its a true shame that people can't truly appreciate all the hard work and many years of training to takes to master an art, much less understand its core principles.

Of course this not only "Ninjutsu" but that is the special in bujinkan. The bujinkan tai and ninjutsu are a compilation of 6 Samurai schools (Ryu/Ryuha) and 3 Ninja Schools. Sôke Masaaki Hatsumi deservse respect for his lifetime work.

For those suggesting techniques look slow : it is done slow to teach how it is done and also to promote safety. No one in their right mind wants to be liable for injury.

    • @pablohanc
      @pablohanc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

When teaching martial arts, you demonstrate slow, and practice slow a few times..... But you build up the speed (otherwise you're in for a rude awakening when you have to do it for real). The sensei generally will demo fast to show the technique, then slowly to show you how it's done. Where is the fast footage? And where is the footage with someone genuinely trying to resist (ie, not a compliant assistant).

I've trained ninjutsu (not _REALLY_ related to my nickname which i got from my days playing quakeworld). And i can say that this really works, really hurts, and if did fast it can invalidate someone forever. We used to train so when making grips the opponent should always try to escape
Now, in real life, i've mostly "boxed" in fights, but ninjutsu gave me a good sense of space when fighting multiple opponents. And good low kicks too. 8 months ago i had a serious street fight against 2, and won

I did this for 4 years and I can tell, thes techniques are very bonebreakin' and very painful. Most of these moves are so quick and so "hidden executed", you cannot imagine their effectness. It's hard to understand what happens in these videos, but I think, each black-belt will agree with me. If you have an eye for these techniques, you know, what actually happens and where it hurts. And THIS is only for demonstration, in a real situation it will be like 5 times faster.

ANY MARTIAL ART OR COMBAT EXPERIENCE INNATELY TEACHES DISCIPLINE, FOCUS, CONTROL, AND SELF-PRESERVATION. These are the truly important techniques! It is the state of mind, that primal survival instinct which resides within us all, that we must utilize to master ourselves. Irregardless of the school of discipline you learn it from, it's doctrine is universal: survive.

ninjutsu in essence isn't a battle strategy - it's a way of life, involving physical, mental, & spiritual aspects. it's not about doing unnecessary harm to or killing people so much as it is about self-protection and survival. real ninjutsu isn't meant to be a competitive martial art or a technique used by the military, but rather a means of overcoming one's personal inhibitions so that he can defend himself from outside threats.

      @hannorta7302 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes he is pretty good. But many think this is not effective and can not be used for real situation. They should not underestimate what this old man is showing. He is very dangerous. He can simple kill somebody. I dont like how they guard them self. But this is not all what is about a fighting system. Time and Future weapons change the way we fight. And from person to person we create the art how we defend our self. in real situation we decide what we use and how.a growing prozess. The pain and the seek for the truth will show you in the battle that we doing something right or wrong. The old Teachings should not be forget and realy like i say before it should not be underestimate by the young generation.
To me a martial artist should be effective in his skill even in a high age .Thats what is all about. and to survive. You cant do the things you have done in young age. And thats the very important key for the young one. Dont waste your energy like a bruce lee. You will not survive so long in a real battle, without weapons and for sure not if your ass get old.
Yes thats a great skill and knowledge he have. And the funny thing is he is not showing us what he realy can do. Thats here is still childplay!
I wish him best and you too.

funny as the over exaggerated moves may look, the main point everybody misses is that they are designed to teach you balance and flow. even in mma, if you cant keep your center and advantageous positioning relative to what your opponent is doing, you usually lose. its finally making sense after all these years. i had a wrestler try to take me down recently by stepping in and behind me with the leg for a throw setup. i didnt even know what he was doing, i just felt his weight and countered

    (3) The other side to ninjitsu is hidden in the art of something as simple as throwing shaved glass into the enemies eyes, or dropping poison in their drink. The key to the way of stealth is that you are always effective. I hope everyone keeps that in mind. Stealth warrior vs toe to toe brawler...two different experts.

@telemetricsT Ninjitsu was around for longer than 300 years, and remember the ninja had to kill in self defense in order to protect themselves and their families, because they were hunted by the samurai because originally the Shinobi(ninja) were called Mountain Mystics because they were seeking self enlightenment, but the priests of the ruling class believed that only priests were allowed to be enlightened and sent their armies to destroy them.

@Arteanor plus, MOST Ninjutsu originated from the city of Iga, not Koka city.
Obviously Hatsumi learn't ninjutsu from takamatsu and opened the Bujinkan.
Then Tanamura opened the Genbukan, so I'd say our ninjutsu school is extremely authentic and has a heritage that most organisations cannot claim, plus as the Shinobi-Kai, we're the oldest ninjutsu organisation in the UK.
Peter Brown sensei helped set up one of the first ninjutsu seminars in Europe with the help of the 'Shadows of Iga'.

Lee believed that "the best fighter is not a Boxer, Karate or Judo man. The best fighter is someone who can adapt to any style, to be formless, to adopt an individual's own style and not following the system of styles." @Arteanor Fujita Seiko... Everyone knows (who is educated in such ways) that Toshitsugu Takamatsu was the last 'real-on-mission' ninja, who trained Hatsumi and Shote Tanamura, ofcourse Tanamura was one of Hatsumi's Shihans who went and opened the Genbukan, which is a harder school than the Bujinkan, similar to how the Gyokko Ryu and Koto Ryu schools are opposites but still sister schools. My sensei Peter Brown was awarded NiDan by BOTH Hatsumi and Tanamura... cant get more authentic than that!

@fardisghomeshi cant agree. yes, it isnt modern, but its definitly not battlefield oriented. The samurai were battlefield oriented, while ninjas were stealth, moslty for espionage, less for assasinations. There were ninjas for combat and battlefields, but they were adapted differently. And im afraid that if a ninja and some other fighter like kickboxer, mauthai or other would fight in a ring and both were not allowed to kill, the ninja would be in a big disadvantage..

Does anyone ACTUALLY know the true origins of Ninjutsu? For those of you debating this, I will say, time has changed it as a discipline. As a Martial Artists I say, what we teach/learn now is only a fraction of the true disciplines. All disciplines must adapt to change. More weapons means more risk, this requires new techniques.

Besides the sense of space, ninjutsu practitioners looks for making damage in many spots in the same movement. A step to a side could be a knee strike in the opponent legs.. a defense becomes an attack against the arms. The thing is, all this is barely noticeable unless you know what to look for.
Of course ninjutsu as seen here will not save you, but the real benefits are not evident until you absorb those kind of movements.
    BTW, i haven't practiced bujinkan ninjutsu in 8 years :( .

    (2) You need the brawlers like the UFC/MMA fighters on the front lines, bashing faces and breaking skulls. However, you also need the assassin-esque warriors that are slitting throats and causing detrimental damage to the enemy as a whole. You put up a Muay Thai fighter vs a ninja type fighter, it'd be hard to tell. But to be honest, the Muay Thai fighter, if the ninja was good at what he did, would never know he was being stalked and or killed.

VERY!
And the fact that Takamatsu never left the country DOESN't mean that he never provided a Nijutsu service to the active government.

Harping on which is "better" is like debating on which traditional martial art is "better" than the rest. Ninjitsu like other martial arts, teaches skills tailored to the history of which they came. MMA Fighters fight with strict rules in the ring. There's no debate.

@VoyageurCountry Actually, boxing is SAFER when done barefisted. Due to how hard the skull is, you can break your hand unless you hit it exactly right, meaning most boxers back in the day before gloves RARELY aimed for the face. At most, you got a few cuts and bruises, maybe a broken bone. Death was very rare. In the last thirty years alone, there have been 200 deaths from injuries sustained by boxers. The gloves give an illusion of safety, making them hit harder, causing brain damage and death.

@mingofilaz We cannot show you a full contact ninjutsu video, because if it was full contact, people would break limbs, or even die.

    and my PERSONAL FAVORITE.
"So yes, these “famous” densho, I had the chance to see them and read a few. Now to say that Takamatsu sensei created these schools is hard to say, and to prove… Even Hatsumi sensei says openly that he doesn’t know. "
LOVE to hear that, FROM KACEM,,, how is THAT for credibility?
he is your groups historian in your pocket, and even HE says he, and your soke, aren't sure...

by stepping forward/diagonally and moving perfectly with him in the middle of his stepping in. its wierd but i felt what he was trying to do in a split second and countered, pushing him at the right moment using his momentum to push him forward to the ground while i just walked on past him in passing. its really wierd but idk what else to say. it was pretty cool though. he was like wtf that never fails. oh well. sorry

@mingofilaz They try to, and Hatsumi uses that movement to get them EVEN MORE out of balance... And that's only the most basic part of what he's doing.
MMA is a sport, this is an art, the depth of them are completely different. MMA keeps what works best and leaves the rest while Bujinkan cultivates every aspect of the techniques which have survived for hundreds of years. It's like comparing a bunch of guys playing with softairguns to real soldiers that have real weapons.

@mingofilaz i agree that in a real fight you find out what works for you, and mma is showing everyone what direction martial arts should be taking, what i'm saying is you should go find out for yourself what is crap and what isn't before you make negative comments, i'm sure there are parts of your kung fu that you could use in mma. We as martial artists should always keep an open mind otherwise we wouldn't be able to improve.

Its takes eyars to become good in this, so you can defend your self in the strrets, because its a large scale of techniques.
I dont like Bujinkan because of the way they theach, but i respect Hatsumi for his skills.

    uh, problem then....
there are no ninjas in the bujinkan...
see takamatsu, the guy that taught hatsumi taught him all he did, but told him parts were 'ninjutsu/ninpo'. something that according to bujinkan scholar/member Kacem Zoughari even hatsumi isn't sure.
i also think it is a little suspect that he only left the kukishin ryu AFTER he had taught 'kukishin ryu ninpo' to hatsumi and tanemura.... when kuki refused him a branch ryuha, he left and made up togakure

I've been developing a one-handed style of Krav Maga, as you can probably guess this is DIFFICULT. I believe all people deserve the right to defend themselves no matter the hindrance. Some say I'm mad, I'm not, I'm dedicated.

    "Tatara magazine page 6.
John Lindsey in an interview with Tanemura S asks: "Did Takamatsu S always call it Togakure ryu?":
"Not at first. When he was associated with the Kuki family he planed to introduce Kukishin Ryu Ninpo in the form of scrolls and densho. But after the war he distanced himself from the Kuki family and decided not to do this. then he met Hatsumi S. and Fukumoto s. Takamatsu S.i decided to teach them Ninpo. That is when he decided to use the name Ninpo."

@Arteanor Just because those books were written in 1655, 1676, 1681 doesn't mean that ninjustu hasn't survived and been passed down to Takamatsu and then to Hatsum and Tanamura, the fact that there is still a Soke for ninjutsu means that the art is still evolving and progressing.
'go WATCH the shinobi soldiers series'...
Well that'd be better than you going and getting your info from the bloody POWER RANGERS!!

this stuffs mainly done for balance and other reasons. i used it to avoid someone trying to punch me. moved backwards just a hair, missed the punch, moved back forwards to the right, and kicked his knee in in a split second. good thing i only used a little bit of force. if u say its crap, you miss the point. what do you expect though. no one really understands. yes this is acted out. mostly. ever see cats play fight? guess what thats for. ill never show anyone what i know that doesnt deserve it.

"u never been in a karate class or anything before?"
we aren't talking about karate. were talking about the bujinkan.
"you train the moves to try and make them become reaction and than you apply them real time with the person moving or resisting. " this doesnt happen in the bujinkan. ask around.
"Your comment confuses me, its not supposed to be impressive, he wouldnt use real swords and cut his students..."
but they don't do sparring, because their training is "too lethal" for it

@3rdeye7thdimension "why are you throwing that quote up?"
The answer to your question is:
Im throwing that quote up because it comes from Bruce Lee; A person that is much respected in the martial arts community as a martial arts expert. The quote backs up what myself and others on this site before me have been trying to tell you.
