Brilliant idea and product! The use of the cam is reminiscant of the old mechanical automatons! Much simpler than using 24 micro linear actuators and simpler sequencing! The cutouts are very precise, almost like EDM! Well done!
This is an incredible build. As soon as I saw the single stepper per digit, I knew there had to be some mechanical wizardry in the box. I think that's the first time I've seen a 3D printed cam!
Your clock looks so clean :) Using magnets to pull back the segments is a really neat idea. Stating the obvious, it’s not very legible but I don’t think that was what you were going for. That’s fine, there’s a trade off people are willing to make between looks and practicality which even changes depending on their situation. This is neumorphism in real life and I like how it looks. Mechanical noises aside (which can be reduced), this is a more subtle way to tell time - like the Sun moving across the sky - that still has the precision of a digital clock.
So clean, elequant and mesmerising, its been a long time since I was mind blown and riddled with desire at novel time piece. would love to see how you did the electronics too.
The algorithm sent me, this is a super cool build! There's a lot of potential here, is there any chance you'd be willing to open-source this project (or just produce more for sale)? I'd love to own one, and while I'm sure I could assemble a bunch of 3d-printed parts and maybe write the code, I don't think I could design those parts myself.
Probably very little. Most current needed is to rotate the cams which only occurs once every minute. The main IC use energy as well but if it's put into sleep, it use very little current (only a few μA).
I guess that's easily done for anyone having a computer, 3D printer and the know-how. Of course it's not an invention, more like a replica. What's stupid is that it was originally designed to show the time, which this avatar does poorly. Some appropriate lighting, or better: a new idea to bring the old one alive?
I’ve got all sorts of mediocre clocks around me if I want to know the time-this thing is an effing gorgeous design that would make me smile each time I looked at it

Очень крутая штука получилась.

If you put a spotlight on it (at an angle) I guess the shadows will make it legible enough.
Great project and very elegant implementation! I am also impressed by the presicion of your 3D printing.
Incredible build. Who invented it is a genius!😲👏👏👏🤩🤩
Utterly brilliant! 👍🏼
Love the Cam that advances or decreases the numbers
that's looking crazy good actually it messes with my brain
Awesome design!
Beautiful design ~ well done 👍🏻
Fran Lab needs a few of these !!!
This is a cool video! You got yourself a new subscriber.
Great work. Cheers
So clean and fresh, I want one.
I think that it's possible to use coils+magnets (like speakers) to push segments, coil also can power up led, so segments can be lighted
Excellent ! 😊👍🏻

So cool!!
where can we buy it??
Absolutely!
I also wanna buy. Needs to make up a shop this guy
Make it...
By Editing Table 😅🥰
take all my money
Original et très astucieux, bravo le mécanisme est au top, l'affichage n'est pas très lisible les segments pourraient être colorés. Belle réalisation.
Cool! ❤😃👍👏👏👏
Brilliant!!
The Chinese have noted.

Отличная, идея

Esta hermoso, venderas el kit? O venderas los archivos stl?
Where tomtet the STLs?
where can i buyit?
You have to have lighting from the side, or you can't read the clock.
механический дешифратор :) офигеть заморочился :)
Need this!

Yes please
Rotary switch.

Just appreciate the beauty
