At this point, Sasha got no chance against Adelia with 3A, 4T, and 4F. At the test skates, Adelia did a 3A, her least reliable jump, but then crumbled under the relentless pressure of being the official absolute favorite for the past nine months, in spite of being crashed by a 12-year-old multiple times.

I agree that Sasha should absolutely pursue competitive skating as long as she is healthy and able. She needs a coach that feeds her hunger and love of skating while nurturing her abilities without pushing her to much, expecting too much, or disregarding her if she doesn't meet standards. If she skated programs that were just a bit over the next highest base value, to skate 3 quads, or 2 instead of 5, then she can be consistent, build confidence and attention. She has it, but she's better off being consistently an 9.0 skater than an inconsistent 10 ya know?! (Figurateively, of course I know the judging isn't done like that now) but the way judges punish and award skaters unfairly with the new system, she better off landing all triples and not botching 1 quad...

In the beginning of Trusova‘s fp it’s actually her voice over the music. She’s talking about betrayal: „how often in life we will be hindered, not by circumstances, no, by cruel people (in direct translation „people-animals“). And how not rarely they will betray, how difficult it will be to trust someone again.“
I don’t think that the program is inspired by Cruella or similar to Cruella, maybe it’s about Olympics, but I’m not sure. The song is also in Russian, it’s also about betrayal: “They beat us, we fly higher and higher from pain, spreading our wings above our own roof. They beat us, we fly, laugh and cry, leaving our failures below.”
The words in Makar’s music are not his, as far as I know, it’s just Russian rap song.

Trusova was nicknamed "quad queen" and "russian roket", while Akatyeva was nicknamed "supersonic". Their nicknames indicated strength and technique (Anna Shcherbakova was all about grace and elegance, not strength). Even the signature move of Trusova and Akatyeva (cantilever) is the same.
And I always felt like they were trying to market Petrosian as the new Medvedeva. Both girls are known for including pantomime movements in their programs, both are half Armenian, both are petite and given similar style programs. I personally dont get why both Kosternaya abd Trusova rushed to the altar. And I am Russian, so i get that women marry and have babies earlier. But they jumped the gun even by Russian standards, imo.
They are very accomplished and very young women, not 19th century spinsters.

The interesting part about these test skates is that not a single lady performed cleanly. Which isn't a big deal, these are just test skates after all everyone is just getting back into the season. But usually test skates are pretty clean and with expiration dates approaching and the reports of injuries these test skates make me very anxious about how this season/next season will go. Next years winner of the National Championships will likely be the only one going to the Olympics and at this rate any of these girls could make it to that spot.
I feel like they are trying too hard to make Adelia seem like Kamila when that just isn't who she is (Expiration date approaching). Akateva I think is still injured and likely won't recover her ultra C (She's reusing her short from 2023 by the way, seems like they care very little for her at this point). Sadkova who has shown she is capable of a 4+4 combo probably performed the worst in the test skates both technically and artistically (again these programs didn't help like wth Daniel??) Muravieva's programs were Beautiful (white AND black swan for short/free) but her consistency with 3A has been very shaky. Sasha (my love) has a long way to go to catch up but her free skate essentially translates to "When they beat us down, we fly" in relation to her very hard year last year and if she can manage her two quads like she plans then hell yea she has a good chance at that Olympic spot. The other 4 girls always have beautiful programs and artistry and a couple have had quads in the past so if they perform at their best and the "top" 5 miss the mark by too much we could have an underdog going to the Olympics.
