  • hey there, This 1966 Chevelle super sport is an incredibly rare example on its own when it was new, now its far more rare as it is a car completely remanufactured and restored by yours truly jmp saves cars. im just one man and a medium one at that, this task was incredibly deceiving as to the true state of the car and the only reasonable way to truely make it new again was to replace its frame and body floor/foundation all at once without changing the exact positioning of the firewall and rear quarter inner structure. when it was disected it was locked in place and frozen until the work was complete only removing one piece of the puzzleat a time. 4 years went by and in those four years there were many periods when strategy was developed and parts and resources were gathered. This was the single hardest car ive ever done on my own. hard to unterstand why but when you change this many parts and variables its hard to come out with exactly the same shape thing in the exact same location. go ahead try to put everything back in the fridge after taking it all out ill wait.... exactly.
well i hope you enjoy and this is only a breifing i have all the pictures and video from this restoration i will be posting.
id like to thank ‪@coldwarmotors‬ for being a great motivator and entertainer and ‪@CarterAutoRestyling‬ for just making it all look so darn easy man he moves fast with a hammer. please check out there channels if your into crusty junk. i have to also mention the man on the hill ‪@TheTowBro‬ for all the assistance moving this very special machine with his car and attention to detail. cheers

A sign of good work is when it looks like you did not do anything. You have done excellent work and it shows. I am an old 76 year old man and have only been a bodyman all my live . and love this story and history given in your video.

Coming out amazing. Can't wait to see it with paint at and cruising on the Blvd.

Awesome accomplishment. You only touched the surface of what was actually done to the car. It would take hours to explain it all.

Truly was a near impossible mission only a true idiot would try to complete!

This is coming out wonderfully. Great workmanship. I also have a 1966 Chevelle convertible , original Marina Blue. Currently amassing parts for it's restoration. I have had it in a dry garage for the last twenty six years. Small block automatic with a power top. After seeing what you found with the chassis I am a bit apprehensive but will go forward with this project and hope for the best. Curious how you found another replacement frame? Anyway I have subscribed and will follow your progress. All the best.

Thankyou! Every car has its own experiences. This car had been “restored” twice allready and a lot of covered up rust. You may have a different senario. Go only after what you must fix and leave good enough alone. This car had no choice it had to be remanufactured. Please reach out with any questions. Jims chevelle alley found the frame in texas and i had it powder coated. They are good chassis but prone to holding junk and rotting at the body mounts and front perimeter corners i would have repaired it but the whole chassis was half the original thickness where it counts. Stay tuned
