The days of GH greatness! There will never ever come another time like this. I'm so glad the glorious GH of the 80s was my decade. These were the golden years of GH and you know what, I knew it even then. I remember as a kid thinking this show will never reach the heights it is at now. Luke, Laura, Robert, Holly, Frisco, Felicia, Anna, Duke, Sean, Tiffany, Blackie- never will there be a collection of legends like this again :)
Got this song in my head today out of nowhere and decided to search for it. Haven't heard it or thought about it for 40 years! I never knew this was actually on Jack Wagner's debut album. I'm surprised this wasn't a hit for him. It has that hit sound to it!
Wow! I started watching GH around 1982 when I was about 6 or 7 and I remember singing this song all over my house and my sister & I having John Stamos posters in our room. Thanks for posting this!!!
They hit pay dirt with Jack Wagner - a self-taught musician more interested in acting but who could actually sing - he had great vocal range and could sing so well without any accompaniment - didn't need to be recorded (though they did it anyway for his performances) - he could sing without all the other enhancements. It's pretty silly this wasn't Frisco's tune (instead of Blackie) - it is not an easy tune to sing -
Hard to believe this is the same show that's on now. I was born in the wrong era for soaps haha. Totally different format back then, and clearly much higher production value. The 80s were just so much better
You really missed out. These were the glory days of GH!! Luke and Laura, Frisco and Felicia, Robert and Holly, Duke and Anna- the 4 biggest supercouples in the history of the show were born of this era. Not to mention characters like Blackie Parrish, Noah Drake, etc. The adventures on the road, the romance you couldn't wait to get home to see everyday, the intrigue, the humour, the love. The show had it all. Excitement every single day made it the highest rated daytime show o tv that decade. I'm so so glad this was my era. I refuse to watch what they calll GH now. It doesn't even remotely begin to compare and never ever will again :)
@@rhondathompson6942 Hi! Those couples you mention weren't introduced until the 90s, at which point GH had fallen from #1 daytime tv show in the ratings. The show lost its ranking and never again regained it at the end of 1990 and that is when many of the greats like Jack Wagner, Finola Hughes, and Tristan Rogers were leaving. It really is true that the 80s were the pinnacle of the show in terms of ratings, stories, and supercouples. It would never again reach those heights.
Oh my gosh! After watching Jack Wagner on General Hospital today, I've been searching youtube for old songs. I can't believe that I remember all of the words.
I remember seeing this all those years ago and wondering why Frisco's name wasn't in the title instead of Blackie. Of course John Stamos was the young star on General Hospital and Jackie Wagner's character was new.
Sneak Attack was the introduction of Frisco Jones to the show and only song Blackie wrote---it was the subsequent song that Josh sang for him when brushed him off and then when he couldn't come up with a new song that he claimed the new song as his
Speaking of Blackie. He was sentenced to prison for murder. Chronology speaking. Shouldn’t he have served his time and released by now? Surprised John Stamos doesn’t return to reprise his role as Blackie. Kinda like what Rick Springfield when he reprised his role as Noah Drake. At least for a short time.
This was a great song! This could have been on the radio at the time..just as good as any Cheap Trick songs popular at the time.Could someone tell me who the kid in the blue is farthest to the left?
Where's the footage of Frisco writing "Make Me Believe It" after all this and taking Blackie's spotlight. The guy who co-produced Jack's album went on to produce and co-write Alanis' debut album - Glen Ballard.
Mike He was living with Rick and Leslie Webber in 84.It turned out he was Ginny Son and Derek Barrington was real Father.Derek married Lorena Sharp.Derek and Lorena Left PC Summer 86 and Rick and Ginny in Nov 86.MIke Webber left 86. He was about 13 in 86 so he be much older now.
Is blackie still in jail? As I remember he was innocent but took the punishment. I know Stamos will never return but did anyone ever mention blackies fate?
I heard about these guys who went to Montreaux ( by the Lake Geneva shoreline) and recorded at the Grand Hotel. even though it was empty cold and bare, they made their music there...
Funny how many musicians I have talked to recently that recorded on the road for their albums using hotel bathrooms. LOL. So much for the bad acoustics theory.
😂😂😂. This is sooo cheesy; I don’t even know where to begin. “Blackie and the Riff & Raff?” 😂😂😂😂. Destined for the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame. 😅😅. John Stamis = D actor!

You are right. At the time, the show was awesome.
Gloria Monte days. she'd bring in John Calocos , Elizabeth Tayler, , and the Ice Princess story line!
Watched this live in the 80’s, I will always love this song!
Great song, JW looks great in leather pants ❤

He'll always be Frisco ❤️❤️❤️❤️
GH needs to bring back stuff like this back on TV, their ratings will go up if they can reach teenage audenience like they did back in the 80's.
It'll never happen

This is gold. I remember this from back in the day. I loved this song. I still have the cassette.

Love Jack Wagner...........Soo talented!!!!!!!!!
Yes I have this Jack Wagner album
blackie and frisco can make me believe to be lady of there heart during a sneak attack.still handsome after all these years
I started watching GH in '78, when I was 3. I'm still watching!!!
Thanks so much for bringing us back in time to enjoy this once again. Been so long.
Sneak Attack was the introduction of Frisco Jones to the show and only song Blackie wrote---it was the subsequent song that Josh sang for him when brushed him off and then when he couldn't come up with a new song that he claimed the new song as his
Blackie didn’t write it. He stole it from a hotel bellboy and passed it off as his own.
I love how everyone else leaves with the groupies, except for Frisco. He knew there was something better out there for him. :)
John was a rockstar on general hospital full house and the beach boys
I remember Frisco and Blackie but forgot they actually performed together
OMG I loved singing this with mother Alice when I was a little girl hahaha good times!!
LOL, this is ridiculously awesome. Thanks for posting!
Cool! I never saw this before with John and Gary!! : )
Uncle Jesse was SO young. lol
Mike Webber
(David Mendenhall, 1980-1986)
Adoptive son of Dr. Rick Webber. Biological son of Derek Barrington and Ginny Blake.
This was the SHIT back in the day
Oy am I old. I totally remember watching this. (:
@ronnyber wow my use to watch that show when I was a little kid. I remember watching this. its crazy thanks for sharing!
god damn i would of love to see lnb records book eddie and the idol rich and the riff raffs
So blackie was a badass rockstar before jesse became a badass superstar
Blackie stole Sneak attack and passed it off as his own. It was written by Josh, a bellboy who was murdered. He was played by Jimmy McNichol.
Actually he wrote Sneak Attack and stole Make Me Believe it.
Speaking of Blackie. He was sentenced to prison for murder. Chronology speaking. Shouldn’t he have served his time and released by now? Make an appearance at Nurse's Ball
@lasvegasjh Had it on a VHS tape. thought it would be fun to look at 25-30 years later.
You hear like 1 girl screaming. This concert was so staged and so cheesy!!! LOL! Thanks for posting. I remember watching this.
I like the way to sing and especially when he was playing in the soap opera Top Models
Uncle Jesse and the Rippers!!!
Played jesses band in full house!!!
Love it Frisco wwas the man and blackie too, Good old days before super couples were destroyed
I don't remember but I do recall that as audience members we knew who it was.
Oh my !
Have mercy.
Anyone else wondering who was on the phone when it rang in the hotel room? It's seems ominous... ;-)
This was a great song! This could have been on the radio at the time..just as good as any Cheap Trick songs popular at the time.Could someone tell me who the kid in the blue is farthest to the left?
David Mendenhall who played Mike Blake.
katymvt Good research, KatyMvt.
Jay Lacky Techically good memory, LOL.
It was on the radio soon after, Jack Wagner had a Lp
Frisco and Blackie, sigh. If only Dr. Noah Drake was there and magically was singing rather than doing surgery.
those guy
Gh struck gold w jack
Love it lol!
woah where did you find this? wow!
SNEAK ATTACK!
Sneak Attack was my favorite Blackie/Frisco song. Not Make Me Believe It.
I want to go home
Where's the footage of Frisco writing "Make Me Believe It" after all this and taking Blackie's spotlight. The guy who co-produced Jack's album went on to produce and co-write Alanis' debut album - Glen Ballard.
damn if gh had a brain they bring the riff raff back and bring back lois and brenda let the riff raffs work for lnb records
Gh used to rocked
+rhonda thompson I know right
rhonda thompson a little late to do that, not a big audience for 50 something bands 😂
Good luck trying to get Stamos, though.
I forget her name but I remember blackies girlfriend smasks her head and dies. blackie goes to prison
Her name was Lou
who was the kid on this show
Mike

I worked in the hotel business. We would never allow someone to use it as a recording studio. The acoustics are pretty bad, too.
have many friends in rock - they will use the bathrooms to record in.
+Fifi Keyser I never said they wouldn't try it. I merely said they will get kicked out.
I heard about these guys who went to Montreaux ( by the Lake Geneva shoreline) and recorded at the Grand Hotel. even though it was empty cold and bare, they made their music there...
