Ha ha ha ha ha, those $3 speakers, honestly it is a small miracle they work in the first place. There is no comparison between the two. Wonderful enclosure for both of them. I hope I can make my own one day.
This is the best example of the Developed World country verses any Underdeveloped country. 1. The space will be messy, I'll lit. Covered in saw dust 2. No power tools 3. No apron or protective gear ..no ear plugs, eye shield etc 4. No cutting board with measurements .. Only pencil and metal tape 4. The braces the braces the braces !!!! Impossible I can't find that in India...would cost as much as a speaker 5. Lastly ....the neatness of the process, the apparent precision all fit in...ends and means are aligned. The underdeveloped world neither has the tools, at affordable cost, nor there is work culture to achieve this ....alas. The world will keep diverging ...rich will become richer...richer in cleanliness, health, money , knowledge ...while the poor will consume consume and consume....I can't even get that angled brush !

I really enjoyed how you shared A/B of both speakers at same listening position in same room, etc. It gave us really good insight into the differences between these two speakers. When I heard the B speakers, I was like, that's gotta be a folded horn or something to get that bass from that tiny thing. But I preferred the bigger speakers and I love how you have that angle on the face and a wood port, gorgeous!
wow those are nice! on a related note; i bought similar speakers from Radio Shack for $35.00 ea 20 years ago and they are superior enough that i still use them for studio monitors to this day.
I'd like to see that speaker done as a 2 way and larger cabinet myself. Any chance of that? Hell, I'd pay see them built and then review them on my channel! Maybe using Dayton Esoteric mid/base Driver and Peerless Corundum tweeter? Perhaps even with active X overs using MiniDSP? I'm thinking ported?
Similar to the speaker design my brother and I developed back in 1965. Dual Plane Trapezoidal folded horn with no parallel planes. Provided incredible full range fidelity with superb bass response without any standing wave.
It would be interesting to see what happened if you swapped drivers, put the cheap speakers in the oak box and the expensive ones in the other box and see how the sound compares again.
These paired with a sub has to sound awesome, but they sound very nice by itself. The other set of speaker need a sub, these speakers not so much but with one they has to sound even better.
It is worth measuring with the same dynamic heads. One set of speakers is 4 ohms, the second is 8 ohms. Therefore, a significant difference in sound. Try different speakers with the same dynamic heads, then you can draw conclusions about the design of the speaker system.

前回のガラススピーカーはちょっと遊び過ぎたのでセオリー通りのスピーカーを作ってみました。
吸音材は少なめに、僅かですが箱鳴りを残しています。
使っているアンプはLM3886というパワーアンプICを使って自作したものになります。
後半で、原音・マークーディオ・ダイソースピーカー改の比較をしています。

さすがにそちらのような設備はないので切断はできませんが１度、自分で作ってみようと材料は揃えたので参考になりました。
聴き比べでの音の違いもわかったので興味深い動画でした。
オイルはお勧めです。
なぜか日曜大工はニス仕上げが主流ですが、オイルのほうが木の質感もよく、失敗がありませんから初心者でもプロと同じような質感の作品ができますよ。
作ってみたいと思うけど実際作ってみると難しいんだろうな。すげえ技術だよ！あっぱれです！
今回のスピーカーの方が音に厚みがありますね。ただ安い方も高音域がしっかり出ている感じですね。素晴らしい
傾斜バッフルのエンクロジャーは素晴らしい精度でできておりとても美しいです。傾斜があれば定在波の影響をなくすことができるので出てくる音もとても聴きやすい音になるでしょう。ただ気になったのはバスレス・ダクトを固定してしまったことです。もし完成後に音出しをして測定をした場合にもう少し調整がしたい時にはできなくなります。わたしは塩ビ管を利用してバッフルには塩ビ管の内径分の穴をあけて、バッフル内側に当て板を作りこの板に塩ビ管の外径分の穴を開けました。あらかじめ計算したFd分の長さのパイプを挿入して聴感と測定で長さを調整して決めました。

You're right about the B speakers, look at his channel, the building process is even better than these ones
喫茶店などで使用するにはちょうど良いと存じます。重低音が出ないのは当然だと思います。軽いタッチのBGMとして使用するにはベストですね。
これほどスキルあったら自作スピーカー作り楽しいだろうな、うらやましい。
