Did the back tires rub ? Did you have to add a spacer in the rear ?

Back tires don't rub the inner fender. They are close but no issues. I keep them at 100 PSI so they bulge less at the bottom. 🔧

So many shops out there are afraid to work on these class A's you almost have to work on your own because no one else will. 🔧

I was interested in finding out about jacking the motorhome up, jack stands and jack that actually will go high enough especially with an air ride suspension only. My motorhome doesn't have leveling jacks, just the HWH air system.

When spring arrives I'll have to cover different options.. I've got a few different ways to solve that problem 🔧

I used a bottle jack when I changed the tires. I also used a regular car jack stand to stabilize it but I also kept the jack under it also. I kept it simple and did one wheel at a time. 🔧

Awesome to see someone who won’t pay to have something done they can do with a bit of sweat and ingenuity

Nice video, did you say the valve stem should end up opposite the dot so that the wheel is semi balanced? I was gonna use balancing beads… but wonder if they’re even needed. Did you end up needing to balance the wheels further…after driving on the new tires?
    Thanks
    Frank

I lined it up with the dot because when they make it it's exactly °180 from the heaviest point.
I never used anything to balance mine but I don't feel any (out of balance) feeling even at 75 MPH. I got lucky. I know if I needed to a Big Truck tire shop would balance it for $20 each if I took it off and brought them in.
I know that beads don't kick in till 40MPH and it will shimmy bad at 35 around town till you hit the highway. Wheel weights are the best choice 🔧

Did you Balance the tire, and how did you do it?

No I didn't Balance them but I will be buying balancing plates that will go behind the wheels and automatically balance them as I drive just like the larger 18 wheel trucks use.

converting the old 8R 19.5 PR12's to the more modern tire makes a lot of sense. I've been researching to do the same to my '90 HR Aluma-Lite XL and everything seems to convert to 225/70R 19.5 I realize that a 245 is only 10mm higher than a 225 (which is actually only about 1/2 inch. But I think they are a litter wider as well (just don't know how much wider) My question is, did you experience any issues with the dual width on your drive axle when using the 245/70R 19.5? The spacing between the two inner/outter dually tires?

I can put my fingers in-between the doel tires . I'm not having a single issue with them touching. I keep them at 100 psi so they should never touch or overheat. Also when replacing them don't forget to replace your spare with the same one. I also got longer brass valve stems for the inside rears. On mine I also bent them to aim straight through the hole. I never trust those extended braided hoses. 👍

Here is a link on the tires I put on. I went ahead and bought 9 because I wanted to replace the spare.ill be doing more road tests on them in the spring. 👍

How can you tell the date of the tire? How is the ride and the tire noise? I need new tires on my RV.
