I've rebuilt & worked on the odd car in the past & it's only when you stop stripping things back, do you realise the amount of work involed, but the day it's finished & running, you can sit down over a pint & laugh about the scraped knuckles, before enjoying driving/riding all of your hard efforts ;)
I have a 1984 A1 worse than that, but a good project, if somewhat expensive. A mate sold me a 1990 gt 550 cheap, bit of a rat, but a runner. All the bikers i know say those lumps are bullit proof. :)

I Have an 1987 GT 550 that is fully chopped into a hard tail bobber, she runs really well.
