My brother saved me once from a really bad situation, which he reference in a bank transfer as "Operation Dinner Out". He used it as a metaphor to know it was from him. This scene always brings a tear to my eye. The stoic older brother saving the younger at any cost.

However it was Nathans fault that Bishop had to even attempt the rescue.
Nevertheless this movie is so good, and funny (the way Nathan outsmarts Harker).
I could watch this movie then immediately watch it again.

It was a good movie, definitely one of the better spy thrillers out there, but the premise of this last scene is so ridiculously out of the realm of possibility bonkers that it really detracts from the overall quality of the entire movie. A US special forces unit invades Chinese sovereign territory, kills numerous guards, just to rescue a spy? In what world is that even remotely possible?

@@stevenichols2938 Acid Gambit was conducted during the US invasion of Panama. In fact the operation was delayed specifically to wait until the Invasion kicked off. @Shark Racing is correct, this is pretty ridiculous: it would be an act of War.

It was a sort of passing the torch but it didn't came as expected, Pitt is not near in the level of Redford

How though , Bishop is about 40 in this scene, Muir is about mid 60 s makes perfect sense. Bishop was early 20s in Vietnam and Muir was late 40s right?

Rofl they forgot to save the Chinese dude emprisoned with Bishop and the girl.
But Tran (Benedict Wong) wasn't imprisoned along with Bishop and Hadley; he was Harry's contact outside the prison in Sou Chou.
@@cleekmaker00 I rewatched the beginning scene, they forgot not 1 but 2 guys, the ones that were vaccinating the prisoners during Bishop's attempt to free the girl.
I could see the last scene thousand times !!! ...
