smoker, because I had a standard offset smoker before, and I used it like 3x/year. I use this pellet smoker/grill 3x/week, literally. Burgers, bacon, steaks, sausage, meatballs, shrimp, fish, etc. etc. plus the normal "smoking" stuff like shoulders and briskets.
What pellets do you use
@@Last_Chance. Pit boss competition blend, or the bear mountain stuff. Anything other than treager
Another great video👍 hoping the food truck is going well.
Biggest bite in bbq!
I believe pellet smokers are for those who have not mastered a stick burner yet. I don’t own one because I don’t feel. I am quite there with a regular grill. You are a master. I’m still an apprentice. If all you own is a pellet smoker I’m not even sure I would call you a novice or a beginner. that’s just my opinion though I’ve only been smoking meats for 10 years.
Nice!
Thank you Guy!🤘
Joe TY for this video. I tried the Smoki'n Pecan on a spatchcocked chicken, and it came out wonderful. I agree, I noticed that it took fewer pellets for the cook. I purchased the pellets at 15% off and free shipping.
Thank you for your order and support! We've had quite a bit of customers notice they're using fewer pellets. Thank you or the feedback!
@@smokinpecan I have a second box and a brisket. LOL
Man, those look amazing. I have never smoked a burger before because I thought it would be dry, but now I see I am going to have to give it a shot. 80% / 20%?
Now a gotta get a pellet smoker
Dang those look awesome.
I love my pellet smoker
Great grub brother, love to see someone clean their grates. I get a little grossed out watching some vids with nasty all over when they plop their grub on the grill. Cheers!
not dirty just well seasoned lol
Nicely done. Question please. About how much that cost for the ground beef and the pecan shell pellets?
My auger stopped working on my Pit boss due to the humidity here in Arkansas. It's clogged solid.
Will the cook time be different if you don’t have a top rack in your pellet smoker?
It’s all about those Pekins baby!
Do you only season one side of the patty or both sides?
Wow, I was just wanting to look up if I could smoke a hamburger on my pellet grill. I also plan to try some Alabama White Sauce, because I want to copycat Whataburger's Southern Bacon Double.
Are you going to redo your Chorizo recipe? Just curious after watching the 2 guys and a cooler video. Thanks!
That's the first time I've seen the "Smokin Pecan Pellets". Have you used them on anything else and what do you think of them?
Cooked from frozen ?
I've been doing this on my weber kettle at 225 and pulling them off when they hit about 145 - Should I be using higher temps?
I think people try to cook burgers like steaks. Unfortunately, you risk exposure to E. coli and other things when you cook ground beef under 155 degrees. Steaks, on the other hand are different, you can technically eat steaks raw if you sear the outside.
Looks great, think id have to cut them in half and re patty them, but otherwise 👌
I have a Traeger and mine doesn’t have a big top rack. Can I cook just on the big bottom rack?
Of course you can! I have a Traeger Texas pellet smoker. My coworkers chipped in and bought me an accessory rack so I could maximize the number of ribs I could cook at one time. The highest heat is at the top of the cooker, the next highest heat on the bottom rack, and the lowest heat in the middle layer. So I would put the thickest ribs on top, and the thinnest in the middle layer.
Can u use vertical pellet smoker? I'm new to smoking really enjoying it
Absolutely you can 👍
Yikes... Those burgers look great. I was just thinking about selling my 640 to save money for the Outlander. Now I'm thinking I need to have a final cook before I post it!
You should!
love raw onions, way better then them burnt onions other guys make..
What temperature ?
You the same Smokin Joe that has a place down here in Noble OK ? Place has awesome ribs
No sir, I'm in Texas.
Is there a reason you didn’t cook on bottom rack? Would that impact the cook time or ?
It's a bit hotter on the bottom rack but it can definitely be done.
Mr Joe I have a question. Have you ever made a Hatch Chillies sausage? If so do you video of it? I found the Hatch a year or so ago! I love them.
I did early on but I need to make a new recipe. 👍
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ I like most all peppers but there something about the flavor of hatch that puts it head and shoulders above the others. My opinion! But hope to see new recipe soon. Thank you again for answering my question.
Joe, did you use a drip pan underneath the lower rack? Also, you feel 350 on the upper rack as opposed to 250-275 on the lower rack yields a better result? I’m saving up… and using the pellets I have in preparation for purchasing the pecan shell pellets. That smoke at that temp is insane. I’d also load up a smoke tube to add smoke to my cooks with my leftover regular pellets. Cheers.
No drip pan used. Either top or bottom works. The lower the temp the more smoke flavor though. You can also mix the smokin pecan pellets 50/50 with what you normally use. 👍
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQThanks, brother.
Using Jealous Devil Jax.
wait I have a question. I've only used a gas grill before, and I usually cook them at 400 degrees. takes about 8 minutes to cook. how's he at 350 degrees and cooking them for an hour? even thinking about differences in how big the patty is, that's a lot longer to cook.
Yeah that's way to long , gonna be hella dry - leaned this lesson tonight 😢
Pellet grill is indirect heat.. really convection heat as opposed to a gas grill which is direct heat.
@@j_dun4830An hour on my Grilla Grills Silverbac does not dry out a patty that thick. I believe he started from frozen. When cooking frozen burgers, that’s the recommended way, to assure a uniform result.
So the tldr is cook at 350 for one hour for anyone wondering.
We’re can I find these pellets?
Smokin pecan is the website
Great looking burgers. What temp are you using? Sorry, just saw 350.
Yup 350° all the way.
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ 👍🏻. Love your videos.
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ I'll try, 350° looks very high temp :-) Thanks from Rome
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No 1855 meats in New Mexico Joe not even an HEB. Can you tell us what the fat percentage was of these burgers? For example 80/20, 70/30
1 hour for burgers is tough not gonna lie
Hi Joe, your food always wants me, a vegan eat only your food. 😅❤️
Hey where is your food truck located at? I'm in San Diego. Id love to try out your food truck sometime. Sounds delicious yo 😋 😍 👌
We're in El Paso Texas. 👍
@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ damn I'm in San Diego, CA
What is the total cook time?
1 hour
Wait Wait Wait Wait, The mustard on the bottom and the mayo against the cheese.
Also the Onions on top because mustard needs to touch the meat.
Why the cheap processed cheese though?
I don't have a pellet smoker. I Have a firepit, WSM, small offset, Blackstone and a pizza oven. I'm not buying anything else 😂
Please demonstrate how to make Ham at home .
Try to demonstrate traditional way of making .
Are you going to be open today? Friday 8/11/23 I was trying to find a phone number to call but I couldn't so I hopefully you will get my message.
Yes, we are here
Oof!
Thank the good lord above you didn't put any damn ketchup on it
Gotta have ketchup. The only place for mustard is a binder on ribs
My pellet is great for convenience. But there is NO WAY it creates better flavor than an offset. Not a chance
everything good besides the questionable quality in that cheese lol
Don’t really want a heavy smoke flavor on a burger
It's not heavy with that short of a cook.
30 minutes at 350? WAY overdone!
If you like to eat raw meat, go for it.
This pecan pellet vendor is really dishing out the sponsorship on YT. Probably the 3rd video I’ve seen in the past week with cooks using them. Also, I really don’t understand why you wouldn’t use a thermometer to check for doneness. Exterior color means nothing and I wouldn’t want to overcook expensive ground beef.
An hour at 350? 🤔
Overdone
I'll admit those look great, but a total cook time of 1hr @350 degrees? Those have to be well done at that point?
They probably were but they were still really juicy and so good. 👍
