@@AlexPfeffer I think some people confuse "dry" with "bad." I'm sure if you sucked out every bit of ambiance from the aforementioned beloved Spitfire libraries, they would sound like "toys".
Thank you for a review of the product but importantly, the feature that sets this apart from other libraries. Lets hope developers take note and retrospectively add this feature to their libraries
Despite the Lookahead option being marketed and pointed out a lot, this library on the other hand seems like finally the strings library one that is a joy to play, very playable and expressive, but it requires knowing how to phrase and some modwheel playing chops and since it is very dry it is quite unforgiving if those chops aren't there. But the dry sound also makes it usable for any kind of genre which is great. It seems that it can also perform those repeated legato lines for example alternating between two notes (with extra round robins from neighbour rr option) which is a nightmare for basically any other conventional strings library, so that is amazing. Definitely seems like a great go-to, all-round strings library actually, not at all so niche as is marketed also in my opinion. I will surely keep an eye on it :).
Great thinking on using compression to help the instruments sound more distant, as air space in the room would naturally compress the sound a bit. Good tip.
In my opinion, this sounds better than Spitfire's new chamber AR2 and NEO which is also a chamber group, but still not as good as OT Berlin Strings despite that library not being a chamber library.
if somebody makes a string library review video in 2022, and they don't tag the video times where the audio is demo'd, they should go to jail. Alex, you're on probation.
I'm looking for a Pop/Rock/Indie/Alrernative/Folk-friendly string library, and I'm a little lost. Most libraries are scoring-oriented and sound too big, too epic, too wet. I'm thinking more Eleanor Rigby on the dryer side, and Radiohead/Bitter Sweet Symphony. I've been told that the latency plugin is very helpful with tempo tightening for Pop/Rock/etc faster tempos. Also that this library is great for fast runs. So my only concern would be... Is it dry enough? I'm also looking into Cinematic Studio Strings and LA Scoring Strings 3. Any preference/recommendation? (I own Spitfire Studio Strings, but they're a little "too big" for some more intimate songs)

How do you like that new feature? I think it would be better with a counter "Hours of working time saved!" xD
Hi. It sounds pretty bad. Maybe it suits for scoring programs like Dorico juxt to play your score mockup. Compering to Spitfire -- it is a toy.
@@DmitryLubenskiy Cool, thanks for this insight. Now we all know you prefer Spitfire.

8:25 this is one of the nightmares i face each time i get to do a score prep >.<
Great to know there's libraries that saves this trouble
hopefully other developers will make lookahead scripts for their libraries so we don't have to fiddle with midi note start points anymore
Yes, it will be really great feature, indeed! :)

Love the workflow of TSS!

I kind of assumed that libraries had lookahead calculations built into making the samples... but geez, this is absolutely essential!
I never say "not another string sample library." Never.
Haha, no you don't Nico :)
I always say it. When the company doesn't release a string library. I say "Not another string library?" 😂
😅👍🏼

Yep, I think TSS should work, also CSS. Technically you could also use any other lib providing close mics.
@@AlexPfeffer Thank you so much!!
A more strange folk rock string libary for you could be albion solistice from spitfire released end of 2021
Also for very dry aound for rock pop musik abbey road two strings are great
Was ist denn deiner meinung nach die Beste Orchestra, (String) Library? Vorallem für balladen?
