Tbh, I think she shouldn't have done it. I know it's all in jest and of course she has every right to do what she wants here but it just feels like it's in poor taste. Self-deprecating humor is one thing (like the Jeb Bush cameo in the Emmy's skit) but this just doesn't elicit any positive response in me.

this is the first time i'm happy hillary lost. she just lost all of her credibility in my eyes and frankly, that smile of her lost the little charm it had as well. i think she would be a terrible president. whoever does anything like that, is inherently corrupt. she's not much better than her husband.

Clearly, what Nikki Haley was saying is that we'd like to just watch an awards show for the music and awards as an escape instead of every single artist getting up there and making a political statement. All those artists have platforms and they can do all their virtue-signalling on their Twitter and Instagram but how about we just have a couple of hours where it's just about music and not about politics? I don't think that's unreasonable to ask.
That said, I'm surprised to see Hillary called out here. I don't watch this show but my assumption is that, like all these types of shows, it usually calls out conservatives and gives a pass to liberals. I have no political affiliation (I'm a Zimbabwean living in Australia) but it's amazing how the same people who criticize Trump's base for supporting him no matter what he says/does do the exact same for Hillary.

Do you want me to list all the things Hillary has gotten away with throughout her career but everybody looks away just because of who she is? She is a corrupt criminal who would be serving multiple sentences in prison if her name wasn't Clinton. That's an undeniable truth.
You're not supposed to compare her to Trump in particular. Compare her to what you'd expect from someone in that position. Both of them deserve criticism. You can't say the one you think is slightly better gets a pass.
