- It is with a VERY heavy heart that I create this video. It's a very impromptu recording but I felt it needed to be made to answer many questions coming my way.
Please show respect and compassion for those within the CTMH family. We've been hit with some very hard news.

I had never heard of CTMH until now. I am so sorry to hear a paper-crafting company that has been around so long is not going to continue. Prayers for all of you affected by this. I have dealt a lot with Stampin’ Up and can understand why that may not be a good fit for you, but I can say that everyone I have ever dealt with in the past 4 years has been wonderful. Excellent customer service and my products arrive in Alaska in about 3-4 days max…faster than Amazon! If SU does “absorb” CTMH, I hope it happens in a way that is blessing to all involved. 💜

Ugh so SU is involved in murder and now they get to expand? Ya great family there. I am from UT and always didn't like that company maybe because SU is another MLM and there are so many in UT.
Stampin Up has just announced a $$ changes that negatively impact demonstrators and the demos' customers.

Sadly, it's a sign of the times we are living in. Many people no longer have that wee bit of "me money" to spend on things like craft supplies. They need to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Sending well wishes to Jeanette and hoping for brighter days ahead.

Your video showed up in my suggested feed. I’m so sorry for this devastating news and the situation that it puts you and so many of our crafting community in. It’s so hard to see such long-standing companies close their businesses. On a side note….your hair is FABULOUS! The cut and color are perfection for your face and complexion. I wear a very similar cut and style, but I need my color to look as good as yours! I hope that you are able to find something new that you are passionate about! 😊

I fully believe that there are so many talented artists and designers that one can never be sufficiently inspired if they limit themselves to one company. I applaud you and wish you much luck in your paper crafting endeavors.
Yes, that is where my heart is heading. Building relationships with other companies that offer quality, fantastic design with affordable prices.
I felt the same way many years ago when locally owned scrapbooking stores closed, also our Making Memories location, followed by Archivers. CTMH was out there too back then. Then I lost so many of my cherished supplies after Hurricane Harvey. I spent hours cleaning off my dies and die cut machine one afternoon when I was at my disrepaired home by myself. So many different types of loss in the industry for me. But look on the brighter side, with you and your talents the Papercraft Possibilities are still endless! 49 and Market is a wonderful product line and has taken my personal papercrafting in a whole new direction. I wish you well and will be following.

I lived in the Coastal Bend for many years and had once owned a home in the town where Harvey came ashore. Just hearing your description of losing your craft supplies and having to deal with rebuilding your home made me tear up. I hope you have regained your footing and are doing well now.
Such a nightmare to rebuild one’s life after a natural disaster.
I was so sorry to hear this news from my CTMH person. I've purchased CTMH for years and am very sad to see this company close. Products are such excellent quality.

I was a member of a CTMH group for several years with a rep who hosted our meetings at her home… fabulous times. I still have a bit of those products and will continue to use. As a matter of fact, my entire acrylic block set is from them that came in a handy plastic tote/box… all still in tact. I wish you well. I also enjoy buying from other companies at this time. Back in 2000 I was introduced to the company then known as D.O.T.S. and still have my stamps. Then after moving I discovered SU and have bought their products ever since. So sorry to hear that CTMH will be closing. I look back and see so many that have closed their doors over the years. I just subscribed to your channel and will watch your videos as I am always looking for new ideas. Wishing you all the best.

I am so sad about CTMH. I have been with them for 25 or 26 years. Best products around. I am glad to hear your decision. I just dont feel Stampin Up is for me either. I will still be watching.
I am so very sorry, you must be in complete shock. My heart is just broken for those of you with years of history with CTMH. Keep me posted as to where you end up.
Sometimes what feels like the biggest change or loss can open us up to other opportunities that we wouldn't have found otherwise. Hopefully it will be the boost that someone needed to open their own business or step into something new that will benefit many in the paper crafting retail. I just found your channel for the first time. I was a scrapbooker for probably around 10 years but I didn’t favour one company. We had a small local scrapbook store and I bought my product for her. I loved it. Then I grew to realize that my family didn’t really appreciate all of the work I put into scrapping their lives so to speak so somehow my interest turned to card making. I have now been a card maker for about 3 years. I have met some awesome friends and I am now a hobby demonstrator with Stampin Up. But every now and again I feel the urge to do a little more scrapbooking. I will now follow you( I just subscribed) and who knows,maybe you will inspire me to get back some of my scrapbooking mojo! Good luck on your future endeavours and I’m looking forward to seeing what you work with and create with!

I really agree with you wanting to be your own boss! I had a gift shop for 19 years and I loved every single day! I started with rubber stamps, Holly Yashi jewelry and gourmet baskets. It was a very strange combo! But I learned fast. I quickly moved to a larger store and had a blast. I started carrying several scrapbook companies,
other crafts. Then I just kept expanding. Clothes, tons of jewelry, craft classes, card making, all kinds of gifts. It was wonderful. When 2008 hit sales really took a hit. I ended up closing in 2011. I was so sad to do that because I really missed my customers who had become such great friends.
I am so sorry about what has happened to you and the others involved. I am not familiar with the company that you have been with. I am sure you will get going once again. You have a great personality for what you are doing! Best of luck to you and your cohorts. Prayers too! 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

I honestly have not purchased anything from CTMH in years but I have their products still and I very much like them. Their Exclusive Inks from way back are still a go to for me and I have some stamps sets that are irreplaceable from any other company I have seen. I am sorry you and others are going through this but we will be there for you as you spread your wings in different directions!

Sad to hear. When I lived in Washington state, a friend invited me to a D.O.T.S demo. This was about 30 years ago. I fell in love with paper crafting because of them. Until I moved to Virginia, I never heard of stamping up. They didn't know about DOTS. Even when they changed their name to CTMH. I still have a few of my original wood stamps. They are great quality. Still use them.
Yes, the quality of the stamps and quality of packaging, is worth every penny. I will be holding onto my stamps for a very long time.
@@PapercraftPossibilities had mine for almost 30 years. And you didn't have to assemble them like a competitor of theirs.
I also have stamps from D.O.T.S. They are well made and some of my favorites!
My heart is breaking. Became a maker less than a year ago and have invested so much into getting their products. I don’t think there’s another company out there that touch what Jeanette has done with CTMH. Certainly been a sad few days. Not sure where I’m going to go now. But will continue watching your creativity.

I like that you’re going your own way. Then this doesn’t happen again. I hate that the Makers are being left with no good options. So sad.
I will always be a scrapbooker at heart, but my hobbies have wandered off to candle making as well as bath and body products. Having said that I still enjoy paper crafting from time to time. My comment is in regards to Stampin Up. While they too have some fabulous products, I believe they are doing themselves no favors by demanding their consultants be strictly Stampin Up. Not good business in my opinion. I believe we all should have freedom to create and use whatever products work best for us. Glad I found your channel. Looking forward to seeing what is new in the scrapbooking/paper crafting world.

Sad times for many with scrap booking, hobby lobby is clearing out scrap book paper crafts as well sadly, I hope scrapbooking options still survive some how, as times are changing sadly, I've grown up seeing scrap book supplies, it's Sad it's not the same as things use to be, may your new journey be blessed,

I used scrapbooking supplies many years ago to create Christmas ornaments, and intended to create a cookbook with family recipes, but ended up divorced, moving, cancer and more.
I was JUST thinking about an AMAZING store I shopped at in Thousand Oaks Calif, but over a decade later and another State…I’m sure it’s gone.

I’m so sorry to hear this news. I was a CTMH demo 15 years ago. I’ve been to convention four times and made some fantastic memories with a lot of great people. Best wishes moving forward.
Oh my goodness, I'm so very sorry.
I loved my few years with CTMH and still have some great 9 x 12 cardstock by CTMH that I love... all my other scrapping stuff is completed scrapbooks my son is caring for for the family now and I am a quilter and fiber art creator now that I am retired... must tell ya... my son asked for a scrapbook for his daughter about to be born... my second grand... it made me sad to say I only had paper now and not "all the stuffs"... but I thought CTMH would be forever!
Thanks for this heartfelt message here... I can tell you had an affinity for CTMH... they were welcoming with different ways to use their products besides their displays when I worked with them in 2006-2008 ish??? We had a LOT of family drama that was real... it stopped the creativity for me... when it came back 4 years later fiber arts took over and I sold all my big cabinet plus more of scrapbooking things I had amassed as I documented our history ... I documented trips and day to day all with CTMH... I will handle it more gently now!

I used to be a consultant when they were called consultants lol. Back when they sold Cricut cartridges so many many years ago. The paper crafting industry has changed tremendously over the years. Good luck to you.

I have been a VIP with CTMH for just over a year, but a purchaser with them for more than 25 years. I love their storage and other items right down to the SOTM. I will be sorry to see them close up shop. I am sad to hear that the CEO is not well. That must have been a tough decision for her. I am also a SU demo in Canada, and enjoy their printed card stock and stamp selection. Sometimes the colours for each company do no blend but I feel the products generally blend and complement each other. I am cardmaker ( only) but enjoy CTMH cardstock, card kits and add ons. I think I will be making a LARGE purchase through my maker. Good luck to you and other Makers. God bless.

Oh No!!! This is a very Sad day!!! We live is Washington state and I lived in Arizona for seven years while in college. I once was a CTMH consultant and Very Much enjoyed doing so. Ooooohhhhh… I NEED that baby chicken stamp set!!! My husband and I are in the Hatchery business. We hatch about 4 MILLION baby chickens 🐣 EVERY week! It’s sad to hear that CTMH is closing. I wish the owner all of the best during her medical journey. Maybe you can use this opportunity to create your own line, especially since you enjoy being your own boss. 🩵

Susan....I just happened upon your video. I'm Cindy Baker and I've been with Close to My Heart for 33 years. The company was 6 months old when I started. So I'm a career "Maker" and of course this news has been devastating. It's my only income at the moment. I just wanted to tell you that your sweet, heartfelt words about how this effects so many of us that have been with the company from the beginning really touched my heart meant a lot to me. Thank you so much! We'll all get through this, but it's tough. I'm not sure if I'm going with SU yet. I have to see what the details are first. Thank you again for your heartfelt words! I do make cards by hand and am sorry to hear that news as change is hard. I worked for Sears for 18 years and when it shut down in 2019, I was so sad and still miss working there. My heart and prayers go out to all of the people who are losing their job!

I'm in Australia and was a consultant with an Australian company called Kaszazz until they closed 2 years ago. They also did a deal with SU to move people across but not many did.
I set up my own small business and it's been building steadily.
Many of the Kaszazz consultants went across to CTMH and are now going through it all again.
Some of the higher up ones are not keen on SU either as they don't do much scrapbooking stuff, so it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
We've also had another paper craft company in Australia announce their closure this past week as the creative behind it sadly passed away last year.
Let's hope we can keep the industry alive!

Good for you for choosing to forge your own path. The bonus in doing this is that you are not limited t manufacturer or designer - you can use whatever you want. I chose my local 'cards teacher' because she wasn't affiliated with any company in particular so can show us the best of everything, can still use the retired products in her stash etc. This is my first video with you but you have gained a new subscriber just for making that decision alone! I haven’t scrapped in years but CTMH is so close to my heart and makes me think of when my babies were young. When I would come home from a party with my newly procured goodies and do a few pages since the kids were already in bed, or do a rough design for the product that would arrive in a week or so. Memories.
I’m so happy to hear that they are a company that didn’t create a phenomenal product and then later abandon it for profits instead of quality. I am also saddened to hear if the struggles of the founder and for the partners that will have to chose to go to SU or independent.
I’m grateful you showed up in my recommendations. I need to get back to scrapbooking. I haven’t done a thing since we moved from Surprise, AZ to Olympia, WA area a few years ago. 🤦🏼♀️ We did it for the grand baby access, how about you? 😂 I think you may have shown up by Devine inspiration. 😉 I look forward to your expanded product content.

So sad. CTMH is my neighbor. I also have a close friend who works at the shop in PG and she called us today to let us know. I can't believe it. Well wishes to the owner and to all the amazing people that helped build CTMH. (By shop I mean headquarters/warehouse)

Just happened onto your channel when I saw the "sad day" title. I didn't even realize CTMH was still around, but do remember them when I first started stamping in 2000! Never got into scrapbooking...always made cards, which I still do. Always hard to hear a long standing company is closing....too bad it couldn't be sold. Best of luck to you...

It's so sad.
New subbie! I am sad about CTMH and super sad if SU becomes affiliated with the CTMH legacy, for many reasons. So many other companies to work with. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I was with CTMH and 31 bags. Sometimes we meet others who want to help you grow... sometimes not! It breaks my heart to see your pain. I'm not a scrapbooker, but am a card/tag maker. I am saddened to hear that so many (mostly) women will be losing the home based businesses that they worked so hard to build. The investment in time, energy, money, blood, sweat and tears can't be overlooked. I understand the owners decision to close, but I get such a creepy feel from SU. Maybe that is just me. Sadly, most people won't have a choice if the SU absorbs them because it is what they have to do to stay alive financially. I applaud you for going out on your own and look at some of the card makers out there who have become wild successes without being affiliated with 1 particular company. Good luck to you!

This is actually my first video that I’ve run across and I have subscribed I think you would be a awesome TH-camr to watch. I have a very small TH-cam channel with not nearly close to the scribers you have in mind mainly a Vlog sharing my life here in Texas. I’m so sad for those coworkers that also are affected by the closure of the company that you worked for and just based on my own experience of being with the company for over 38 years and being laid off, it is always shocking and jarring, so I am feeling deep in my heart for everyone that’s impacted by the decision to close! I am saying prayers, and will certainly watch your TH-cam channel ❤

Just found your channel. I’ve scrapped in the past but through a lot of family issues I actually stopped . My cousin with Stamping up and so I have a bunch of stamp supplies that need to be used. In 2020. My, cousin died from Covid as did her husband. I just haven’t had the heart to continue. I did enjoy this creative outlet though. I hope things turn out well for you and your colleagues. Prayers for the good owner at CTMH ❤ ! I am sorry for your loss as a creator as well. I was a hobby demonstrator with Stampin Up and spent thousands of dollars (since Jan. 2017). When I couldn't meet my quartly minimum noone reached out to me and when I emailed the company noone ever called me back. 😢 I do not know if I will ever go back - I love all their matching products, but I am left disappointed. Again I am so sorry for your loss in the papercrafting industry 🙏🏼.

I just stumbled upon your channel. I am so sorry about the company you worked with is closing down. I am more of a paper crafter, but have always wanted to get into scrapbooking, but found it a little overwhelming. I even bought two or three scrapbooks to make for my two adult children and one for myself. Tried starting twice and didn’t know where or how to start.
I hope you find the right companies that suit you best. I only recently heard of CTMH on another channel. I will peruse through your playlist/channel to see some of your videos.

I'm a real retro, flower, bight color girl and find their line of papers and ephemera suit my needs and style. Feeling the same as you. I live in Arizona and was a Maker with CTMH over ten plus years before Covid. Then things changed, so I still scrapbook and make cards but on my own terms. I am going to miss the product, as it was my go-to. Continue to thrive in your business; things will go well for you. Was lucky to find your channel and plan to follow your inspiration.
It is truly sad, but I’m choosing to remain positive.
So sorry for you and all in the CTMH family. I was happy to start as a D.O.T.S. consultant as it transitioned into CTMH. I was with them for just shy of 10 years and loved being a part of the CTMH family. Prayers, hugs, and love for Jeanette and all.

I started scrapbooking over 40 years ago with CTMH and loved their products. About 5 years ago I decided to make cards and put scrapbooking on hold for now. I still have lots of supplies and will probably order card stock as I too love TMH papers. I just found you this morning and I subscribed so that I can follow you as you transition . So sad to hear that CTMH is closing. I was a demonstrator with them for 10 years 8+ years ago. I too love their products. And will treasure their stamps and papers always. Yes, I still have lots of their products left. Praying for all the CTMH employees and demonstrators.

This video showed up in my feed so it is the first time I have seen one of yours. I am sorry to hear this about CTMH. I will certainly keep you and the company in my prayers. I did the same thing a few years ago. I've joined Close To My Heart and Stampin' Up! in the past and I keep going back to doing my own thing and using different companies for my projects. The only one that I've stuck with is another scrapbooking company that has a different type company model. I like Simple Stories as well. There are so many wonderful companies out there. I know this has been a trying time but I do hope that your business will bloom. In the midst of ashes new life can blossom. God Bless!

My heart dropped when I received the email from CTMH. I was a consultant for almost 15 years and still have many dear friends in the organization. It is going to feel very strange not having CTMH in my crafting life.

I too am heartbroken! I have a maker in Va. That is not sure what sge will do. Also a hood friend in Oregan that has even been featured in a catalog. It has been her life for a long time. I think you are making a wise decision. I do not like SU. There are too many on YT and their products are over-priced. It is much more interesting to use what you like and create in that manner. I bought some CTMH product at a craft fair 10 years ago and then promptly forgot about them. Perhaps it is bigger in other parts of the country, but for me this will have no effect on me. Good luck to you in the future.
