There have been movies made about pandemics since at least the 1980's. It's an obvious subject to use for a thriller/horror movie. Do movies about a natural disaster predict Earthquakes? Use your brain.

I've been browsing horror movies on YT for a week now and I about 95% of them I've skipped huge chunks of to get to anything good in them. This is one of the few that had me from the start and never lost me through to the very end. It was so sad and the acting was so good. DEFINITELY an underrated movie.
There are still tens of thousands more to fall. Basic infrastructure will start failing in about a year. Stockpile diesel / petrol, food, water, first aid, self defense, and never trust anybody at all. Get rid of all your friends now. Your best friend will easily hurt you or even kill you to get your resources.

This is actually one of the better low budget films I have seen in quite some time. No need for a bunch of CGI special effects or Green Screen movie sets. It truly plays on the fears of our Gov't. Like my ex-husband used to say..."I love my country, it's my Government I fear."
the govt WASN'T the antagonist in this film as so many tend to believe. this isn't an anti-govt, evil-govt-conspiracy film. this is a mass-hysteria film. it clearly depicts the irrationality and insanity that can be created from group paranoia. people turn into packs of vicious animals, cause chaos and havoc and turn on each other to save their own skin. the fact that so many can't recognize this in this film demonstrates the probability that given a similar situation they'd act the same way. AND THAT'S WHAT'S SCARY!
That was actually one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. The characters were authentic, relatable; they acted/reacted a lot like any other average citizen would. Decent story, plot and conclusion. I'm surprisingly impressed.
No they didn't act like average citizens. The one guy wants to get out cuz he has a court date. Really people being shot and killed around him his door is glued shut the power and water are off and he's worried about a court date, also these people are at each other's throats. You wouldn't be that way towards your neighbors when the world is ending all around you.
If this is what you think average citizens would react and act like, then you're portraying average citizens as having no self control which is weak. In the world wars, men and woman kept their cool, looked out for each other, carried themselves with self control like they were wearing steel armor and valued keeping their dignity and composer. Rather pathetic for anyone today to do otherwise.
I've watched Contagion, Outbreak, Contagious, The Flu, and now I'm watching this, and all because of coronavirus. Next on the list is The Hot Zone. These movies are like pandemic awareness to me. Need to know the worst scenario in order to prep and hope for the best. Stay safe everyone! ❤️

Good small-budget British SF movie with the kind of personal and gritty edge that tends to be lacking in Hollywood. This might not put many bums on seats at the cinema, but it's well worth a watch. Many thanks for sharing.
I'm loving this movie so far. It definitely hits a nerve considering this actually happened to people in China and knowing how they were trapped in their buildings with their loved ones dead bodies for weeks on end makes it terrifying.

Learning more how to stock up on what one will need! Lot's of water even though we have a well. Lot's of caned foods, propane tanks to cook and lot's of 🕯️!
NEVER too to late to prep! My brother's apartment complex is always turning off their water without letting them know ahead in advance. It's just him and his wife but they have started prepping this year, their laundry room and put shelves in and have quite a bit of food. They measure everything so their food will last a little longer + medicines such as Motrin or Benadryl and flu meds or antibiotics to help just in case but they do Buy cases of water as well. You just never know. It's not hoarding... It's being prepared. I would think after seeing all that is going on in this world people would begin prepping their homes and family's, but they're not. Anyone out there read one second later? It can happen. My mom always says: what doesn't happen in 40 years can happen in a day☆
Interesting to watch the characters interact as society devolved around them. I found individual personalities to be believable and well portrayed. Enjoyed this one!
Excellent movie. Too many people in the comments ruined by Hollywood's WHAM, BAM! style of film-making. I loved the very Englishness of it, and the claustrophobic feel aided by the slow-moving inevitability of the descent into chaos. It is called 'Containment', after all. Some people in the comments don't know what good film-making is.

Great soundtrack. Great characters. Great atmosphere. All-around great movie. This is how you do it. You get a story you focus on the people hear it the simplest of settings can be the most enthralling of settings. Just raw human emotion. This is brilliant.

This is a good movie some people on TH-cam are showing how people in China are falling out on the ground face first...blood coming out their mouth once they fall, the people with the white uniforms are collecting people...once in the ambulance or wherever they're taking them, they're cremating their body...it's online on people's channel and they're not reporting this or showing the footage of people being sick...check out the videos, again be safe and keep your family close, reality now just hit off the movie screen...now it's real with no cure and again nobody is taken this situation seriously...this virus is airborne now no cure and every second someone is dying...be safe!!!

Very effective, for a low budget film. The acting and directing were excellent, and they paced it perfectly. Great suspense throughout, it really keeps you invested until the end. I highly recommend it!

Yes, the Grand Princess has docked in Cali port. I am a Navy mom and my son is right in the thick of it at Miramar Marine base. More new barracks to build. A pretty good movie. Like the characters in this movie, most of the comments seem to assume the outbreak was caused by some evil government plot and that you'd be best to run/hide or fight the government in such a situation, rather than simply comply with authorities. I see it completely differently - if there was a pandemic outbreak that was close to 100% fatal and rapidly spreading in a small urban area the most sensible course of action would for the government be to use troops in hazmat suits to isolate/contain the affected area, and then slowly round up the residents to put them into quarantine until they were found to be either sick or not infected. Most of them problems in this movie were due to the civilians panicking and trying to break quarantine/attack the people in the hazmat suits. While it would be tough to stay calm if you found that you were stuck in a contagion zone (think of the poor citizens of Wuhan), if people break quarantine and spread a lethal virus it doesn't help anyone...
I think the twist is that actually there was no outbreak and the government wanted to create a situation where they could kill the adults, separate the children from their parents and get the children under their control.
Never have I watch a low budget film that I enjoyed so much!!! Great job producers and directors!!!!! But next time keep the government out. Nobody believes them anymore!!!!!
Sheltering in place here in the state of Oregon, USA. This thing would have gone down much differently in a country that had a Second Amendment. Was hoping that the hunky mesomorph would hook up with the old lady on the roof, because age is just a number (65 in June).
This was filmed in my tower block in southampton. If you want to know the real name of this tower block it is Copenhagen towers, international way, Weston, Southampton, England.
I was the warden of this block for almost 8 years from 1998 to the end of 2006, maintaining it looking after it's residents especially it's elderly. I left the job just before filming but only lived 2 minutes away so saw most of the filming being done but most of the landing filming was not done in the block so not to upset the resedents day to day lives but the flat and roof scenes where done in the tower block.
But on the real... Please take good care of yourself and your families. Try to stay in to protect your selves and your loved ones. God Bless us all, and Protect us and our families from any harm. Amen. "So be it."

Thing is, if everyone had remained calm, it would have been ok. Also, had they been informed, everything would have been ok. If I were infected, I wouldnt want to endanger anyone else. If I were clean, as in this movie, they obviously were kept safe. Mistrust abounds. It's better to inform than to do this. This created more panic than if they had just told the truth.
Unfortunately the government keeps everyone, in the dark, about everything. What's truly scary is this isn't, out of the realm of possibility. When people decide what's best for you, instead of informing you, this is bound to happen.

The acting in this film is top-notch. It is wrong to label this as you did because people think that you are only getting views because of the key word of 'virus'. With a shoestring budget, a really good film has been made. How did this not make it to the big screen?

Great soundtrack. Great characters. Great atmosphere. All-around great movie. This is how you do it. You get a story you focus on the people hear it the simplest of settings can be the most enthralling of settings. Just raw human emotion. This is brilliant.
I don't understand why it didn't get more praise or attention? It's a solid film, more done right than wrong. It's a better movie than most 'mainstream' movies.

This is a good movie some people on TH-cam are showing how people in China are falling out on the ground face first...blood coming out their mouth once they fall, the people with the white uniforms are collecting people...once in the ambulance or wherever they're taking them, they're cremating their body...it's online on people's channel and they're not reporting this or showing the footage of people being sick...check out the videos, again be safe and keep your family close, reality now just hit off the movie screen...now it's real with no cure and again nobody is taken this situation seriously...this virus is airborne now no cure and every second someone is dying...be safe!!!

Wow, I was really impressed by this film. Excellently told with a great pace and pretty convincing story. I'm seeing awards given to a lot if small, low budget films that don't deserve have the praise this one should get. Anymore from this crew?

Very effective, for a low budget film. The acting and directing were excellent, and they paced it perfectly. Great suspense throughout, it really keeps you invested until the end. I highly recommend it!

Yes, the Grand Princess has docked in Cali port. I am a Navy mom and my son is right in the thick of it at Miramar Marine base. More new barracks to build. I think he started building there last Nov. 2019. I havent seen him in 5 years. This movie is similar to what I heard people describe in the yt videos. A pretty good movie.
Like the characters in this movie, most of the comments seem to assume the outbreak was caused by some evil government plot and that you'd be best to run/hide or fight the government in such a situation, rather than simply comply with authorities. I see it completely differently - if there was a pandemic outbreak that was close to 100% fatal and rapidly spreading in a small urban area the most sensible course of action would for the government be to use troops in hazmat suits to isolate/contain the affected area, and then slowly round up the residents to put them into quarantine until they were found to be either sick or not infected. Most of them problems in this movie were due to the civilians panicking and trying to break quarantine/attack the people in the hazmat suits.
While it would be tough to stay calm if you found that you were stuck in a contagion zone (think of the poor citizens of Wuhan), if people break quarantine and spread a lethal virus it doesn't help anyone...
I think the twist is that actually there was no outbreak and the government wanted to create a situation where they could kill the adults, separate the children from their parents and get the children under their control.

Sheltering in place here in the state of Oregon, USA. This thing would have gone down much differently in a country that had a Second Amendment. Was hoping that the hunky mesomorph would hook up with the old lady on the roof, because age is just a number (65 in June).
Rather ironic that they came out with so many coronavirus pandemic movies before it became a reality, someone's got a good sense of humour.
This was filmed in my tower block in southampton. If you want to know the real name of this tower block it is Copenhagen towers, international way, Weston, Southampton, England.

I was the warden of this block for almost 8 years from 1998 to the end of 2006, maintaining it looking after it's residents especially it's elderly. I left the job just before filming but only lived 2 minutes away so saw most of the filming being done but most of the landing filming was not done in the block so not to upset the resedents day to day lives but the flat and roof scenes where done in the tower block.

Thing is, if everyone had remained calm, it would have been ok. Also, had they been informed, everything would have been ok. If I were infected, I wouldnt want to endanger anyone else. If I were clean, as in this movie, they obviously were kept safe. Mistrust abounds. It's better to inform than to do this. This created more panic than if they had just told the truth.
Unfortunately the government keeps everyone, in the dark, about everything. What's truly scary is this isn't, out of the realm of possibility. When people decide what's best for you, instead of informing you, this is bound to happen.
Read Daniel Defoe's book "Journal of the Plague Year". He agrees with you.
