    Hello Simon,
    Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make this video. It's helped so much, and you've explained everything so simply. Not just in the Reaktor interface, but the sound engineering concepts too.
    I really appreciate it,
    -becky

    I had to migrate a crapload of data at work today and had your tutorials on as bg - super useful- can't wait to get home and implement them!

      @@SimonHutchinson actually the data migration was the BG- my full attention was on your tutorials and I went home and built a pulse wave sync instrument based on your sync tutorial till after midnight last night- first cool thing I've done on my new16" M3 MBP. So thanks!!!

      My pleasure! Yeah, if you've got Kyma, I'm not sure I really recommend Reaktor, but for students who are coming in with DAW experience the ability to run it as a plug-in is a big deal, and the price tag is pretty good now (though it varies quite a bit year to year--used to be $400, I think).

    MANY thanks! the first of the reaktor tutorials I can actually follow- and you actually ZOOM in on what your doing! many thanks - good presentation and good teaching. Im still trying to get to grips learning to build in reaktor- I never know where to start.

    • @SimonHutchinson

      Awesome, thank you! I mostly use Reaktor when I want some customization in my synths, but I'm still going to work in a DAW (harder to do that with Pd or Kyma). For some less traditional ideas, check the "intermediate" playlist - th-cam.com/play/PL7w4cOVVxL6HQ6JrYWso_B3gaLAHQheYG.html

    Your work is AMAZING and METICULOUS 😁👍👌. you bring out clarity from concepts that, if were explained by a university professor, would sound cryptic and drive the learners nuts [and bolts] with confusion. i often tell kids that the difference between {who is regarded} a dumb kid vs. a smart kid at school, is hidden in the CLARITY of the teacher's message/words, or rather in how much ATTENTION the teacher pays to the way s/he utters the words out of his/her mouth {style, sequencing/ordering of concepts and grouping/clustering of related concepts}.
    what we are witnessing here, is a man who knows how to SEQUENCE his thoughts into a story-like narrative; a linear journey that meticulously takes into account the fact that SOME THINGS (concepts) in the story should NOT be divulged or disclosed until OTHER foundational and elementary concepts are first fully laid down, and laid down in PROPER ORDER, while dealing with a concept that is EXTREMLY technical (sound synthesis) and NOT to be taken for granted at first glance, because the explanations could easily get out of hand when man-handled.
    Keep it up 😍😍😍 We LOVE and APPRECIATE your Tutoring work ! 😁👍👌👌👌

    How to deal with stereo samples ?

    • @SimonHutchinson
      @SimonHutchinson  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For stereo samples you would need to use one of the different sampler modules.

    Hey Simon, How many samples can be input into a Reaktor Sampler like this one?

    • @SimonHutchinson
      @SimonHutchinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually don’t know what the limits are, but it’s a lot. You can map to all 127 MIDI notes, and the map to multiple different velocity ranges for each of those notes!

      REPLYso awesome you replied so quickly! Thank you!! I did some digging and experimenting and solved my issues for creating a really interesting instrument with your articulate tutorial! Thanks! Btw I was a student of Herb Deutsch and lifelong friends. Love the fact that you have a degree in electronic music! Degrees like that didn’t exist when I was in college. Back then Everything was analog… there weren’t any books just trials and trials and errors but what a journey!Loving all this technology as well … seeing it evolve as it is from 55 years ago! Thanks again for shining some light on a really exciting program. Steve

    Hi Simon, I'd like to ask you some questions about Reaktor 6 primary. Would it be better to ask you them here in the comments or by email?

      No worries! Any help you could give would be great.
      With regard to the Reaktor 6 primary’ build, do you have further tutorials/resources for or can you help me with: i) modulation cutoff; ii) chorus; iii) reverb; iv) distortion (sequencer); v) creating an EQ; vi) sample and hold; vii) bitcrusher; viii) where to put these in the signal flow; and finally, ix) I am planning on creating an LFO macro and putting other custom-built macros into it such as vibrato, tremolo, delay, chorus, etc.
      Do you know if it is possible to put these macros within a single designated LFO macro? My intention is to then put one of these LFO macro’s into each oscillator in my dual function plugin, which has a gated real-time synth (x3 oscillators); and 2) self-generating oscillators (x13 oscillators). Is this possible? Finally, do you know much about the GUI design element of Reaktor 6? Any help that you can offer would be gratefully received :)

      Lot's of questions! But I think I have a few leads for you.
      For other tutorials, I like the ADSR ones - th-cam.com/video/mgd26RouCk4/w-d-xo.html Salamander Anagram goes through things quite a bit faster than I do, but if you're ready to pause the videos a bit there's a lot of great ideas. They probably cover all of the different things your asking about (though some might be in Reaktor Core).
      I'm planning a video on chorus and reverb, but there are quite a few other things I need to take care of before that, so it might be a few months.
      Anyway, everything you say sounds possible. I'm not really the one to ask about the GUI stuff, since I don't dig into that much beyond the very basics. I think there are some good sources out there if you search though (maybe in the Reaktor community pages on NI). Good luck!
