    Nice, lots of great information here. I work in property maintenance, leaks/damp issues are the No.1 concern for my customers. I have found over the years that drying clothes by a radiator is the main cause of damp/mould in homes. Buy a decent dehumidifier people, it’ll change your lives!

      Thank you! I’m happy you like the video.
      Yes this is something that people should be more aware of, because drying clothes on a radiator is seemingly harmless, but can cause compounding damp issues. I agree, a dehumidifier is needed in every house!!

    Very helpful tips! Dealing with damp issues myself & I find that I'm following similar steps to the ones you've spoken about. A video on the reports would be useful!! Thanks for sharing!

    Never use masonry paint use a product called stormdry, it’s protects moisture but it’s also breathable

    Is that a solid wall? I couldn’t see the brickwork properly but if it is, you need to be careful with the products you use in them so they don’t lock water into the wall

    • @michaelquadri
      @michaelquadri  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it is a solid wall. Which products would you recommend/avoid to ensure that water isn’t trapped?

      Likely if it was built in that manner, they originally used line mortar. If you point with cement or plaster with normal modern plaster, it stops water evaporating and drying out. If the house is one you want to live in yourself I’d make sure you plaster with lime based plaster and have decent ventilation. Peter Ward from heritage house has some god TH-cam videos in the subject

      Thanks for sharing this, I’ll definitely run it by my builder!! I checked out a couple of Peter Ward’s videos, they’re very informative, thank you for the recommendation 💪🏾

    With all the issues that showed up on the report I hope you were able to negotiate money off the property price

      Seems like I’ll be doing a video on reports & I’ll definitely talk about this! I think the reports are one of the most useful tools to use when it comes to negotiating the price of a property!!

    Omg disaster ...professionals should have known before working inside ....dont be too friendly with builders .youre young ...thry know how to work it.

      We thought that replastering would have sorted it out but it was a deeper issue than expected, so we had to take it back to brick. With hindsight I would have done it from the jump but it’s definitely a learning curve for me 🙏🏾
