Inequality is a common problem in all countries of the world. Inequality exists not only in North America, but also in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and Oceania. The squid game contains content that people around the world can relate to. This work is excellent at depicting human psychology. That is the factor of popularity.
Inequality exists in every country The squid game covers a common theme of people around the world So it seems to be popular. The squid game is a good work
income injustice is EVERYWHERE. The reason why this squid game is popular is b/c most working people COULD relate what the characters are going through. Just look at all the reaction to Episode 6
The powerful/weak rich/poor trope is practically in Every piece of Korean content I've seen from tv shows to reality tv to films. And Ive bee swathing Korean content for 15+ years. So glad to see them get this investment and more eyes on their stories.
1. The Korean-American woman who started this whole debate was actually reading the wrong subtitles. 2. Korean is a language with many unique characteristics, which are hard to translate. Because of this translators of Korean often have to make decisions which give the general idea but miss little nuances. 3. To provide an exact translation of Korean would likely mean that you would need subtitles which fill up half the screen, and would probably have made the show much less enjoyable to watch.
@@mstarry no I wasn't. I'm sure South Korea has inequalities. Ya know... like EVERY country on earth. This is a comment on the title of this video. Not the show. The show itself is awesome!
The problem is the WHY. What caused the characters to commit such actions to end up in the Squid Games? WHY did Gi-Hun develop a gambling habit. WHY did Sang-Woo steal from his company/clients?
@@Kadaspala it's a movie with multiple themes, inequality is a stretch, but I do think the girl who escaped, and the guy who got betrayed were treated unfairly by the two characters we are suppose to care about ( I don't)
I really hate that they don’t have accurate translations. It’s so important that people know what the writers wrote.
Yeah. The written translation was bad and the dubbed translation was even worse!
Netflix: Please redo the English subtitle to better match Korean meaning.

Gee, it's almost as if the system being stacked against them incentivizes them to gamble and lie or something 🤔
