PHIL SPECTOR...eccentric behavior, yes. Out of control, yes. Perfectionist, yes. Crazy? Maybe. But, a living legend, a genius! Real genius! The best music producer of the world, fact!!!
You can hear Brian's Smile sessions were 100% inspired on Spectors' mid-60s magic. Rest in Peace Phil, its sad the way things turned out, but in time you will be remembered by your work. Hope you found peace, and god bless!
Vuoi?
Nice photos of the Righteous Brothers (bass-baritone Bill Medley and tenor Bobby Hatfield) and the session musicians, including bass guitarist Carol Kaye and drummer Hal Blaine.
I don't know if Brian Wilson was "in awe" of Phil Spector -- probably so -- but in any case Brian learned a lot from Phil. However, after Pet Sounds Brian couldn't keep producing.
Yes- Earl is on all the Righteous Brothers records, “Born to Be Together” by The Ronettes, all the Ike and Tina records, etc.. Phil and Hal had a falling out sometime during ‘64. If you look on the back of the Righteous Brothers “Back to Back” album, the musician credits give a snapshot of who was playing at that time.
Hi Anthony. 1'14": do you know who that child is, sitting near the drums? It fascinates me that children were allowed during recording sessions. Probably one of the parents didn't have a babysit and brought his/her own child with? I guess Spector wanted total silence while recording his Wreckin' crew. Belgian greetings!
@@AnthonyReichardt thank you Anthony. Nice to read your reaction. Seems that the rest of the crew left their children at school or somewhere else. Enjoy your day/evening. greetings. Ivan

Absolutely his music 50 plus years is still played and loved.
True yes, but he’s a dead legend now

I could listen to this all day
Grande Wrecking Crew e grande Phil Spector....una somma di artisti e talenti musicale!!!

You can understand now where the Pet Sounds magic comes from
R.I.P. Hal Blaine - greatest session player ever.
Hal’s great, yes, but it’s Earl Palmer on this record.
Greatest session drummer, their were 2 drummers on this song.
@@mcrenshaw You sure?
I know he's on "Lovin' Feelin'" but they both weren't recorded at the same session.
Hal Blaine is not just a session drummer, he’s a drumming god.
Phil and Hal had a falling out at some point during 1964 and Earl P. took over as Spector’s drummer. The occasional second drummer was Richie Frost.
Fucking glorious.
You can see where Brian Wilson got his inspiration for the track I just wasn't made for these times on Pet Sounds...
a beautiful historical document, thank you
This is incredible, there will never be music produced this brilliantly ever again.
There sure won’t be Spector was so darn talented!
Mesmerizing as always!!
Nice photos of the Righteous Brothers (bass-baritone Bill Medley and tenor Bobby Hatfield) and the session musicians, including bass guitarist Carol Kaye and drummer Hal Blaine.
Glen Campbell may have been on the session.
this is just the most fantastic thing
I just love seeing and hearing Carol Kaye on the Bass, she was so talented, good enough to be a member of the "Wrecking Crew". Go 👧👍
Just don't write to her and ask about it. She will bite your head off and shit down the stump.
Ho salvato tra i favoriti questo accompagnamento per lo stile e per la musicalità con tanti strumenti....un'orchestra travolgente!!!
🎸❤️Carol Kaye❤️🎸
I shared this bec it’s our history fantastic oldies, but goodies for sure
Nobody does it like the MASTER.
This is magic!
There's a version the Beach Boys did for their "15 big ones" album, 1975. But go look for the instrumental backing track...
Grand opera without words!
Rip phil
FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE-INSTRUMENTAL RIP HAL BLAINE
Incredible match - Phil, Jack, and Larry. Nothing finer ANYWHERE. Thanks for posting these gems.
Many of the same musicians as the Beach Boys used, and Brian was totally in awe of Phil Spector as a producer.
And rightfully so! the absolute finest in the WORLD!
I don't know if Brian Wilson was "in awe" of Phil Spector -- probably so -- but in any case Brian learned a lot from Phil. However, after Pet Sounds Brian couldn't keep producing.
better listen because music will never sound like this ever again.
Yup, sad, but quite true.
Amen
No computers, auto tune or Pro Tools just talented songwriters, musicians and 2 inch magnetic tape

@ultramaximiser You’re right, got my tape size mixed up for that era 👍
The percussion!! 😱🔥
Phil Spector was a musical genius, but he had a crazy streak.
Perhaps that is common for geniuses. Perhaps that contributes to the genius ?
These guys were the real pro's. Want a job? Min. qualification 10,000 hours. Then you might get in serving the coffee.

Got to dig those Altec A-7 Voice Of Theater speakers!
Tres bon thème a creuser... cool cool cool
with the great studio shots and the wall playing in the background.... its got to be yesterday! A big thank you!
Even as a fragment, this is amazing!
Same period with Beach Boys' Today! Then came Pet Sounds and sounds like that!!! Amazing!
Wonderful work. Thank you for posting.
excellent!!!

The rhythm Hal Blaine uses for the verses of this song are just...WOW!
What made anyone think of that???
I don't think this is Hal.. I believe this is Earl Palmer.

I couldn't help but notice the writers. Goffin/King of the famous "Hit Factory" 2 of the most prolific hit song writers of our era.
you forgot one of the other writers: Phil Spector

Dude I thought this was The Beach Boys at first but it’s “Just once in my life” by the righteous brothers
Cool
Look up Carole King’s demo for this song on TH-cam.
Carole King never wrote this song, it's too good for her. Written by Mann & Weil the real master composers
Wrong
Sounds like an instrumental from Pet Sounds
BW owes him one!
Where do you come up with all this great stuff
Phil was blessed beyond measure had an amazing ear for music as a young kid!
Sounds like a track from Pet Sounds (Beach Boys) because - same musicians!
Because Brian ripped Phil off. FIFY.

Sounds like an outtake from "Pet Sounds", that songwriting and arrangement is way too static for it to pass Brian's standards
