I DID love this video; your voice is ideal for this! Thank you! I love making cards that people can frame/display because otherwise ….in the trash it goes. 😊. I rarely write words on the front for this reason.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I am completely with you on creating cards that can be repurposed. Thank you for sharing your idea around that, having them live on as art for a second act is a great way to go.😊
Love the idea of doodling the lights starting with a squiggle! And the candy cane hearts are adorable. Your explanation of connecting just dots and lines for the snowflake and other seemingly complicated shapes really helps put things into perspective. Thank you for sharing your cards.
Thank you so much! ❤️ I’m thrilled that the drawing tips and shapes for snowflakes were helpful-it’s amazing how little details can create such fun designs! I’m so glad you enjoyed the candy cane hearts, too. Thank you for the kind words, and happy creating! 😊✨
Thank you so much! ❤️ I’m so happy you loved those designs and that they sparked some ideas for you! It means a lot to hear that my work resonates with you. I’ll keep sharing, and I’m so grateful to have you along! 😊🌟
You want me to choose a favorite, I did, and then you painted the next one which then became my favorite ...until you painted the next one....see what I mean? They all were beautifully done and inspired me to make some cards!!! You really are a talented sketch artist...I love how easily you draw your design!!! Thanks for sharing !
Thank you so much for this wonderful message! It truly makes my day to hear that each piece found its way into your favorites! I love that my work has inspired you to make your own cards-what a beautiful way to share your creativity with others! Your kind words mean a lot, and I’m so grateful for your support. Can’t wait to keep sharing more with you! 😊🌸
I love the snowflake! All of them are really cool. I messed up on the spatters on my first 'practice' Christmas lights painting (it has been years since I have used watercolor) but you gave the tip soon after to use a small brush and that worked.
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you love the snowflakes-it means a lot! And, I completely relate to those spatter mishaps-it’s all part of the creative journey, lol 😆 I'm so glad the tip about the small brush helped you out. I'm so glad to hear you're getting back into watercolor, it’s such a fun medium! I hope you keep experimenting and enjoying the process!
Thank you so much for your support and for subscribing! I’m excited to keep sharing more projects with you, I'll keep them coming. Here's to the creative life! 🎨😊
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it, especially the 80’s-inspired Christmas tree-that one was such a blast to create! It’s great to hear the tips were helpful, too. Thanks for watching! 😊
I'm so glad you found that tip helpful! Masking can be such a game-changer for keeping things clean while adding those fun splatters. Thanks for your kind comment!✨
Hi Sarah. I came across your video by accident and I’m so happy I did. I have been wanting to make watercolor Christmas cards for ages but am a beginner at painting and felt a bit intimidated. You broke everything down so nicely and explained it in easy to understand directions which has given me the confidence to take a shot at making them myself. I can’t wait to check out any other videos you have posted. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!!
Hi Natalie! Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly means the world to know that my video gave you the confidence to dive into creating your own Christmas cards. Your words captured exactly why I started making these videos-to share the joy of painting and make it accessible, no matter where someone is starting. I’m so glad it gave you inspiration! Can’t wait for you to explore more videos, and I hope you continue to have fun with each one. 🎨✨
Thank you! 😊 I’m so happy to hear that the first lights caught your eye-they really do have a special glow, don’t they? I love hearing which ones resonate with you. It makes sharing these moments so rewarding! ❤✨
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like them, and that’s such a wonderful idea to gift a set of cards-it’s a thoughtful way to share a bit of handmade charm for the holidays. Happy creating, and thank you for the kind words! 🎄💌✨
I really love how simple you made these, your explanation and examples take these from intimidating to doable! I really love them all! Thank you for sharing! ❤
Thank you so much! I’m thrilled to hear that the explanation made things feel more approachable-that’s exactly what I aim for! It means a lot that you enjoyed the simplicity and found them doable. Thank you for the lovely feedback! ❤✨
I’m so glad you love the Christmas cards! Absolutely, feel free to paint some for your craft show-I'd be honored! Wishing you lots of success, and I hope they bring some extra festive cheer to your booth. Good luck at the show! 🎄😊
Thank you for all of you very inspiring video’s with Christmas card ideas! I love your teaching method and find it very helpful and easy to follow. I have made 3 cards so far, all with just a wreath on them , similar but different to yours and I used watercolour brush pens. I need to practice with looser painting! I was going to share my cards and tag you on Instagram but the page that I found for you seems to have very different type of art to these videos and I’m not sure I have found the correct Instagram page for you 🤔
Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly makes my day to hear that you’ve found my videos inspiring and easy to follow-and I love the idea of your wreath cards! Watercolor brush pens sound fantastic. I haven't tried those before and may have to get my hands on some 😊 As for Instagram, I recently transitioned from modern acrylic paintings to watercolor landscapes, which is why my Instagram still looks a little different with my previous content. So long as you're on @sarahaileenstudio on Instagram (the profile picture there will match what you see here on TH-cam), you have the right account! Feel free to tag me-I'd absolutely love to see your cards! 💌 Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for sharing this with me. 🌟
So you just made 4 x 4 cards out of them? And did you use watercolor paper? I don’t remember you saying I guess I like the second snowflake the best. But I am partial to snowflakes. I think the Christmas tree would be the easiest. I’ve been asked to make some Christmas cards for our church winter workshop Gift shop and I’m looking for ideas. So these might be a part of that. Thank you for sharing your talent. 💛TR Ps. New subscriber.😊
Thank you so much for subscribing and for your kind words! The watercolor paper is cut to 5x5 overall (you can make the image whatever size you like by adjusting the width of the border) and perfect for keeping the designs simple and sturdy. I love that you’re considering them for your church’s winter workshop gift shop! The snowflake designs are so fun to make and the Christmas tree is an easy and festive option. Wishing you all the best with your card-making!😊

I like the tip of masking off the shape that you want to protect from the splatters. Have not seen that before and it’s very helpful ❤
I'm so glad you found that tip helpful! Masking can be such a game-changer for keeping things clean while adding those fun splatters. Thanks for your kind comment!✨

Sarah you make this look so easy, it’s hard to pick a favorite. But, the first lights speak to me. ❤
