Hell of a vid guys. Really enjoyed watching that. Nice to have a series to watch thats based in Aotearoa so now I dont have to get my fix watching the Aussies..lol Cant wait for the next episode. :-)
2:27 Do I call back my mates and say "Calling you on my Samsung S9+ and I just gotta pull over and adjust my General tyres",No .. its just tyres, its just a phone, its just suspension/shocks....... Dont make the advertising so obvious
Great footage mate, nice to see some NZ overlanding. What have you done with the Cruiser (lift, lockers, etc)? How has it been as an overlanding vehicle? It looks great playing in its element. 👍
Thanks mate, glad you are enjoying the series. In a nutshell 2'' lift, rear locker, bar work, full dull battery setup and about 1000 other little things. Will put together a full rig walk around video. Lots of people have been asking.
I didnt know Mountain State Overland were doing franchises? The exact same thing with your own flavour rather than copying would be awesome. Theres a need for an NZ one of these, and it could be you for sure. But gotta be original.
I'm curious as to who keeps making up stories about the Terrano in there. Pretty positive when it went only 1 guy was in it and we had a spotter. The road collapsed under his wheel, that's why we put the fencing there and cut the bush back.
Thanks Michael, seat belts are mandatory on all public roads including beaches. On private land it is technically up to you. saying that we make a point to always have ours on. The rear times you'll see us without it is if we've just gotten back into the car with a camera, ore are doing a river crossing.
Michael Holmes there are heaps of tracks in nz north and south island you could spend months exploring don’t forget england and half of scotland would fit in the south island and there is only just under a million people there
Yes you will most probably be fine. 20" rims are not ideal for offroading so make sure your wheel placement is right to avoid side wall damage. take some recovery gear with you as track conditions can vary. You want to be self sufficient. But most importantly go and have fun.
Cameron Chambers that was the original plan, but the way the the approach worked out the landcruiser could get over Far enough. Notice how the wheels are steering left as It come over the hill. The road was also a lot narrower then it looked on camera.
suzuki lova There’s Probably not a lot of difference between those two months. I’d keep an eye on the rainfall about a week before your planning a trip. That will give you a bit of an idea on track condition.
@@4WDNewZealand Went through on the weekend (End April 2019). Lots of work with an excavator (or similar) done on the track. All the "Fun" bits flattened. River crossing boulders moved out. Truck wreck removed. Last washout (and the "sissy track") all gone! Not as much fun as last year (April 18). Bit of a farm track. Might get a few more ruts n stuff in the future though.
Due to that vehicle being down that washout. Doc demanded the insurance company temove it. So they took a difger the whole way throigh to recover the vehicle and bow this season just gone its a 2wd track
Nice video guys, trucks looking mint too

What size tyres were the vehicles running to get through 42nd track?
Hi Terri, we are all running 33's in this video
Nice video guys.... what is the law on seat belt on tracks in NZ and especially 4wd in general?? Greetings from the UK

Hey mate just wondering if you think this track would be possible on 32” tyres with 20” rims with aggressive tread? Cheers

Why did you drive in the rut where the flipped car was ? Why not drive in the flat ?

4WD New Zealand makes sense I'll keep that in mind when I go #beginer
what would you suggest that the best time to go through the 42 traverse? December-january?

4WD New Zealand hey thanks for the help. what time did you go through?
suzuki lova we went through in April, about a week before the track closed for the season.
