Great video Lee, I am amazed at the amount of knowledge you have and share with us. I love watching you on TV but feel that because of the program constraints you can't show how much knowledge you have, you gave an insight to this when you were able to answer so many questions at Southport flower show. Perhaps we should have a TV show just for you, oh and the dogs of course 😃. Was that Barry sat on the wall (can't tell them apart now), he was so interested in what you were saying 😂
Thanks so much Liz! What a lovely comment to recieve on my gardening guides and work on TV's Garden Rescue. I always try and pack as much knowledge in as possible even if the TV edit reduces it somewhat. You'd be amazed at how many people stop me in the street or even in bars to ask about gardening. All of them get an answer, I'm just addicted to spreading the gardening knowledge. Ohhh my own TV show!! Imagine how many new gardeners I could create then!!! ;-) 🌿🥷
Thanks Roy! It’s perfect weather this weekend for popping in some bulbs. I’ve planted about 150 already. Must admit I’m getting a bit tired. But another 50 to go and I’m done!!! Luckily they’re tiny bluebell bulbs next! Not whopper daffs! 🥷🌿🤣👌
@Gardenninja I know what you mean,I was planting allium bulbs yesterday, around 100,its crocus, muscari &fritillaries today(200)then snowdrops if my back will allow,I've put markers in where there's existing/new bulbs,I've got tulips too but I'll wait till it gets colder for those,it's that promise of rebirth in the garden that makes it all worthwhile.
Hey Lee, thank you for all the good advices. There's always something new to learn. And you explain it very well. But I have one little problem with the video. Barry and Percy are so cute that it is difficult for me not to get too distructed from your explanation. I always enjoy very much to see them. 😃🐶🐶❤
🤣🤣🤣 The border Terriers can be really distracting. Hehehe. I can’t garden without them now! Im glad you like guide and it’s still helping you find new learnings! 🌿🥷🤘
@@Gardenninja haha. Oh. They are helpful for sure. Sweet little guys. And I have the impression....they also want to help you too. :)😁 And btw ....very good advise about that bulbs are toxic to dogs. 👍🤟
Hey! I’m glad it’s been useful for you. Bulb planting doesn’t need to be so tricky. When you have Garden Ninjas Hacks!! Make sure you checkout my blog for hundreds more guides. www.gardenninja.co.uk/ happy gardening. 🥷🌿🤘
Yes. So measure the bulb against say your trowel blade. Then move it down twice more and you have your depth. Alternatively if your bulb is 5cm long. Bury it 15cm in the ground. Simple! 🥷🌿👌
Well if you’re planting that many yes you’ll need a more mechanical piece of equipment. For most people though a trowel shall suffice. I always find the augers just chew the soil though and can be a bugger on the wrists if you hit a root or rock!! 🥷🌿🤘
Excellent tutorial again, Lee. Thanks so much. My bulbs are being planted where this year's Cosmos are but they're still flowering. Am I ok for another couple of weeks?
Hi Ellie. Sorry for the slow reply. Been a bit hectic! You can plant bulbs up to December as long as no frost. If you plant them in Jan and Feb usually the ground is too frozen and hard. If so keep them dry and plant in April for next year 🥷🌿🤘
@@Gardenninja no problem at all, Lee. Thanks for getting back to me🌷. Yes, all my bulbs are safely planted now, so I'm hoping for the best in spring 🤞. A few have even started to appear already. Hope they'll survive the coming cold spell. Happy gardening xx
The power of 3 will set you Free...Fibonacci or was it Charmed 🙂 I Props. Fritillaria but going off Tulips they don't seem to last long and only come back willy nilly. Nice Channel subscribed. I just realised you are my colleague 😛 ...I've not seen you on the Jellivision
What if I have autumn blooming crocuses -- when it is safe to move them? Is after they flower dormant enough? I have a lot in a clump that I'd like to separate but I don't know when is the best time.
Hi Hayley. For these wait until next spring before you move them. Then they’ve stored all their energy. If you move then now or after flowering. They won’t have had enough time to store enough energy. So take it easy until April! 🥷🌿👌

Aww thanks. I love my border (dogs) and flower borders too!! 🥷🤣🌿🐶🌸

Thanks so much! Bulbs really do add a blast of hope to the garden in spring and are great for early foraging insects like honey bees 🥷🤘🥰🐝
Really, really useful. I’ll follow that. Bulb planting today 😊
Thanks Gale! Well thought it about time we visited bulbs. Given all the other lack lustre and some times incorrect planting advice! 🥷🌿🤘
The slit trench was just the technique I was looking for as I plan to get bulbs in the ground this weekend. Thank you!

Plant away and bring some early spring cheer to the garden! 🥷🌿🤘
😱 slit trench 😱 absolute game changer! Thanks lee 😊

Fab tip to planting daffodils, I'm in the garden, just in tip. Thanks
Glad it’s helpful for you! Happy planting! 🌿🥷🤘
Thank you for all these tips
Thank you
With the depth rule..is it so the top of the bulb is three times as deep?
Yes. So measure the bulb against say your trowel blade. Then move it down twice more and you have your depth. Alternatively if your bulb is 5cm long. Bury it 15cm in the ground. Simple! 🥷🌿👌
Hi lee I,am glad I have not done my bulbs with a towel has I just put in around 4 thousand bulbs but with a bulb auger

What bulbs and methods suit HEAVY clay?

any tips to stop the squirrels diggin them all up again? :|
Cover them in rose clippings. The thorns deter them! 🥷🌿🤘
