You got major props from me for that tune towards the end of the video! Now that I'm thinking about it Nintendo should remaster or better yet remake it for the Switch. You know a remaster of a game is good when the absolute worst thing you can say about it is that is doesn’t include the other 2 Prime Games which will probably be remastered individually as well.
Weren't they always color coded though? I thought the complaints were about supposedly the remastered ones having the wrong alpha level. Although I'm still conflicted on whether it was a mistake or intentional. Either way doesn't bother me too much. Just noticed they were different and slightly like Prime 2's doors.
it feels like samus just said "OH MAH GAWD ITS A REMASTERED VERSION OF A CLASSIC AND I GET A UPGRADE ON DETAIL JUST LIKE THE DAMN GAME!!!!!!!!! WoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-" thats what i felt like she said.
"Unless you're waiting for the physical copy" *raises hand* Still when I got it I played the crap out of it and loved every second of it. The updated visuals on the game were perfect. My only gripe and it's such a minor one is that I wish I could remap some of the buttons like have Y to shoot and A for Morph Ball.
Been really enjoying this, I tried to play the GameCube version on Wii. But i could never get used to the controls. But with the new dual stick control it’s really enjoyable
I kinda dig the new door designs better, feel more ethereal and less mechanical. The chozo were so advanced their technology basically trascended into magic, like the way the doors open and seem to just vanish in thin air.
@@moondawwg You'll be singing a different tune when I make a mod of this game that has the doors remained opened after opening them the first time. PLUS, I'm gonna put the screw attack up in prime 1 as well. Shortly after, the world will be mine to toy with 😈
The thing is there's a delay or trail effect added to the warmer objects which resembles more to how thermal vision works on real life. This was probably the original intent of the creators back in the GameCube era given how realistic they wanted to make the game but the GC was a lesser powerful hardware so they probably couldn't manage the effects without slowing down the fps.
@@Punkqurupeco Yeah. Just hope the patch it to at least tone down the effect since it's pretty sickening lol. Plus with how futuristic Metroid is, being like real life technology isn't really needed. I still don't mind the effect, just wish it wasn't so strong.
I'm telling all my friends to get that game. It's so amazing & holds up perfectly. It's a bit sad hard difficulty is hidden behind finishing the game, because the Normal difficulty is a bit too easy, even for new players.
Yeah. It was the same way in the original too. To be fair it seems to be a tradition in the Metroid series to unlock the Hard Mode after finishing the Normal Mode as I have yet to see one that has a Hard Mode and doesn't lock it until completing the main game. Personally doesn't bother me though as Metroidvanias are made to be replayable and have massive speedrun potential. The Metroid series has even rewarded speedrunning since the first game.
Something I tough is maybe they are preparing the terrain for metroid prime 4 I mean, metroid prime games are well known by metroid fans or gamecube fans, but for exemple with me whose first console was the wii, i knew theses games because of my older brother. I think they are not that popular (for my generation, and probably more for the following ones) and nintendo is remastering them so they are more known by the most people possible so the sequel can touch a larger public This is just my theorie and i like it, great job with this video like always !
Nah they've always been popular at least in the West but not so much Japan. It may have gained a lot more popularity in Japan in recent years though. To be fair I also never heard of it until the Wii where I started with Prime Trilogy. Then again I missed out on a lot of the major Gamecube games probably because I was still very young then. Ironically I started out on N64.
Didn't you notice the absence of the dynamic lighting of the laser beams? In the original the lighting of the firing is a major part of the visual character: with each shot you can easily follow the laser beam with your eyes because of the lighting of the scenery around which moves with the laser, even in daylight. With the charge beam or wave beam it's even brighter, each weapon have its lighting color. In that original method it provides a non stop dynamic firework show, and it contributes to the sensorial and claustrophobic atmosphere because each beam lighting gives proximity to the scenery, a physical presence of it, it allowes to feel the matter around us, its volume. We also can light some dark corners this way, it’s interactive. It contributes to the pleasure of shooting often in Metroid Prime, the feeling of incarnate the cybernetic bounty hunter with her crazy powers of lights. The original game was designed to emphasize that constant dynamic shooting aspect to fuel that feels experience. I understand the limitations of the new gorgeous lighting system, more static because precalculated in large part. But as a result it’s a different experience, less fun I would say.
I think it's because in the original it technically was just a multidirectional side light rather than a full lighting effect so it would be weird to use the same thing in a remaster but I understand what you mean. It actually is still there in the remaster though if you look closely. It's just way less strong and possibly it only shows up in certain rooms maybe.
Hey Albert. With the high possibility of echoes and corruption being remastered. What are some extra features, changes or things you want to see in these remasters?
First of all, thanks for watching it really does mean a lot. Well aside from the soundtrack getting remastered (with an option to swap between the new version and the classic ofc) - its something a bit hard to tell. The games are already masterpieces as is and so I'll try to keep it on the realistic side with the fact the focus is mostly on visuals and not adding new gameplay content. - Id like to see them touch up a bit more the animations in the future games like they did with Prime, the vanilla ones are amazing but I do like the small touchups to make Samus feel a bit more organic and I also hope the touch up some more of the models. -I hope they give the Annihilator Bean, Sonic Boom, Sunburst a bit extra visual kick to make them more iconic. -It also be nice if Echoes' remaster does include the multiplayer, in an ideal world have it play more like Hunter's but even if its the vanilla experience it be great. -For corruption it be neat if they gave it a dubbed version of it in Japanese, just for fun since the original is only in ENG (irc) -Most of my ideas for Corruption would better suit for a remake, but something along the lines of giving hypermode a bigger clutch so players dont spam it all the time. If they actually went ahead and had the time to make new visual content for each it be neat if they gave Echoes and Corruption a new armor for New Game Plus, like Fusion Suit was in Prime. I'd say the Zero Mission armor in Echoes since both came out the same year, and then in Corruption something closer to Dark Samus so it slowly looks like her armor by the end of the game. In a perfect world it be awesome to see some side-story content like Xenoblade did, but its clear that its not in the plans for the remaster, might be better so the team is just focused on polishing everything. Either way, sorry for the long reply, its hard to think a top of my head from changes since I think the games are perfects.
holy shit metroid prime was one of the first video games i ever played and to see this is awesome even though i hate remakes if i had a switch id buy one of these
Yeah. I'd say it's more of a pseudo remaster since the gameplay is pretty much identical but all the visual assets were remade from scratch. A bit like the Crash and Spyro remakes. Maybe that's why you liked it. Since most remakes anymore just remove everything that made the original so loved lol.
The fusion suit isn’t in the game and that makes me sad do you think it will come if fusion comes to the gba online they may update this game and give us the fusion suit?
It's actually still there, just way less noticable so you have to look closely. Possibly it may also only be in certain rooms but I'm not sure of that.
It was technically gone in every version beyond the original North American 1.0 version. Same with the updated Meta Ridley fight and the fixed Flaahgra theme.
In all my time as a Metroid fan, I’ve never been able to play the prime games. I never owned a game cube and I never got my hands on 3 or the trilogy for years. When I finally got my hands on trilogy the controls clashed with me so badly I couldn’t play prime and enjoy it for some reason (I managed to beat flaahgra but I gave up after that because it was just more of a struggle than fun for me). But having now bit the bullet and played the remaster I’m so glad I can say I actually enjoyed Metroid prime! I even managed 100% items and 95% logbook in my first play through.
I hope they fixed the Ice Shriekbat that was easily missable in the NTSC and all Trilogy versions of the game as it is the only reason i have never gotten 100% scans in this game.
i haven't looked into it much myself, but i am curious. does the Phazon Suit scene bring back her iconic pose after getting it? we all know how it was removed from the Trilogy version, and there was really no reason to do so
I think it might still be gone but I'm not positive on that. I do know they added back in the arm connon affects from certain beams and the water ripples from shooting into it that were both gone in Trilogy. I think some of this was mentioned in the video though. lol
Really love the Remaster. My sister and I played through it 2 times. One thing that doesn't feel right to me is the wavebuster. It uses a lot of missiles really quickly compared to the original gamecube (need to test the trilogy version) but compared to the flamethrower It's way too draining to be useful to me.
@@Aneko101hmm it's either a glitch, differences in difficulty, or a design tweak but like i mentioned Wavebuster drained 200+ missiles in around 2 seconds vs the Flamethrower that drains at a much slower rate which matches the original gamecube missile drain rate. If you're not noticing a difference what difficulty are you playing on?
@@Mainman0011 I'm more so going off gameplay from other people since I haven't been able to pick it up yet lol. Just from what I've seen it looked the same. Then again I grew up on the Trilogy version but even then I didn't notice it when watching Gamecube footage. Maybe it is there though and I just never paid attention to the number as much. Regardless, I always thought that in any version it uses up far too many missiles for how little damage it does lol. Same for the Flamethrower even if it uses less comparitively. I wish their damage was either increased significantly, used missiles much slower, or just used a charged shot like the Super Missile and Ice Spreader but uses 10 missiles like the latter.
The funny thing is, it's not just that the textures have been redone and stuff... From what I've seen, the graphics and models were redone _from the ground up!_ At least that's what everyone keeps saying, and that's what's, for some people at least, muddling up the lines between Remaster and Remake a little bit.
I still feel a little weird playing Metroid Prime without pointer controllers but I'm sure I'll get used to it but couldn't Imagine myself playing Prime 3 the same way
@@luke_of_astora pointer on switch sucks it keeps going crazy and aiming at the corners of the screen is jank It just doesn't work without the sensor bar
@@Punkqurupeco okay, so I had the same problem but I fixed it. Tip one - make sure it calibrates right. Tip three, if your pointer gets off-center, point it where you want center to be and tap the right trigger, which resets the alignment.

@@Training_Wheels Lmao Based. But actually the fusion suit it easily the easiest extra to unlock in Trilogy tbh. You could likely buy it by just playing less than half the game casually. The only thing I hate about the credit system (which btw forgot to mention is literally just what was in Prime 3 but applied to all 3 games) is the friend voucher system for green credits which you need not only the Wiiconnect24 thing for (rip Wifi on older systems) but other people who actually owned the game in your friends list to trade them with. Although the only major thing locked behind those to my knowledge was a screenshot feature that would send them to the mail screen on the Wii menu. Other than that it was a few gallery pieces, but thankfully beyond things like that, everything else is obtainable on your own just by playing and completing the games. Plus the few cryptic stuff in Prime 3.
my only nitpick is that I would have preferred if samus without her helmet looked like zero suit samus from smash ultimate since it's the most recent unmasked model we have of samus i think

One more day. One more day and I can finally enjoy this masterpiece once again.
I'm so excited to see if they remaster the other two
Good luck to everyone getting the physical version!
OKAY BRO YOU'RE OFFICIALLY A MAN OF CULTURE IN MY BOOK!!! Sorry but I had to say it even if it's already been said before, or not...
You got major props from me for that tune towards the end of the video! I thought I recognized that music and sure enough it's a hip-hop version of Afternoon Breeze from Custom Robo Battle Revolution on the Gamecube which is by far my favorite CR game of all time. Now that I'm thinking about it Nintendo should remaster or better yet remake it for the Switch. I would utterly cream my pants if they did lol I felt the game was underrated and had more potential than what was given, this was after I went through and beat it so long ago...
Thanks bro for being badass and I look forward to more of your content 😎👊
Thanks, I've been using the Custom Robo ost consistently through my videos and streams because I really like the game. I hope you enjoyed the video and that you consider watching the rest of my content (or rewatch them to spot the Custom Robo tracks and other easter eggs I hide)
No problem bro I've more than considered tbh lately I've found myself coming back into Nintendo and I gotta say that I've never felt better and I tell you what content like this are breaths of fresh air and really show me what I've been missing with Nintendo after being absent for at least maybe 15 or so years (I'll be 33 in June for reference) with Microsoft/Xbox that I've forgotten the joy of what Nintendo brought me growing up with things like Mario, Kirby, Zelda or Metroid even lol all I can say is keep up the good work homie
They literally remade all assets. Its not just "new texture, materials and lighting". The assets are completely redone
You know a remaster of a game is good when the absolute worst thing you can say about it is that is doesn’t include the other 2 Prime Games which will probably be remastered individually as well.
Nothing but, an honest review,Love it.
Cant wait to pick my copy up from the best buy Wednesday! Hope we get prime 2 as well
I'm glad I get a chance to try prime again and I hope the same happens with echoes and corruption
Right, the Fusion suit hasn't been added to the remaster. What if they added a Dread version of the Samus armor later down the line?
Bought and finished it day one, amazing.
The thing with the doors is that they made them all color coded in this remaster, this is emulating how it was in the original metroid and further on
Weren't they always color coded though? I thought the complaints were about supposedly the remastered ones having the wrong alpha level. Although I'm still conflicted on whether it was a mistake or intentional. Either way doesn't bother me too much. Just noticed they were different and slightly like Prime 2's doors.
Had my first and second playthroughs on the remaster. Might be my new favorite Metroid. Hope to see Echoes and Corruption remastered.
it feels like samus just said "OH MAH GAWD ITS A REMASTERED VERSION OF A CLASSIC AND I GET A UPGRADE ON DETAIL JUST LIKE THE DAMN GAME!!!!!!!!! WoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-" thats what i felt like she said.
"Unless you're waiting for the physical copy"
*raises hand*
Still when I got it I played the crap out of it and loved every second of it. The updated visuals on the game were perfect. My only gripe and it's such a minor one is that I wish I could remap some of the buttons like have Y to shoot and A for Morph Ball.
No amiibo suport?
Imagine using the Metriod Dread suit thanks to the amiibo.
I hate BOTH doors. I only wanna open them ONCE....
...... - *ONCE.*
@@Training_Wheels stay on the training wheels, you're not ready for the real world kid.
@@moondawwg
You'll be singing a different tune when I make a mod of this game that has the doors remained opened after opening them the first time.
PLUS, I'm gonna put the screw attack up in prime 1 as well.
Shortly after, the world will be mine to toy with 😈
@@Training_Wheels I was wrong you're no kid, you're a madman.
This is a love letter to all of us lovers of Samosa
My One issue is that the parasite queen is WAY to over brightened. I mean it kinda makes sense but it also kinda loses something the original had
Might just be the new lighting. Doesn't bother me personally.
can we talk about why the thermal visor looks extra blurry?
Indeed, I'm waiting for the physical edition
**cries**
I am so happy that the remaster is good
Something I tough is maybe they are preparing the terrain for metroid prime 4
I mean, metroid prime games are well known by metroid fans or gamecube fans, but for exemple with me whose first console was the wii, i knew theses games because of my older brother. I think they are not that popular (for my generation, and probably more for the following ones) and nintendo is remastering them so they are more known by the most people possible so the sequel can touch a larger public
This is just my theorie and i like it, great job with this video like always !
Babe wake up, new Orpheon just dropped!
I can finally live my dream of looking forward to playing Corruption without completely annihilating my wrists.
-For corruption it be neat if they gave it a dubbed version of it in Japanese, just for fun since the original is only in ENG (irc)
-Most of my ideas for Corruption would better suit for a remake, but something along the lines of giving hypermode a bigger clutch so players dont spam it all the time.
I just got the spider ball. Didn’t save😢
I'll cop the physical copy once i finish majoras mask
I'd say the most annoying thing is the beam shooting multiple times before letting you charge, it's annoying. Other than that, I love it!
Waiting for that physical release
The fusion suit isn’t in the game and that makes me sad do you think it will come if fusion comes to the gba online they may update this game and give us the fusion suit?
Possibly. I see many also saying how it'd be cool to do it but with the Dread Suit.
@@Aneko101 that’d also would be cool
@@mega-eevee7 Yeah. There's 4 different suits from Dread like with Fusion so it'd work just fine lol.
You also can't see Samus' eyes quite as well as you could in the past
Weird. To me it seemed even more visible in some places. Maybe depends on the lighting in whatever area you're in?
I honestly think the doors look better in the remaster
I agree. They look more like classic Metroid doors.
@@MrKevin486 To me they look like a cross between Prime 1 and 2's doors.
Lets ask to Retrostudios to fix the light over de walls and surfaces when you make a shot of any beam.
It's actually still there, just way less noticable so you have to look closely. Possibly it may also only be in certain rooms but I'm not sure of that.
I prefer the new door style. They're easier to see, especially on the small handheld screen.
I never played the trilogy version so i didnt realize why scan dashing was gone until i saw this video.
It was technically gone in every version beyond the original North American 1.0 version. Same with the updated Meta Ridley fight and the fixed Flaahgra theme.
They missed the chance to give you the option to wear the fusion armor like back on the gc
Or also the Dread Suit
I bought it right after the direct this game was my child hood
Waiting for the physical release and going to grab jt with my bro . I was shocked it came out the day they did the direct.
Now I just need them to Shadow drop Wind Waker in Twilight Princess and we'll be all set
Love your video
It's excellent. My only issues are the controls not being as accurate as they were on wii. And the lighting is too dark in most places
It pains me so much to have to wait for the physical version
@Skankhunt42 yep
Okay, no seriously, are you the one who does the art for these videos? The way Zero Suit Samus is drawn makes her look so adorable
Just finished it. Amazing game with great atmosphere, sound and kind of mistery in the story. Graphics are also fantastic. Overall great game!
I hope they fixed the Ice Shriekbat that was easily missable in the NTSC and all Trilogy versions of the game as it is the only reason i have never gotten 100% scans in this game.
Ice Bats are still gone after you get the thermal visor
I'm waiting to pick up my pre-order already paid in full.
I bought it twice, and since launch, im on my fourth playthrough, let alone the 6+ times i beat it on gamecube, wii and wiiu.
i haven't looked into it much myself, but i am curious. does the Phazon Suit scene bring back her iconic pose after getting it? we all know how it was removed from the Trilogy version, and there was really no reason to do so
I think it might still be gone but I'm not positive on that.
Huh, didn't seem different from what I've seen. Maybe there's a comparison of it though.
@@Aneko101 ahh gotcha, I'm starting to play through the trilogy version now. I'll let you know if I see any difference :)
@@Mainman0011 Okay. Wouldn't surprise me considering Prime 1 had so many changes between versions lol.
damn those graphics tho
Wait....
Are u telling me, that there isn't a remastered version of fusion suit?! (Especially the model from samus returns) Or even a Dread suit?!
Did they shorted the artifact hunt
Sadly no. To be fair though it's at least one of those things you can do as you play the rest of the game once you already know about it.
One more nitpick for you! The acquisition of the Phazon Suit cutscene from the OG version. They changed it in the Trilogy version.
YES. Why didn't they use the really cool one?!
The way she just kinda stands up in the alternate version isn't as cool as her surging with Phazon energy before the suit is able to channel it
another nitpick i have is smaus suit has lost the shine it use to have i liked how shiny it was in the prime games
Still seemed plenty shiny to me. Maybe the new lighting makes it look less shiny in some areas?
The funny thing is, it's not just that the textures have been redone and stuff... From what I've seen, the graphics and models were redone _from the ground up!_ At least that's what everyone keeps saying, and that's what's, for some people at least, muddling up the lines between Remaster and Remake a little bit.
Yeah. I'd say it's similar to the Crash and Spyro remakes in that it's functionally identical gameplay wise but entirely new visually.
@@Aneko101 yeah, exactly!
I still feel a little weird playing Metroid Prime without pointer controllers but I'm sure I'll get used to it but couldn't Imagine myself playing Prime 3 the same way
Just dock it and turn the pointer controls on! That's mostly how I've been playing it.
@@luke_of_astora pointer on switch sucks it keeps going crazy and aiming at the corners of the screen is jank
It just doesn't work without the sensor bar
@@Punkqurupeco okay, so I had the same problem but I fixed it. Tip one - make sure it calibrates right. Tip two, make sure you're pointing at center when you come out of menus, because for some reason that resets center. Tip three, if your pointer gets off-center, point it where you want center to be and tap the right trigger, which resets the alignment.
I wish the fusion suit was in his game
Or the Dread Suit. Either one would be cool in a future update.
I never cared about the fusion suit. Thought it would've been cool to have as a kid... but I didn't run around trying to mow lawns to make it happen 😅
@@Training_Wheels In the Trilogy Version, you can unlock it simply by earning enough in game credits by beating certain bosses, collecting the artifacts, etc.
@@Aneko101
▪️
That's interesting, and cool and all - but in my life right now, I wouldn't go purposefully go through all that 4 it. As a teen, yea I most likely would've...
Maybe one day I will be a crazy old man in an old folks home - and I will unlock it then. After I do, I will scream at all the other home dwellers of how I got the fusion suit and probably none of them will the slightest fckking clue as to what I'm talking about and I won't care.
If they ask what I'm talking about I'm gonna get pissed off and scream at them for not knowing about metroid stuff.
Ima be SENILE AF 🐸
Yesterday i found Samus return for the 3ds and gos that remake it's amazing!!!
❤w❤
Bombermon Hero ost 💃🕺
my only nitpick is that I would have preferred if samus without her helmet looked like zero suit samus from smash ultimate since it's the most recent unmasked model we have of samus i think
i bought it because i wanted to play it, and had a lot of fun with it, and also got Prime Trilogy on the Wii U, because the store is closing soon, and 20€, that's was a great deal
i been waiting for physical version and everyone keep talking about it and i can not do anything about 22 where are you
