This was one of the highlights of the Personal Story for me as not only are you reunited with many of the people you've adventured with throughout the story, but you also have Trahearne's touching words to guide you as you face impossible odds together in a last stand, and the music makes his words even more poignant: "Here, at the end, I am glad that it's just you and me. We will cleanse Orr together-as we were meant to do."
I helped someone finish their story last night and when it got down to the cleansing of Orr and this song playing while Trahearne did his spell and you protected him, we were both super moved by it. Like "I'm not crying, you're crying!" It's just such a beautiful song, with lyrics and without, and that part of the story paired with it is just such a great experience. 10/10, fucking love Guild Wars 2!
Thank you so much for making this available. I was taken aback when this started to play as I was fighting. Absolutely most wonderful unexpected moving moment.
The "Source of Orr"... This song combined with this quest... Oh my gosh, it was ridiculously emotional. I was like, it's all or nothing. Time to save Orr.
Congrats on your marriage and all the luck to you guys (however log it's been). Here's to many years yet to come! (As a norn for life I don't know what to do except toast to you, your good health and happiness). All the best, my friend. May we one day meet in Tyria. If you ever come to the Shiverpeaks, I'll invite you for a beer or some ale.
So I played through The Source of Orr for the first time recently. I literally started crying when this started playing during the end part of that quest, when Trahearne was doing his ritual. Edit: forgot to mention that I was on a Sylvari.
This final chapter in Orr has me utterly convinced that the pact commander is canonically Sylvari. This is the song that plays in the Grove. This is the lullaby that the Pale Tree sings to her unborn Sylvari while they Dream. Most of the playerbase are on humans and Norns, and I love my Iron Legion to death, but Guildwars 2 is a Sylvari story.
Lyrics: Instrumental - ends at 0:44 Fear not this night you will not go astray though shadow's fall still the stars find their way awaken from a quiet sleep hear the whispering of the night awaken as the silence grows in the solitude of the night darkness spreads through all the land and your weary eyes open silently sunsets have forsaken all the most far off horizons nightmares comes when shadows grow eyes closed and heartbeat slow fear not this night you will not go astray though shadows fall (still the stars find their way) and you can always be strong lift your voice, at the first light of dawn dawn is just a heartbeat away and hope is just a sunrise away --- i hope that helped, there are minor errors in here but its singable lol
Just completed Source of Orr quest and when this played i teared up especially with Trahearne's words and everyone coming to your aid.Not to mention that i fought like a demon when this beautiful piece started to play. Tybalt and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice would be proud. For the Pact!
I love this piece I played source of orr so many times just to hear it there is that lovely feeling in that mission at the end when this starts to play
This could maybe be the most emotional song I have heard in my life. It brings me to tears almost every time, I'd say every time, but I listen to it at least twenty times a day. : )
If you like this music, search Jeremy Soule. He's the one that made it. He also did the music for Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and the World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria expansion, as well as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. He's probably one of the most famous video game composers.
naive and unknowing I just about to complete the Grove for my Map and only the Vistas were left and as soon as I clicked the first one and this Music roll in. I almost broke down in Tears. So beautiful ♥
Hi, i have used this song to feel better during my wifes battle with cancer. It represent week 7 of the 18 week event. Sorry for not asking in advance, but I had little time to do so.
FYI, there are two versions of this song. The other one is just a shortened version of this one, but I thought it was relevant to point out. This is the one that plays at the end of the story after the final boss fight against Zhaitan, and the shortened one is the one that plays during The Source of Orr.
I played Source of Orr story (before finishing personal story) like 30 times ...really... just for the music after Zhaitans Death and now i have to say TOTALY WORTH IT !!!!!!
Fear not this night You will not go astray Though shadows fall Still the stars find their way Awaken from a quiet sleep Hear the whispering of the wind Awaken as the silence grows In a solitude of the night Darkness spreads throughout the land And your weary eyes open silently Sunsets have forsaken all The most far off horizons Nightmares come when shadows grow Eyes close and heartbeats slow Fear not this night You will not go astray Though shadows fall Still the stars find their way And you can always be strong Lift your voice with the first light of dawn! Dawn's just a heartbeat away Hope's just a sunrise away
imo, even though it's really really late to share an honest opinion. I really hate how HoT killed all of them right away. Tbh, i like them to continue on journey together, but then, Mordremoth happened. -_-
@@averagebreadslice1213 I think exactly the same as you, and that only makes me angrier lmao. The rule number one of a writer is to never do what the readers say or ask, and killing an essential character just to please the audience... it's terrible. They could have developed him further and better in the next expansions, but no :')
I haven't played GW2 in over 2 years. I miss it... but I don't have the time anymore to play. The game has progressed too much now as well to catch up.
Jeremy Soule, thank you for this beautiful composition.

I miss you Trahearne! I love this soundtrack sooo much! He is sad but at the same time really epic and fantastic beautiful! I love Guild Wars 2 !!!
This was composed by Jeremy Soule, the same man who made Skyrim's Soundtrack!
Yeah, one of the best composers!

I wish we had the whole song. This is beautiful.
I walked down the aisle to this song

Fear not this night
you will not go astray
though shadow's fall
still the stars find their way
awaken from a quiet sleep hear the whispering of the night
awaken as the silence grows in the solitude of the night
darkness spreads through all the land and your weary eyes open silently
sunsets have forsaken all the most far off horizons
nightmares comes when shadows grow
eyes closed and heartbeat slow
fear not this night
you will not go astray
though shadows fall
(still the stars find their way)
and you can always be strong
lift your voice, at the first light of dawn
dawn is just a heartbeat away
and hope is just a sunrise away

That scene put tears to my eyes when I was playing it; even while I was spewing arrows at all the risen.
For uploading this and providing a download, I love you. Thank you!
This theme completely caught me by surprise while cleansing Orr. It suddenly turned all darn emotional and stuff. Absolutely beautiful.

Why do people always compare this with "The source of Orr" i found it far more emotional when it started playing while Zhitan was falling to his doom.
I think of Tybalt each time I hear this song Q_Q
Bia B Oh gawd, Why did you have to mention him ;(
poor tybalt. At least he went down like a true hero. He will forever be missed
I think of all the people dead during the war, Tybalt, Forgal, Tonn and many others
Same; -;
Bia B poor tybalt...
Leaving an apple a day at his shrine…. :(

This song reminds me of Tybalts death... I cryed when he died... TYBALT WHYYYYY
I almost quit the game when that happened.
And I was pissed off when you had to fight a with basically is a nightmare version of him when you fight moredramoth
All these comments about the "Source of Orr" personal story quest give me goose bumps all over the place. Thanks guys!
I wish tybalt could see every fruit of his sacrifice

I never read such beautiful mmo lore that even some books struggle to match!
Fear Not This Night is one of greatest songs I've ever heard. Every time it gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes.
I love this song im gonna use a section of it for my gymnastics floor routine music :)

Is there a full version? Or does it just cut off like that?
I don't know anything about this game, but its music is absolutely amazing.
Still listening to this masterpiece in 2021 anyone?
I love it, just where is the 2nd phase for instrumental version (original is 5min)? :(
Hello, thanks for your upload :) do you know where I can get the 5 minutes instrumental version?
I waited nine years to do personal story, complained the entire time about how bad it was, then this song played
