Thank you for the audio. I listen to videos at work more than I watch them.

Love that the game is so deep. I had always thought the pawns would just be set at whatever I wanted when I made them and that was it. I knew about the knowledge chair, but I never felt a need to change what they did.
    Honestly impressive A.I.

Great job Gemma, though I have no doubts about the amount of boredom you was facing watching the timers. It still amazes me that after 10+ years no other developer has gotten close to the depths of the dogma pawn system, so I can only imagine with baited breathe to see what's going to happen in the superbly anticipated sequel.

Right? I don’t think it’ll be abandoned at all-I’m sure they’ve learned more about asynchronous multiplayer-and we just may be the lucky recipients of that.
Other games have companions-but they come fully fleshed out and are built into the game itself.
Pawns, on the other hand, are other players’ creations, if you will.
At first, Itsuno thought about letting other players use our own Arisen (he called them avatars) but worried what players would do to and with them in the other player’s name “I coulda beat that boss but Gemma was acting stupid” so he went with the pawn system.
Many players don’t like pawns but they are what propels Dogma into its own category-not simply a Dragon Age, Skyrim, or Dark Souls wannabe.

Tis the Maker's work you do ser.
Honestly tough I'm very curious to see if any of these behind the scenes codes will be present for DD2.

Dragon's Dogma: You are encouraged to have a balanced party with different roles with pawns that complement each other.
Dragon's Dogma: Let's make the main pawn acquire the traits of the other hired pawns regardless of what role they play.

That’s why it’s important to do your due diligence when hiring pawns-checking their inclinations-and refreshing your main pawn’s “attitude” after running through BBI several times. The impact of hired pawns, while there in the vanilla game, wasn’t nearly as great as it had become after Dark Arisen was added.
The enemies have a greater impact on your pawn on BBI; so do your commands, spamming them in combat there isn’t the best idea-esp if using the Xbox360 controller.
Other factors play a role as well, and I’ll explain that later too, or at least point them out.
It’s almost as if the devs/director who worked on the Dark Arisen portion of the game, didn’t fully reconcile it with the base version. It’s just a theory, my opinion. But I always joke they sent in the “B” team to create it-however brilliant and exciting the combat is there on the Cursed Dark Isle. Oh yes, cursed it certainly is!

I noticed nobody uses Fighter vocation. Honestly makes the game more challenging and fun. I think using a magic and archer class puts the game on easy mode no matter what. (Even though magic rules)

Actually I did a live run on my Twitch channel as a Fighter. I did it on Hard Mode, going thru post-Daimon BBI, and onwards to Daimon 2.0
I even wore a Viking helmet when I did my run. www.twitch.tv/videos/1559386609
Sorry you missed it!! I had a blast, and found that, while it was challenging, it sure was fun.
I was playing MA from launch, it sure is fun too--as are all the bow classes. In fact, I'd venture to say that all the bow classes are 'easy mode' because as long as you have plenty of blast arrows, nothing can stand in your way!! 😂

I think those class are undesirable to people like warrior I found warrior to be boring as hell and while I love fighter I can't perfect block all the time and that's technically what fighter is master of s so i tend to leave it alone but getting perfect blocks is sweet though.

Fighter isn't so much a challenge as it is very lopsided ability wise - i.e. you feel compelled to spam dragon's maw as there's no reason not to in terms of efficacy.
Tbh if dragon's maw didn't exist I think more people would play fighter, as it's fun and still pretty strong outside of it.
