Yum! LOL! Thank-you. You make it look so easy. Ever try sunflower seed sprouts? Those were always my favorite at our farmer's market. BTW...you two look great. Healthy and happy.
Sprouting is really easy, especially if you stick to alfalfa and fenugreek. We LOVE sunflower sprouts but only ever buy them when we visit the market - growing them requires trays, soil, space, green thumbs, etc. 🙈🤓
Fabulous! I used to spread all the time and really need to get back to it. So tiring spendinh money on lettuce and have it go bad before the week's out. The salad you tucked into looked absolutely delicious! Could you tell me what you put in it please? If you know how to teleport I would love tasting one of your delicious-looking salads! LOL. Superior nutrition!!! Yummy.
Ha ha ha that would be cool if we could email you a salad to taste. I think that one had grated beetroot and carrot, lots of sprouts, avo, toasted sunflower seeds and a balsamic glaze.
In 2022 I bought a 5 gallon bucket of organic fenugreek seeds - don’t remember why lol! This week on my to do list was to figure out what I’m gonna do with these and I was actually hoping I could sprout them. Your video is timely and you are a blessing, thank you.
Ha! Caught you two on the fly! Great sprouting tutorial 🌿. We’ve been sprouting Mung Beans. We use a large (1/2 gallon) glass jar. Cover the bottom with Mung Bean seeds and then Cover them with water to let soak overnight. Then drain and rinse twice daily for @5 days. The seed casings will eventually drop off, so we skim them out as we drain the sprouts. We cover the jar with a tea cloth and drain through our fingers since the seeds are bigger. Yields a wild amount of nutritious food for Pennie’s, and as you say they last in the fridge for a week. They’re also delicious cooked up In stir fry with other vegetables. Oh, Happy Day!! 😋😋 -V
We're all about effort to reward ration in our house and sprouting is definitely skewed to the reward side of things. By a lot actually! :) Let us know how it goes.
Great video. I enjoyed the art graphics, if thats what they are called. I've been spouting on and off for many decades ,mostly in summer (salad season, although I eat salad all year round🤷). I use much smaller jars with a bit of muslin/cheese cloth and a rubber band laid on the window sill. I am envious of your stand with the tray underneath but to buy one may be overconsumption (your last video). Enjoying mung bean spouts at the moment, they were a great 'nutty' afternoon snack on my camping trip last week 😋(sprouted while camping!). Thank you for the inspirational content. --(Going to fish out some more jars) 🚶♀
Sprouting while camping!? You're next level. 🙌 Our sprouting setup is such a boon. We absolutely love it! For us it definitely wasn't overconsumption. 😁 Glad you liked the graphics. They're courtesy of Canva.com
I have a mesh disc filter, that I bought pre made, within a mason jar ring so I just use that with the mason jar ring. Super easy to use. But I do find I get fewer sprouts per batch in the winter. I think it’s because of fewer winter sunlight hours here in Canada.
Interesting that your winter harvests are less. Sunlight isn't required for sprouting...ours don't have any access to sunlight and we always get bumper harvests year-round. Maybe they just need to be somewhere warmer in your home?

Good stuff. Thanks so very much for this.
Kept simple. Nothing over-complicated, nothing intimidating.
Straight forward.
Wow, thanks, that's exactly what we were aiming for. Keep us posted on your sprouting efforts. 😁

Ooooh thanks for the mini tut - we'll definitely try our hand at sprouting mung beans one of these days. 😬
Thank you, I will give another go, you've definitely boosted my enthusiasm. The final product looks lovely!

Lynn here I enjoyed the video even though I don’t have a clue about seeds etc. lol.😉
After watching the video you now know the basics to get started! LOL
@@MostlyMindful I’m not so sure. I have no talent in the kitchen. I’m a cleaner!

I never thought about that. Maybe my windowsill is too cold?
@@jayathome2898 It's probably that. See if you can move them somewhere a bit warmer.
