Stormforce10 at Drayton manor is an incredible water ride. The queue is ornately themed. The backwards drop might be the wettest point on a water ride and it ends with a spectacular double-down over the lake.
Splash Mountain is not only my favorite water ride, it’s my favorite ride in the entire world. I love everything about it. The story, the songs, the characters and the thrills are just perfect.
I say jarassic river adventure, no question. Amazing theming, and in the back, you get not too soaked, and the drop has sustained flojector pop, around the same feeling as a B&m drop with a great stomach dropping sensation

My one and only ride on Splash Mountain (FL) this summer was also my first and only evac - our log stopped at the Brer Bear animatronic that's on its back with the beehive on his head and we got to listen to that sound effect for about 10 minutes before we were lead off the ride and given water and a fast-pass to almost any ride. Shame I'll have to wait a few more years at least to try again, and by then it may finally be rethemed (not sure what the status is on that these days). It's awesome that a little park like Phantasialand can have two of the top 10 water rides; I've heard great things about Chiapas and its drop.
Splash Mountain is my favorite too. I'm surprised Grizzly River Run didn't make the list. I've always thought that is one of the best raft rides with it's beautiful scenery and multiple drops.
Obviously it's all subjective but I find the theming on Ripsaw Falls to be a bit underwhelming. I'm actually a HUGE fan of the old Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons and their spin offs such as Dudley Do- Right and I understand that the theming is intentionally minimalistic to match the minimalist style of the old cartoon. But I think that they went too far with that idea and built sets that are incomplete. It's weird because this stands in stark contrast to the wonderfully garish ride facade they built. It is a fantastic ride with some thrilling elements, comic moments and lots of water. But I do wish the theme was more consistent and fleshed out. On the other hand I find Splash Mountain to be a more seamless and well paced experience. The mountain itself looks like it could exist in the stories of Brer Rabbit. And the dark ride segments are top notch and they all build to the climax well. I especially think the music elevates the ride. And the multiple drops, including the indoor drop in the dark with a bunny hill, really make it a satisfying experience. I'm not saying you're wrong to like Ripsaw Falls more. That's a matter of personal taste. But I'm just giving you my perspective on what I think makes Splash Mountain a superior ride.
Thank you for including Zoom Phloom! It's a fun ride even if it's a bit jerky and the dark ride section "Under the Boardwalk" is tacky but cute. It's my family's tradition to go through that part singing along with the music. Morey's is severely underrated. It seems to get written off as just "another" boardwalk park on the Jersey shore, especially with Great Adventure a little over an hour away. But they really do have a nice collection of top-notch rides, including this great flume, a fun woodie and better examples of SLC and Boomerang than most!
I love water rides and we have so few (good ones) in the UK. I'm most excited about Jurassic Park, but I absolutely love Chiapas. My partner and I went in September so we rode it all afternoon without getting off the boat. It's the second best ride at Phantasialand, after Taron, just before Die Gieste Rickshaw, which we both loved for its weirdness (and calming effect after hitting Taron too hard).
Splash Mountain HAD to be number one. I mean, nothing else is on that level. I'm glad to see the Log Chute getting some love as well. It's the best ride at the Mall of America by far. I know you've said you are undwhelmed by Timber Mountain Log Ride's final drop but I'm still surprised to see it so low. One ride I'd like to give some credit to is Escape from Pompeii. After the first time I rode that I felt that every other Shoot the Chute (except Jurassic Park) was really wasted potential. I get that most parks can't build something like Jurassic Park River Adventure but Escape from Pompeii uses a normal layout with a simple short dark ride section. The facade and that dark ride portion really elevate the experience and I don't think such additions are WAY beyond the means of most parks. It's just another example of taking something simple and making it great. It's also another example of why BGW is such an excellent park.
@@CanobieCoaster I don't necessarily think your list needed Pompeii. I just bring it up because I think it is an example of taking a simple idea and making it grand. Shoot the chute rides in the 80s and 90s were like the Vekoma Boomerang of water rises. They're simple, they are straightforward to build, they have an understandable appeal and gimmick and they require less effort to build and maintain than other water rides. But BGW took this overused concept and essentially fixed it. From a ride stand point it is no more complex than any other shoot the chute. But the dark ride overall with audio-animatronics, well done sets and fire effects make it into a far greater ride. I don't expect a Six Flags park to have a ride with its own score or anything. But it wouldn't take much to add a Looney Toons overlay to any of their shoot the chute rides. Cedar Fair could probably do a bit better. Family owned parks could probably have some kind of local historical scene play out and it could be done on the cheap. I just think BGW proved that these rides have much more potential.
Hard to decide between Valhalla, Chiapas, and Popeyes. All 3 excel at different things. Ill need to re ride Splash Mountain one day as it did absolutely nothing for me but that's everything at Disney. A few of these I'm now a bit sad that I skipped as now knowing more about them makes them rides I want to ride. Great list!
I must say I am surprised to see Frozen Ever After on the list. I hate the ride because I feel there is no story and the song choice is horrible. For me, good animatronics do not make up for a boring ride.

I think Thunder Canyon at Dorney Park is more soaking than Popeye's, but it's definitely one of the very few that dares to throw riders under legit waterfalls.
God this reminds me the only ride that ever terrified me was Pilgrim’s Plunge when I was like 12. Not the drop, just that elevator and the way it had to shimmy to the side to pass the other side of the lift was haunting when you are a kid

It's very unfortunate that such the iconic ride Splash Mountain is getting re-themed. I went on it once with my dad and enjoyed it even though I get super motion sick on water rides. It's going to be interesting to see what Disney does with the Princess and the Frog.
Every time I go to the Mall of American I always gotta get on the Log Chute. Didn’t even expect to see it here especially not at #2. Love the video man!
I get to Morey's Pier at least once every year ... and while I will skip the coasters and other rides from time to time, I NEVER pass up the opportunity to ride their two-drop log flume. I'm thrilled to see that one make this list!
Frozen Ever After was a very welcomed surprise when we visited a year ago. It was truly a captivating experience. It was one of my favorite new memories at Disney.
Defunct ride videos are tricky due to a lack of footage. I remember not finding any that I was allowed to use of Slidewinder when working on a top rides video for Dollywood.
On a nice hot day of you want some water, water rides are probably the perfect go to. I love water coasters the most, then log flumes, then river rapids. Of corse we aren't including water slides. But every park, especially one that gets hot in the summer should have a water ride of some sort.
For me, river rapids rides are the best because my whole family will go on them and it's a communal laugh riot. For so many thrill rides and even some dark rides, I end up doing them solo because nobody will go on them with me. But these I can share.

Hi, I'm from Madrid and I'm gonna talk about Rio Bravo in Parque warner. That backwards airtime hill was sadly renovated, so the ejector has been decreased. The reason I think is because people complained about that element because it was very dangerous.
I feel nostalgic to 24 which is now known as excalibur. I did not ride the current version, but i still remember the day, where it was a proper rafting ride and had more animatronics and so on. I am still a bit sad that this ride got tame.
I kinda grew out of water rides. Loved them as a kid. But now I'm just like, ehhh. Kinda ambivalent towards them. That being said, if I get the opportunity to ride any of these, I certainly will. The majority look extremely cool.
It needs to be HOT if you're going to get wet. (My tolerance for water slides is even lower when it's anything short of scorching. The enclosed tube slides just make me shiver thinking about them. But simply putting the ride in Florida largely solves this problem.)
Best river rapids ride is always going to be Mystic River Falls at Silver Dollar City. The theming and the ride are perfect. The elevator lift is so different to any other rapid ride I've ever been on.
WILD WEST FALLS AT MOVIE WORLD IN AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!! It looks very similar to Rio Bravo at Parque Warner Madrid, except I'm pretty sure it has a bigger final drop.
Now Valhalla has been redone do you think it could place higher for me its the best water ride ive ridden but i havent done any universal or disney parks
I’m so excited for Valhalla reopening. I remember being evaced off the year it opened, I was on a school trip and got a load of free ride tickets (BPB did have wristbands then but the school wouldn’t pay for them so we got tickets, IIRC The Big One was at least 6 “A” ones).
Dudley’s ripsaw falls is soooooooo fun. I feel like not many people know who Dudley do-right is so in future I hope they refurbish it, over tearing it down for a new attraction.
How is Flying Dutchman only #20? Maybe because you don’t get all that wet. But apart from that it’s got amazing theming, music, darkride and being a coaster instead of a flume, it is overall more thrilling.
Your out of ur mind if u think splash mountain is better than Dudley Do Right. Dudley is more extrême in every single way its even longer and has more drops. Both have outdated animatronics sure but both have a nice charm to them. With splash mountain maybe having the edge in that 1 category. Dudley is better in every other way. Even Jurassic park is better than splash mountain in every single way. Even the animatronics
I've heard that the Log Chute at Nickelodeon Universe was a good ride. I haven't ridden it since the 90s, not long after the Mall of America opened. Back when the park was still Camp Snoopy. It probably changed or was updated when Nickelodeon took over, but I just never wanted to ride it because it's an indoor park. Who wants to walk around a mall in wet clothes?
When they do redo the Splash Mountain I bet it's going to be so cool more animatronics probably more coloring the music's going to be called does Disney rocks

Valhalla has 3 drops, not 2. Also, it's officially open again after a nearly 4-years reimagining! It hasn't refrained from getting the riders absolutely DRENCHED, though! :D
I agree with Splash Mountain completely. So sad that the only version left will be Tokyo’s soon. Never heard of most on this list, but all of them look fun!
Sadly they let all the theming and certain ride elements go but when I was young Journey to Atlantis was my favorite. Haven't seen the whole list yet but I also hope Escape From Pompaii makes the list too.

I only went on a few water rides. I am not a fan of those. Therefor only went to the ones at Phantasialand and Movie Park, as these aren’t far from where I live.
I always really love to see people's opinions on how they rank roller coasters/water rides! Personally, Splash Mountain would actually be on the bottom of my list (and I'm a huge Disney fan!). I have this system where I equate how fun it is to how wet I'm willing to get haha. Awesome video though!
I've only seen POVs but the log flume at toverland looks pretty cool. Goes forwards and backwards, has indoor and outdoor parts, and has a literal turntable in the middle of a lift hill that turns you from backwards to forward.
Mystic River Falls is my personal favorite rapids ride, hopefully you'll get to ride it soon. #23 is now very high on my list thanks to the theming indoors😃🤣
@@CanobieCoaster it's really good but be prepared to wait in a long line unless you hit it immediately after the park opens. Always draws 2+ hour lines on hot summer days, and that's not even accounting for its reliability issues.
I came to the comments for this one. When I went in September most of the park was almost exclusively station waits, while MRF was maybe 15 minutes? Easily the best water ride in the state
If you had been on some of the rides and seen the actual state they are in, you wouldn't place them so high. Movie Park, Belantis, Blackpool Pleasure Beach - none of the rides here are in any sort of high quality working order. Movie Park's sets are literally rotting behind the newer theming, Belantis' ride is practically all broken and Valhalla was a shadow of its original self by the time it closed in 2019. On the flip side, rides like Chiapas, Piraten in Batavia, Popeye etc. are in much better working order and deserve their place.

But in all seriousness - how can a ride that is literally rotting be one of the best in the world, I find that interesting. Movie Park, Belantis etc. They may have strong ideas and be unique, but the way these attractions are maintained means they are anything but the best in the world.
@@CanobieCoaster Frozen Ever After should have been a dark ride on a sleigh. There was plenty of room between the Mexico and Norway pavilions to build a new ride instead of replacing Maelstrom. Adding rides is always better than replacing existing ones. Walt called it “plussing” but currently the company would rather replace.
The original version of Rio Bravo is Wild West Falls in Movie World, Australia and the original Australian version has a better ride story and music throughout.
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah that's because the original ride doesn't have the interesting backwards camel hill on the first drop, instead it has a harder steeper backwards drop and goes much faster into the Switch track element while epic western music is playing. The other big difference is that on the original version of the ride, the final drop is hidden from view until the doors fling open, where as in the Rio version there's no final doors.

I really like that ride, but it couldn't beat these 25.
My favorite is Dudley Do-Right. It is so fast-paced, visually pleasing, thrilling, and way more fun than Splash Mountain.

Timber Mountain Log Ride is my favorite. I’m a sucker for Knott’s history, and I’m glad they’re keeping this classic around.

Best river rapids ride is always going to be Mystic River Falls at Silver Dollar City. The theming and the ride are perfect. The elevator lift is so different to any other rapid ride I've ever been on.
It's an awesome water ride.
WILD WEST FALLS AT MOVIE WORLD IN AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!! It looks very similar to Rio Bravo at Parque Warner Madrid, except I'm pretty sure it has a bigger final drop.
I'm sure I would love that one and I hope to ride it one day.
I went on Roaring Rapids at Magic Mountain and i got SOAKED on it! I loved it

Now Valhalla has been redone do you think it could place higher for me its the best water ride ive ridden but i havent done any universal or disney parks
I rerode it and liked the updated theming.
I’m so excited for Valhalla reopening. I remember being evaced off the year it opened, I was on a school trip and got a load of free ride tickets (BPB did have wristbands then but the school wouldn’t pay for them so we got tickets, IIRC The Big One was at least 6 “A” ones).
I'm excited to see how the refurb went.

Dudley’s ripsaw falls is soooooooo fun. I feel like not many people know who Dudley do-right is so in future I hope they refurbish it, over tearing it down for a new attraction.
I think Popeye is sort of dated too.

How is Flying Dutchman only #20?
Maybe because you don’t get all that wet. But apart from that it’s got amazing theming, music, darkride and being a coaster instead of a flume, it is overall more thrilling.
I prefer dark rides with more sets. I agree Flying Dutchman has a great atmosphere though.
Your out of ur mind if u think splash mountain is better than Dudley Do Right. Dudley is more extrême in every single way its even longer and has more drops. Both have outdated animatronics sure but both have a nice charm to them. With splash mountain maybe having the edge in that 1 category. Dudley is better in every other way. Even Jurassic park is better than splash mountain in every single way. Even the animatronics
Splash Mountain has far better theming for me. I agree Ripsaw has the better drops.
I've heard that the Log Chute at Nickelodeon Universe was a good ride. I haven't ridden it since the 90s, not long after the Mall of America opened. Back when the park was still Camp Snoopy. It probably changed or was updated when Nickelodeon took over, but I just never wanted to ride it because it's an indoor park. Who wants to walk around a mall in wet clothes?
That is the one ride that didn't get Nickelodeon theming. It gets you comfortably wet.
When they do redo the Splash Mountain I bet it's going to be so cool more animatronics probably more coloring the music's going to be called does Disney rocks
I've heard the animatronics will be like Hong Kong's Frozen ride, which means they'll be excellent.

Valhalla has 3 drops, not 2. Also, it's officially open again after a nearly 4-years reimagining! It hasn't refrained from getting the riders absolutely DRENCHED, though! :D

Sadly they let all the theming and certain ride elements go but when I was young Journey to Atlantis was my favorite. Haven't seen the whole list yet but I also hope Escape From Pompaii makes the list too.

I like getting wet. But Disneyland Splash Mountain front row is extremely soaking and will have you sloshing around the rest of the day.

Boston tea parties splash is insane, I get that it is short and does not have the best teeming, but the cue line is fun and you still can get wet

I only went on a few water rides. I am not a fan of those. Therefor only went to the ones at Phantasialand and Movie Park, as these aren’t far from where I live.

I always really love to see people's opinions on how they rank roller coasters/water rides! Personally, Splash Mountain would actually be on the bottom of my list (and I'm a huge Disney fan!). I have this system where I equate how fun it is to how wet I'm willing to get haha. Awesome video though!

I've only seen POVs but the log flume at toverland looks pretty cool. Goes forwards and backwards, has indoor and outdoor parts, and has a literal turntable in the middle of a lift hill that turns you from backwards to forward.
It’s not my favorite or anything, but it’s definitely fun for the reasons you name.

@@CanobieCoaster it's really good but be prepared to wait in a long line unless you hit it immediately after the park opens. Always draws 2+ hour lines on hot summer days, and that's not even accounting for its reliability issues.
I came to the comments for this one. When I went in September most of the park was almost exclusively station waits, while MRF was maybe 15 minutes? Easily the best water ride in the state
If you had been on some of the rides and seen the actual state they are in, you wouldn't place them so high. Movie Park, Belantis, Blackpool Pleasure Beach - none of the rides here are in any sort of high quality working order. Movie Park's sets are literally rotting behind the newer theming, Belantis' ride is practically all broken and Valhalla was a shadow of its original self by the time it closed in 2019. On the flip side, rides like Chiapas, Piraten in Batavia, Popeye etc. are in much better working order and deserve their place.
I rode all of the attractions on this list.

But in all seriousness - how can a ride that is literally rotting be one of the best in the world, I find that interesting. Movie Park, Belantis etc. They may have strong ideas and be unique, but the way these attractions are maintained means they are anything but the best in the world.

Maybe refresh wasn't the right word. I agree it feels like an all-new ride even if it has the same ride system.
@@CanobieCoaster Frozen Ever After should have been a dark ride on a sleigh. There was plenty of room between the Mexico and Norway pavilions to build a new ride instead of replacing Maelstrom. Adding rides is always better than replacing existing ones. Walt called it “plussing” but currently the company would rather replace.
Disney might retheme the splash mountain ride to princess and the frog this year sadly.
As long as the ride gets the same level of story-telling, animatronics, music, and theming, I could like it just as much.

The original version of Rio Bravo is Wild West Falls in Movie World, Australia and the original Australian version has a better ride story and music throughout.
I've heard the airtime on Rio Bravo is better though.
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah that's because the original ride doesn't have the interesting backwards camel hill on the first drop, instead it has a harder steeper backwards drop and goes much faster into the Switch track element while epic western music is playing.
The other big difference is that on the original version of the ride, the final drop is hidden from view until the doors fling open, where as in the Rio version there's no final doors.
