Absolutely wonderful demo. Probably the best I've heard. I have 2 of these, a combo and a Quantum Silver head and matching 2X12 cabinet with a Gold and Blue.
That PRS sounds super sweet. Seems to me an ideal way to run this amp would be to turn everything up to full and then ride the volume on the guitar. Old school marshall way of working.
Nice amp Paul, although I don't remember either of my AC 30's sounding that good, and the weight of them was a killer! Stacked them and ran them with a Marshall 50 head and two 12's, which was great in those days. (Talking 'Jimi' era!) Not surprised these fine valve amps are the price they are though.
I really loved listening to you Paul, especially your guitar tone. I don't know what it is, but the highs of your tone doesn't hurt my ears. Would like to know how are you eq'ing your signal chain is. Thanks paul!
I've built a couple of trainwreck express amps, along with a lot of famous vintage amps, the ones i could never afford.. Love them all, but I have to say the trainwreck is in a class by itself . They are unbelievable. Like a hurricane made of fire.
I have a Matchless Tonex profile you made that I play live frequently. It is fabulous. This Dr Z also sounds amazing. Question for you: Is there a link somewhere that allows for listening to the ToneX profile prior to purchase? I don't see that at the link above, and I am assuming what we are hearing in this video is the recorded mic'ed amp versus the ToneX profile. (I'd love to be wrong about that!)
Sounds beautiful. Still considering a Tonex and in the meantime I installed Tonocracy. Surely you'd like to get into making Tonocracy profiles as well?😅 I tell ya I'm starting to get option paralysis.
Great videos and content sir! I see some posts where folks are asking what speaker/cab or IR you using but there hasn’t been a response to those questions.. I have the Z-Wreck head and matching cab as well. Just would like to know what you are using for speaker/IR? Thank you sir sounds wonderful!
Awesome demo! I have the same Z-Wreck head (and grey/silver matching cab with Blue and Gold Alnico Celestions. Curious question... What cab or speakers are you using with the Z-Wreck? Thank you for the demo!
My main amp is a Z Wreck Jr, and I love it. I really don’t need more than 15 watts for the gigs that I do, and if I need more watts, I will use my 65 Amps Marquee.
I'm the same as you, even on big gigs I always take my Z-Wreck Jr combo. I've changed the speaker to a gold in mine and its transformed the amp. I owned the big silver Z-Wreck with matching cab and the Z-80 with matching cab, but I'm always grabbing the Jr. Maybe I should make myself some big bucks and sell them both. I'm obviously a combo man. I'd love a Two Rock bloomfield drive combo to pair with the Jr. I could sell up and get that and have some money left over. Anyway thinking out loud there...😂
Hopefully with all these different amps you been getting eventually hoping you get a Magnatone twilighter. Great Demo's. Watch it, James is gettin pretty good at Guitar Playing.
IMO You sound the best with P90s, like that’s your sound. All the other, could be anyone else, when i hear YOU with the p90s i head the person behind the guitar. Great video as usual. Been following from my other account for years and years. One more Sub here 🤣 cheers!!
Truly wonderful amp clean or dirty but the star of the show is the Tele expertly tamed by Paul. What PUPS are these ? Fat not to strident yet ballsy enough to cut in a mix. What's not to like?
Called it in the PRS video saw the amp peaking. I knew instantly I would be that one that was on reverb, it was an absolute steal! I've been gigging and recording exclusively with the silver head and Cab for the past 2 years. Its an absolutely incredible amp, my all time favourite. I'm planning on picking up that new Z-80, that may knock this off its perch, we'll see. You've got the right idea not selling the amp!
@@ebeep You certainly do! Surely you'd be rooting for the Z-80 with it having more Vox DNA that the Z-Wreck. The Z-80 is a newly designed Vox AC100 with Z own special spices added like all his amps! 😁
Nice demo of a fine amp, Paul. I'm pretty sure the comfort/speed switch remains the normal configuration with this amp. Half-power is an option that replaces speed/comfort. Cheers!
How are you mic’ing it? My z wreck is way more aggressive than yours. Yours sounds smooth. Like it was recorded with a ribbon mic on the edge of the speaker or similar.
Liked the clean sounds...but man is that drive sound boxy and thin. Maybe some dig that? but I really do not like the tone when distorted, to each their own
i do not hear any difference to any average AC-30/AC-15. But they meanwhile also offer a Master Volume. Even my - much cheaper - Straight 6 pedal gives me the same tones - from clean to overdrive - at better usable line level. So what for should I pay so much more for an amp with less features than the original amp offers, but without any sonic improvements?
If there is no perceptible difference in tone, then of course no point and be happy with whatever you have. An argument could be made for the longevity regarding how they build their amps, and that may or may not factor in. "Features" is worth noting too, like if a feature is it's a 2-channel amp and 1 channel sounds bad, or you can't make the 2 channels work together, then what use is that feature? Same with an effect loop, like just because it's there doesn't mean it actually sounds good. The other problem with features is there's more potential for things to go wrong, and there's no guarantee that whatever feature was added didn't degrade the core tone of what the amp was capable of either. I'm just trying to answer your question, but I agree with your basic premise.
Les Paul P90s with that amp is magic.
Absolutely wonderful demo. Probably the best I've heard. I have 2 of these, a combo and a Quantum Silver head and matching 2X12 cabinet with a Gold and Blue.
Sounds amazing. That PRS is stunning
4:20 O M G , the tele sounds just... I need this tone!!!
Man sounds great I love the Dr Z amps they all are exceptional!!!
They are!
that is a beautiful sound. always loved Z wreck sounds. thanks Paul!
That PRS sounds super sweet. Seems to me an ideal way to run this amp would be to turn everything up to full and then ride the volume on the guitar. Old school marshall way of working.
Excellent video Paul, thanks.
Very welcome Doc.
Waaaaaaw what a sound !!
The first seconds are just magic !! That guitar and that amp are just a match made in heaven..
Funny thing about this amp, you can dial it in and get the exile on Main Street tone as well Keef in all his glory.
Sounds great - broad versatility of tones and dynamics too. Thx!

Great video! Nothing sounds like a ZWreck.
This format with you talking and playing is best!
Superb sound. DrZ amps are great. I personally went for a VOX-AC30-S1 because they sound amazing and can be bought at a bargain on Reverb.
That sounds wonderful! The Vox-style amps are definitely your thing. They’re so throaty, articulate and defined.
I really loved listening to you Paul, especially your guitar tone. I don't know what it is, but the highs of your tone doesn't hurt my ears. Would like to know how are you eq'ing your signal chain is. Thanks paul!

I am a big fan of this amp. It sounds huge!!
Glorious!
Sounds great. I had the 15 watt version with master volume. It was also great.
Would love to hear the two compared.
@@CarlyonProductionthe full size is 10x better imo
Night and day difference
Great video what speakers are you running through. Awesome playing

Love that Gilmour strat! Z makes some of the best most affordable amps in the world.
Video has amazing sounds, great playing
Cheers
Lovely sounds! If only there was a similar, UK-made amp newly on the market?! 🤔
Hopefully with all these different amps you been getting eventually hoping you get a Magnatone twilighter. Great Demo's. Watch it, James is gettin pretty good at Guitar Playing.
I'd really like to know how loud this has to be to get overdrive.
What a amazing video have a wonderful day ❤😊
been dying to get my hands on one of these for years!
Try a Morgan AC 20 deluxe will blow you away! Also MVP23.
I’ve Z Wreck and MVP23. Really didn’t gel with the Morgan, couldn’t get a sound I liked. My mates AC20, on the other hand is a thing of beauty!
I have both Morgan's and they are great, but the Z-Wreck is in another league.
I have an MVP23 and I'll never part with it.
Sounds beautiful in all shades of gain.
What's the cab/speaker being used? Great sounds

Comparison with a Victory Cooper?
Doesn't get much better than this.
Vox should have made an amp with cascading gain stages loosely based on their platform?
Truly wonderful amp clean or dirty but the star of the show is the Tele expertly tamed by Paul. What PUPS are these ? Fat not to strident yet ballsy enough to cut in a mix. What's not to like?
This is the best Z Wreck demo online. What speakers are you running it through?
It’s always ir’s, to my knowledge. I don’t know that he ever mic’s cabs
Oh and amazing guitars
Is this demo with external effects during the whole video?

You get legendary tones from your silver Wreck. I'm rooting for it over the Z80 just cuz I am Vox-biased :)

: Great amp. Misleading title. Vox don't need to make a Dr. Z Z wreck. They already made the AC 30 and AC 15 - without which, etc.
Dig it!
Liked the clean sounds...but man is that drive sound boxy and thin. Maybe some dig that? but I really do not like the tone when distorted, to each their own
Opinions are like B-holes..everyone has one but some folks think theirs smells like roses.

@@AdamGotheridge I personally get almost the same tones out of much cheaper equipment easier. So I never bought myself such an amp.
can't 🙈 see the objective of the demo . There's very little real bass response. Maybe it needs a close back ported cab😂 . 😊. Best Regards 😃. John.
