    Nice review. Good to see you actually like some gear 😆. Seriously though I do appreciate your honest and critical reviews! I think the kydex sheath is cool, but the shears have no excuse at that price. It seems like all shears suffer from shitty rivets. That's the main thing that has stopped me from using them. Maybe I should just replace the rivet with a stainless bolt with nylock nut.

    Hi, could you think about testing out a Chinese mask scuba...( not a snorkle ) full face mask called a RKD D40 mask? Its basically a silicone mask that you use your own 2nd stage with, and has a fold down go pro mount. I'm a commercial diver and i got one just fun stuff, and the more I play with it, the more I like it.
    Im disabled and last week I had a big toe removed due to an infection so I can not dive again for a few weeks... maybe a little longer.. I would really like to hear and see some footage of someone thats not judgemental from the start. Im thinking this would be great for people that want to play around in 20' looking for shells and stuff.. or maybe even golfball hunt'in. Lol.

    You should always have two cutting devices on you and imho one of them should be a ceramic line cutter. It’s light, simple, no moving parts, no maintenance needed, fairly inexpensive, safe, yet sharp as hell, and will do 95% of all cutting you‘ll have to do under water. The second device (both reachable by either hand!) is for the 5% your personal type of diving might require, be that a knife for fishing nets, shears/pliers for cables in a wreck or whatever.

      Yeah knives defiantly have a place, and maybe I didn't make that clear enough, but there again this video is more targeted at those newbie divers that are eyeballing Rambo knives for their rigs.

      Rambo underwater they should make a movie like that to make nubes get the picture that the idea of a big knife is a movie thing. If you've done the bush life on a swiss army knife and made shelter with that alone you come to the acceptance it's not the knife it's the user.

      @@memoirsofus1 That’s right. I‘ve done more traveling than most in the more remote parts of the world and never needed more than an Opinel No. 8 and a SAK Huntsman. For special tasks like diving or woodworking you may special knives, but the knife is far less important than to know how to use it.

    Standard scissor cost 1$ and you put them in your pocket. Or around a strap ! :D

    • @Sombre____
      @Sombre____ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@john_church You can find shiny scissor ... i'm pretty sure about it ! xD
      You can even 3D print this holster !
      But in most of BCD, there is a pocket for knife ... so, scissor should fit inside.

    "you accidentally cut a low pressure hose"
    It’s hard to do that on purpose, and if someone manages to do it by accident, thats already natural selection.
    If you stab and cut yourself with a knife while using it, you should not have a knife in first place.
    With all that said, I prefer the line cutter.

    Specific to the quality and Sense of humor i rarely subscribe to things with only half relavance to my interests however you got me your a quality video maker. Shears are the best choice but for security my father always felt better with a few kilometers of water beneath him if he had a dive knife more so because if you did have the slim opportunity of defense against most of the things we are defenseless to in the ocean and that is mostly anything that wants to have at you it's like the literally at least you had your chance. From personal opinion i believe you should always have shears and only ever use the dive knife if you got the captain Nemo octopus trying to have it's way with you. Again doubtful but if you're experienced with a knife and it makes you feel better my friends father won the lottery and i watched a TH-cam video of a guy defending himself from a swarm of smallish sized sharks he defended him self well. you want dive shears for that type of situation, be my guest.
