The Siberian Traps took 2 million years to put out 4 million cubic kilometers of material, while the Deccan traps put out 1 million cubic kilometers, but did it in only 300,000 years. That means that the Deccan Traps put out 1.667 times as much material as the Siberian Traps on a yearly basis. This flood basalt may have severely weakened the life on Earth, and the Asteroid gave it the final blow, or the Deccan Traps may have done it all and the asteroid just happened to hit after most of the extinction event was done.

There was nothing for the dinos to eat because all the vegitation had burnt. But the birds eggs in the burnt trees survived. If everything had been burned then what was left for the underground mammals to eat. This shit is very contradictory.

We have technology and the ability to tailor our environments to fit our needs. We can and do already grow food regardless of the environment. We can keep ourselves warm in the harshest of winters and cool in the harshest of summers. And we can do that without modern technology unless Inuit people did not really exist or the opposite in the middle east deserts. We can do that with primitive technology.. modern and survive even more comfortably. Dinosaurs depended on the correct environment and could do nothing but die if they didn't get it. We humans can adapt our environments to suit us and adapt our behavior to suit the environment at the same time. Sure billions would die off but humans wouldn't become extinct like dinosaurs.
