Motown royalty! The Temptations were invited to many a cookout. "Just My Imagination", "My Girl", "Ball of Confusion", "Psychedelic Shack", "Can't Get Next to You", and "The Way You Do the Things You Do" are some of their biggest hits.
Totally agree Angela although I'm a brit motown, R@B, funk, @soul was a staple in my country in the late 60s @ early 70s kings like james brown, marvin gaye, jr walker and the all stars,Isaac hayes, wilson picket, to many to mention just great fantastic music.🇬🇧👍🤗🤗
@@michaelmcbreen4025 Nothing brings the world together like music, Michael. I grew up in the states loving the Beatles, Elton John and other British artists as well.
This song is a Masterpiece. Their crowning achievement. So intricate. The message. So went with the times as the late 60s/70s became message music regardless of the style.
Yes!!! One of the best Motown songs ever. I was just a small kid when I first heard this and it grabbed me; the adult children asking about their father, the rhythm, the clapping; the sad twinge; it’s perfect. One of my top 25 songs.
I LOVE how invested you are in your musical journey! Your curiosity and awe in discovering all the new sounds is so lovely to witness! I’m so happy for you...you are literally opening up brand new, magical worlds for yourself. Yay! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
the world doesnt groove like this anymore, phat bass, funk clean wah guitar, super cool vocals, ...nowadays...twerking, techno, gangster hip hop, ...glad i grew up when music was an emotional experience.
One of the best songs of all time. The music, their voices, everything is just impeccable! The lady in the blue and red was on SOUL TRAIN!!! The whole idea there was to be seen on TV~ she caught your interest so it must have worked haha
On a side note: that is not the way we danced in the clubs back then. Most of us knew that the dancers from Soul Train all show boated for the tv screen!
There is an 11 minute version, a 22 minute version and a 44 minute version of Papa Was A Rolling Stone by the Temptations! The single version hit #1 on both the Soul and the Pop Charts in the early 70's and contributed to make the Temptations the #1 band in the USA during that time period. Temptations/Ball Of Confusion 1970 version
Love Motown & the Temptations ruled!!!! Love everything they ever touched!! Wish It Would Rain is my very favorite though it's hard to choose! Great reaction!🎶💖🎶
The Temptations were already in their late 6o's prime when I became aware of them in my art class in 1969. My art teacher would play their greatest hits record during class after she gave us the assignment for the day. Soon songs like, BALL OF CONFUSION, SUPERSTAR ( REMEMBER WHO YOUR REAL FRIENDS ARE), PSYCHEDELIC SHACK, and later on there would be, PLASTIC MAN, MASTERPIECE, & GLASSHOUSE would become the background musical landscape I painted to as the songs came and went through my life. These guys were the gold standard by which all other male groups would be judged. Vocals, dance moves, the outfits, harmonies, and the presentation of their music was never less than top notch. Just drop the needle and play. And then all you have to do is sit back and listen to the music. It doesn't get any easier than that. Enjoy.
