I think Liu Kang is just saying that now that Mortal Kombat isn’t the norm, he prefers to avoid it but would prepare his champions if it were unavoidable.
But yeah, I like how Old Raiden would probably react to that. 🤣

But at the same time, he (Liu Kang) *did* do his own "brother" (Kung Lao) dirty by basically denying him the chance to be "The Chosen One" and Earthrealm's new Champion though like he so rightfully deserved so yeah, kinda earned the "side-eye" for that one. Plus, it's because of *Raiden* that Liu Kang possess the powers and position that he enjoys now anyways so there's *that* as well lol.

This new timeline/era was supposed to be a new opportunity/fresh start for Kung Lao to *finally* receive his proper due as the new "Chosen One" and thus MK Champion especially since *that* was pretty much what was promised back in MK11 anyways in Fire God Liu Kang's ending, but then in *this* game, it seems that that was nothing more than complete and utter "false advertising" as apparently *Raiden* ends up being the "Chosen One" and Earthrealm's new Champion instead of Kung Lao (as was promised/advertised in MK11) so technically speaking, *YES* Liu Kang *MOST CERTAINLY* did him dirty by not "sticking to his guns" so to speak and going along with Kung Lao being the new "Chosen One" instead of Raiden. So Kung Lao "lost" his chance due Liu Kang's "false promise", not because of "ego".
Liu Kang gave Raiden a better chance at winning in the tournament than the Elder Gods did in Battle of the Realms.
Yeah it’s weird why is it this mortal raiden can use ability’s in the tourment while movie raiden couldn’t

@@Tribrid-zv3nq No..... I was saying Liu Kang gave Raiden a better advantage in a tournament with giving him some abilities to work with. Let's be honest it's kind of dumb and unfair that Shao Kahn gets a higher advantage with his abilities and Raiden can't even use his thunder abilities with restrictions on them. All they had to do was take away his immortality and give him a limit on his abilities. Why have thunder abilities if you can't even use them?

It feels weird to see Liu Kang and raiden's role reversed. What's more Outworld is peaceful not ruled by a blood thirsty back stabbing dominatrax queen. Not that I’m complaining. Just an odd feeling.

7:17 Liu Kang had a flash back of Raiden sending Kung Lao to his death in the colosseum (MK9).
7:16 Liu Kang shoulder checks Raiden and straight up calls his ass from another timeline for throwing him and his friends into mortal kombat and getting Kung Lao killed.

Wouldn't make sense since Fire God Liu Kang is from pre-MK2 MK tournament deaths. He knows about the shit that happened after that but he never had to experience it

Liu Kang just seems "giving" Raiden weapon, when actually he unlocked Raiden's true power inside him. The "weapon" was just so the others doesn't feel like they're not as special as Raiden who born with lightning power.

I actually like this version of Raiden he’s more youthful but still has wisdom from previous raiden in different timeline
This version of Raiden is originally human while his alternate timeline counterpart has already rejected his godhood.
In the old timeline, Liu Kang was the Chosen One.
In the new timeline, Raiden is the Chosen One.
How Raiden got his groove back
I love kung lao's expressions during johnny and kenshi's banter on why they are there, his "ugh so stupid " expression for Johnny, his nodding in agreement to kenshi being called out and his "damn right my guy" look when raiden spoke up
I think the amulet has the power of the previous Raiden. In mk11 when Liu Kang became a god he became the god of fire AND thunder, but it in mk1 he's only the god of fire and he doesn't display any lightning powers. I think that he siphoned the previous Raiden's thunder into the amulet after the elder gods forged it just like how he gave up his Titan powers
I find it cheeky that now it's Liu Kang giving Raiden a chance to become a Chosen One

I didnt like Raiden had to use a magic artifact to control lightning. Liu Kang trained with monks and could generate fire at will
Yeah it felt weird but I got used to it. I like to think the amulet just focuses his chi into powerful lightning so it’s sorta like his channeler. Considering how it was only a few months they’re likely wasn’t enough time to reach him whereas liu kang got years
I think liu might also be some decsandant of dragons too lol
Don't mind, it's a siphon to use his powers under some control and not accidentally fry others like he unfortunately did to Liu in MK9 ending.
what's funny about johnny wanting to use this experience to make a cinematic universe is that he'd probably find more success if he went public with his "discovery" of outworld.
People would call him crazy like the guy with the alien body
And probably Liu Kang never will Let him do it since was his decision maintain all about outworld non public
It's much easier to make a movie rather than find people who will believe that a former A-list actor gone nobody entered a tournament with supernatural creatures and he faced them head on using nothing but his strength
Who would believe him? Plus he does make his goal come true in the end.

Remember when Liu Kang became the God of Fire AND lightning? What happened to his lightning powers? I think he poured his lightning power into the amulet because he knew he would meet mortal Raiden one day and wanted to give Raiden his powers back.
I’m kinda bummed cause I wanted him to have lighting and fire gameplay I hope he gets the lightning back in mk2 while Raiden learns to make natural lightning

Considering how the Elder Gods turned out previously, i call bs on them crafting the amulet.
I notice, however, that Liu Kang doesn't use lightning anymore.
That's because Raiden is no longer apart of him.
This is testament to how skilled Liu kang is. He never had this advantage in the previous timeline.

In all of the history of mortal kombat, the one constant thing is the vagueness of the tournament itself. No rules explanation or anything, how are fighters selected, brackets, nothing.

Where did Liu Kang get his fire powers though, from Armageddon till now, it was never explained one way or another.
Maybe he just from an ancient race like sub zero and other elemental character maybe
He trained for years at the wu shi academy and learned how to make fire by focusing his chi. Mk has very vague magic rules. Smoke learned practical magic which is why he am control smoke. Raiden could probably learn how to naturally make it to but Liu kangs like “I hoped yo ass would learn it by now but this time crunch ain’t shit so this amulet and Lego”
In MK 11, Cetrion said that his powers were the same as Onaga's dragon fire. Are these statements true?

Maybe the Kitana from this new timeline since Liu Kang seems to be only interested in Titan Kitana who's from his original timeline.

Lol it’s not exactly fair to make a normal guy go to kombat edenians, shokan, and other almost immortal magic species with only a few months of monk training. Give him awhile to cook and that amulet will just be a good accessory
Considering the rules for this tournament only allows 1 Earthrealmer to fight against 7 Outworlders, this Raiden getting powers evens it out.

I like this game's story. Just one sad thing is hanzo is not the scorpion ,kuai liang is and ends up marrying harumi and starts shirai Ryu (scorpion character ending). Ig hanzo either does not exist or he is living peaceful life somewhere else
I think there was no other choice for Hanzo. It was either that or the endless cycle of his wife and son dying. Now Hanzo is Kuai Liang's adopted son.

@@mikemike7326liu Kant did it so raiden doesn’t end up like older raiden as he was easily influenced by evil or corrupted. Him with such power infused would be an issue but making him human and with an artifact would temper him and keep him humble throughout. Liu king mentions why
He’s not a god so he’d theoretically have to train to naturally use lightning. Liu kang mastered his fire power over years and they didn’t have the time for that. He’ll likely learn use lightning on his own next game and maybe with a red lightning rage stance judging by his ending

It would have been a cool DLC, but like Marvel and DC, multiverse is just an cheap cop out to retcon the material and create a new big bad guy. Which is absurd because MK has allot of publish lore and an MK game doesnt have to be an apocalyptic scenario. It could be anything from a small conflict to a proxy war between realms. Its like they do this on purpose because of a corporate scheme or something because the lazy writing is obviously intentional because the context is being canned with zero rational
