I have the 1080 and I just built my computer today and it's freaking amazing. Steady 110 fps on GTA v with all maximum settings. however grass setting is kept at normal. That kills the framerate when on any mountains or near lots of shrubbery trees or grass

By 15,I don't mean the top of the line 6600k, I mean something like the 6400. You can also get a non Z170 chipset motherboard as overclocking is anyways not possible on a 6400.

For anyone thinking about copying this build read this first:
-For the price you are putting this at, 32 gb of ram is definitely not needed you will not notice much of a difference if you just went 16 or even 8 gigabytes of ram
-why are you pairing a i7 6700 with a gtx 1060?? Unless you are planning on doing a lot of productivity, get a 1070 and i5 6600
-1200 watt power supply really? Go for a 500-750 watt one, he isn't even overclocking

I have questions
A GTX1060 with a 6700 is a bad idea? I like doing intensive gaming and a little bit of video editing. I do really want an i7 though and I want my PC to be future proof for upcoming games. Can I still pair them?
Also, why is the power supply in this video not a good idea?

shane peschel the power supply's not a bad idea, it's just completely unnecessary (so you pay for more than you're ever going to need). A 750 would still be overkill and isn't gonna need replacing

If it was me id go with 16gb ram and a 650w psu. Then take the money I saved on the psu and ram and put it towards a z170 mobo, and a i7 6700k. Granted you'd up the total price a bit, but worth it if you can swing it imo...

6700k as in the i5 or the i7 model? They both work but... not the best motherboard for overclocking.

Why have that massive psu, and an i7, when you are only running a 1060? I would have put more money into the gpu, an i5 would have done fine, especially if you overclock a 6600k, performance is nearly identical to 6700k.
Edit: you also have the cpu mislabeled in the description, it's not an i7 5600

i5 6600k is not compatible with a m-itx motherboard
Simon Brisebois Yes it is, it is the exact same socket type as the 6700k used in this video. An m-itx motherboard isn't even used in this video, it's an m-ATX. That is a very standard motherboard form factor, I highly doubt it wouldn't support that cpu, especially because I put a build together using that cpu and that form factor of motherboard.

Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100 3M Cache Processor or AMD Fx 8320E 8 core
i3 6100. Much better single-threaded performance, making it better for gaming. Although I would recommend saving a little more for an i5 6500 or something similar because dual core processors are quickly becoming obsolete.

Erick Machuca try to swap the 1TB hdd with a 240gb ssd. it will be so much more faster. you can save up for a 1TB hdd later down the road like your gpu.

Are all the fans on in the case all powered through one 4 pin connector? Or did u just not show the front 3 being plugged in? Just wondering cause im building a pc and the case has three fans but my motherboard only has 2 fan headers. So that would be useful if they all connected via one 4 pin connector

U forgot some basic stuff...Like make sure that there us no static electricity unless u want to scrap ur pc. U can easily get static electricity on u by standing on a carpet or just pulling the boxes while they're on a carpet. But other than that great video :D
larix 000 dammit i placed my motherboard on a carpet. Plus my system fan not connected & no usb.3 cable. Helpp. The problem is that my pc would turn on & the fans would work etc but the monitor says no signal. I use a hdmi to dvi d cable. Any tips?

+Come to papa Oompsie you would see a better performance with a 1070 and i3 than an i7 and 1060 as editing software takes advantage of nvidia CUDA cores

Here's a suggestion what you should do with that pc:
Step 1: Grap the pc.
Step 2: Find a window.
Step 3: Throw the pc form the window.
Step 4: Done.

Can someone explain to me why he used the 2nd and 4th dimm slot ?
Because most pc's run the 2nd and 4th slot when you first boot up. It's somewhat complicated, but when you enter the bios it gives you a list of what to run first, and they usually prioritize the 2nd and 4th slot as the main random allocated memory and have the other two as alternative ram. Sorry if this confused you xD
If I just want to play games like skyrim so i can have the option of adding mods to it how would it cost to buy the parts to build it.
