    Nice video. Thanks. I only do around 10 dives during holiday in warmer waters. And I'm with SSI. It's time for a own computer. It should be nice and kind of elegant ;-) Still pending between the Mares Smart, the Sirius and the D5. The Mares Smart is run by battery and needs extra equipment to connect to a computer (not even the ssi app), but it's cheap.
    The D5 looks nice, but has to be recharged quite often (how many times till the accu dies????), it's still a bit cheaper than the Sirius but doesn't go with the ssi app.
    The Sirius was said to have a weak dark display (it's quite ok as I've seen in the video), but it goes with the ssi app and looks quite nice (as the D5 does). I have no idea wether Mares or Suunto builts stronger/better worshiped computers .... so maybe I'll find a video about the D5 here later ;-)

      The D5 is getting ready to be discontinued and replaced with the Suunto Ocean.
      I would highly recommend the ocean over the Sirius or D5 and we have a video on it for you

    Thank for the awesome review! Is the mares Sirius hard to read in terms of brightness? Looks kind of dimmed

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was my main issue with this computer or either of the Mares products we reviewed. We also reviewed the Quad Air 4. While I liked a lot of the features of this computer, how well it worked, my biggest issue was it's brightness. I was also not impressed that it had no features (other than time and date) as a daily wear. For going in and out of deco, time, depth, NDL, etc. it does well, but, again, tough for me to see in lower light situations.

      Many SSI shops, that sell the Mares products, offer the "Computer Diving" Certification that can help you a lot :_)

    I know a dude that the bracelet separate from the watch during dive, maybe when taking gear out in water. Any tip on how to have redundancy on keeping the watch on your arm?

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      interesting question. The first consideration is to wear a redundant computer first. Even, just adding a manual SPG is better than nothing. Next, a good inspection of the gear you are wearing prior to diving can help for sure. I also see divers crank their computers down, really tightly. All this really does is add additional wear and tear to the rubber straps. Another solution for many computers is to continuous bungee instead of a strap (if that is an option for the computer). This is very durable for sure.

    Thanks for the video, how does it compare to the mares Genius. i currently own a mares smart and looking to upgrade.

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The mares Genius is a lot larger and much easier to read. I don't have a lot of experience with the Genius though. But, for the price and feature set, I would choose a Perdix 2 instead

    Does anyone else find it weird that GF now and GF @surf don't match by the end of the dive? I noticed that in my sirius and it seems to be the case in the dive shown here as well.

    • @TeachMeToDive
      @TeachMeToDive  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Those two numbers won't match until you are actually out of the water and sometimes can take a minute or two (with the Sirius) after you get out, for them to align

    Hi, regarding 10:05 about GF and SurfGF. I found the information in manual that if you go into complications display by holding MODE during the dive then you can cycle information in the bottom right corner and you can view Main GF, GF now/GFsurf, O2, CNS, PP02, TOD, Batt, Batt Transmitter and RMV :) @teachmetodive
