@ he did a reaction video to a reaction video once. I think it was The Charismatic Voice. Then he did a sit down video with her talking about vocal technique. He’s awesome.
People like to dismiss them as a gimmick, but make no mistake they are the real deal and put on a hell of a show. Justin Hawkins has TH-cam channel called Justin Hawkins Rides again and it's great!
One of the greatest songs in 'modern' rock. It came out in 2003, NOT the 70/80's. Absolutely LOVE the Darkness. Their catalogue is well worth exploring man. Love is Only a Feeling, Growing on Me ... and as Christmas get's closer you HAVE to do their absolute classic Xmas his 'Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End).
A truly underrated band! All the members are phenomenal musicians and Justin Hawkins is an incredible vocalist and great guitarist! I love how they incorporate rock with some parody/comedy! Is funny you said 70’s/80’s. This song was released in 2003! Many people wrote them off because of the cheesiness. It’s a shame they are an amazing band with a new album coming out this spring!!
I can hardly wait till he finds out this band isn’t from the 70s or the 80s! Much more modern band, but they definitely got the effect they were looking for; this dude thought they were a band from the 70s! Bravo! And he looks familiar because he’sJustin Hawkins, who has a little Talk Show here on TH-cam. Let’s go!
@@setonhillstudios look up the video of this band where somebody threw a beer on Justin Hawkins, the singer, after he was sober for many years. Justin handled the situation very well. Here, I’ll look up the link and put it here … th-cam.com/video/3wV841rBTz0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vBctpOvwE3CMVTWd
These guys came out in the early 2000’s but they were a throwback to the glam rock of the 70’s and 80’s. I saw them live a couple of years ago and they sounded just as good as this. Justin was hitting all the notes and he and Dan’s (his brother) solos were fantastic. And the new drummer is the son of Roger Taylor from Queen. He is on the next level for drumming!
Justin Hawkins is very funny, has great guitar chops and a very fine voice. He's quite aware they are a cult band. Love or hate the song, he's got talent.
Heehee, saw the thumbnail and thought, 'yep, they got you again'. 😂😂 It's a crackin' track though right? You think you're in for a bit of a joke when the video starts, then all this massive talent smacks you in the head! Love it, thank you. ✌❤
This came out when hair metal was dead. It was a semi hit because not only was it a good song, but it was unique and funny. His vocals is the highest I’ve heard for a male rocker.
"I'm assuming 70s or 80s" - 2003, actually, but it definitely has that "classic rock" vibe. Ed Graham on the drums in the video, but their current drummer is Rufus Taylor, son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor.
I'm so happy you did this song!!! The Darkness are awesome and still touring, people love them and they're still kicking ass. Justin Hawkins is still pretty high profile in that he did both Taylor Hawkins (late Foo Fighters' drummer) tribute concerts & absolutely killed it. He's got a huge YT channel and he's still got the vocals! The drummer for the Darkness is Rufus Taylor, Roger Taylor's (drummer from Queen) son. Not in this video, though, he's been with the band for 10 yrs now.
Justin Hawkins has performed for different festivals and benefit shows. I love his YT channel. Smart, informative and just fun to watch, just like YOU!! ☮️❤️😎🎼
Justin Hawkins' voice has always reminded me of Freddy Mercury, and this video looks like something Queen would do back in the day, dontcha think? 😆 🤘Rock on, Kelly 🤘
Justin Hawkins is a fellow reactor as well as an awesome guitarist and vocalist! You can check him out over at Justin Hawkins Rides Again. He has an awesome Ren interview. And this is actually an early 2000 song!
You ought to check out Barbarian and All The Pretty Girls by them, great rock songs. There aren't too many rock bands left but these guys are carrying the torch.
the video is a good example of british sense of humour. justin hawkins is the lead.his bro dan was the other one in white. justin was a chameleon on the uk masked singer.he couldn't use his high voice as people would have guessed him straight away. in the uk we have the same classic xmas tunes that get played every xmas.it's a very hard list to get on. the darkness have a tune that did make it to the list,it's called christmas time(don't let the bells end)
If you love guitar solos, Ian Thornley, Big Wreck! His most famous one is Ghosts from Suhr live 2015, but it's worth watching/hearing the original first to get the impact of the song. SRV style solo, huge jamming in the live. Won't be disappointed. Ian only adds solos when it seems right.
Defiantly not the 70s or 80s. This came out in 2003, and was a banger at the time. It still is. The Darkness are a UK band, and it was said they were heavily influenced by Queen. As of a few years ago, the drummer left, and was replaced by Rufus Taylor, the son of Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor. Certainly got a Queen influence now, especially as Rufus has previously toured with Queen in the past, playing the drums when Roger got up to sing a few songs.
They're like a cross between Queen and Led Zeppelin. In the early 2000s they were one of my favourite new rock bands together with The Music. Please react to The Music's "Take The Long Road and Walk It", "The People" or "Getaway".
I love me some darkness! I love a band with a sense of humor My favorite is the furry creature bath towel situation But seriously, I love Justin Hawkins. He’s amazing. Justin rides again!
If you like the higher register then you might like Laid by James. You might also like a song by a band who basically had one big hit kind of like this one called Darling Cruel and the song is Everything’s Over. And for a really crazy high register tune is by the artist Vitas and the song is Ooera Number 1. That one will really flip you out.
A lot of color is this Darkness vid. The lead singer Justin Hawkins has an interesting YT channel "Justin Hawkins Rides Again". He's a recovered drug addict. If you like his near yodeling style, then check out Josh Kiszka, the lead singer of Greta Van Fleet.
2003! The Darkness rocks! Justin and Dan are brothers. They were so huge in 2003/2004 they played stadiums in the UK. Check out their second album from 2005 "One Way Ticket To Hell and Back" - Queen's producer involved on that one so it sounds a bit Queen but that's just fine with me! th-cam.com/video/enJiLuH9YUA/w-d-xo.html
Really talented guy, but he will always be identified with this. That's not a bad thing. I would give anything to be remembered for 1 thing in music, As for this. This would have fit right in nicely in 1977. Gave this one a whirl a few nibths back. th-cam.com/video/t6g1fZO9V20/w-d-xo.html Come on Steven get back on the kit
And Justin's talked about that and he's totally fine with it! He loves the song, still loves performing it and is very proud to have written it. Darkness fans know that this song isn't all that the band has to offer and their tours around the world to this day are packed and the fans know all their great songs.

Justin Hawkins Rides Again!! He is so charismatic even on his channel!

Dan and Justin Hawkins can both play lead and rythm, and take turns.
"Love is only a feeling" is another old-school guitar anthem.
Rufus Tiger Taylor (son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor) is now their drummer.
He identifies as a guitarist over a vocalist. Just shows how amazingly talented he is.
With a voice like that second to his guitar playing. WOW!
