Go Go is actually a really deep and kind of sad song about the hopeless financial situation the younger generation are in to the extent that they've essentially given up trying to invest in their own futures. Shen they had the press conference for this album, they shared the true meaning behind this song which IS very BTS. Most albums they have what they call a "socially conscious" song where they give commentary on something they have observed or felt strongly about. They explained that GoGo was that for Love Yourself: Her; it’s a very sarcastic take on the mindset youth have on the value of money. All we want to do is squander our money when we have it and enjoy ourselves, all while excusing our behaviour by saying that we only live once.
Yoongi said "The current generation uses phrases like YOLO and having fun squandering money, but I don’t think people think about why they use such terms so much even while using the terms. We tried to interpret [this phenomenon] through BTS’s unique perspective."
Namjoon also said, "The song revealed just how tough it was to be young in this day and age. It’s about how our young generation are living their lives with low expectations and standards so people are upset with reality; they have little hope and there’s so much economic hardship. We wanted to say something about it and emphasise to the world that it’s not their choice, but brutal reality that forces people to live and spend as if there’s no future."
On its surface, “Go Go” sounds like a blissed-out trip-hop ditty that prays at the church of YOLO partying. But in fact, the lyrics contain sharp criticisms of materialism and the emptiness that comes with constantly searching for the next high.
“It isn’t a BTS album if there isn’t a track criticising society.”
I agree with others, you should watch the dance practice Halloween version of this song. It's so much better for seeing the dance.
This live performance is from their online concert they did during Covid. The entire concert had a different vibe because of everything happening. It was emotional for the boys and Army watching online. Still amazing, of course. I'll stop rambling now, but hope you have a chance to watch the GoGo dance practice. Bye!

I love the halloween performance where they dressed up as Snow White and seven dwarfs. Or the KBS one in dressing gowns and playing game consoles. My favs are I think the 2017 MBC special (on Bangtantv) or MCountdown come back stage. It’s one of Jimin’s favourites too.
I’m so looking forward to this! Go Go is one of my fav songs to see preformed. They all have their moments in it but totally agree that Tae is especially Iconic in this performance. He slayyed. The Halloween dance practice is iconic too. A firm fan favourite. If you do react to it, it’s worth baring in mind that Tae appears subdued in it as he had just in the days prior tragically lost a close friend to suicide. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

As with most of their lighter sounding songs, there is actually a whole lot more going on especially with Korean context. I recommend the explanation from Minidance - she explains the intricacies/subtleties of the lyrics really well.

I watched the Jimin focus video. They were all amazing though.
Put any kind of body roll in the choreography and suddenly Jimin is going to turn it sexy. Not on purpose on this one (he really did try to tone them down) but it happened nonetheless. Plus quite a bit of the choreo showed off his gorgeous lines when he dances. This is not shade on anyone else, btw. They all did well.
The dance break they go all out but the moment jungkook comes in the center his energy explodes like crazy I mean bang pd made him the center for a reason 😎💜
... JK has more lines - especially early in their career whihc is why you can find him often in the Center position.... but there is NO "Center"...
@ruthfischer7615 if you Google bts member profiles & based on namjoon saying on Burn The Stage docu series, jungkook is the center of the grp. It is official position. Don't downgrade each of them since we know each member had their position as well. They're doing really great. That's the fact.

"Center" is about choreography, not status. Each of the members become center to draw focus as they move through the choreo to deliver their lines.
Bang and Son Sung-deuk PD-nims were definitely geniuses forming the group and assigning roles where the members' musical and dance abilities shine brightest. They have also *all* been allowed to grow so much!
No need to get into arguments about anything! We all know OT7 are amazing - whatever their role and however many "lines" they get. Complementing one doesn't diminish the others, and complimenting OT7 doesn't take credit away from individual greatness. 🥰💜🤗

Center often implies that they are the only one that has talent: the Justin Timberlake or Beyonce of the group and the rest backup/unimportant.
Which is not true. Which is why I fight that defintion.
I mean you CAN only follow JK or love him in the group. No one is stopping you.
But if you are real Army you will accept that the others are talented/gifted also.

Go Go! Woohoo! Fun on the surface; deep underneath, like so much of BTS's music. What I especially love about this song, besides the killer choreo, are all the quirky background noises and that repeating flute. 💜
This is from their BangBangCon online concert in June 2020. This is a zoomed in version and I also think might have been one of the multi-view cams instead of the main cam which is why you’re getting some frames of another camera. It’s a really good concert though. It’s the first one BTS put on during the pandemic after their tour was postponed. They performed a few songs from MOTS:7 here. Eventually when they realized the pandemic was going to last a lot longer than we all thought it was going to, they did the Map of the Soul On:E concert in October of 2020 and performed some of the other songs from the album that they would have on tour (had they been able to tour).

I'm from the era when they used to perform it in a cute vibe 😂 wearing colorful clothes. This was the 1st & I think only time when they turned it into a sexy vibe. I mean dance wise, costume wise and everything 🫠
Btw this song was also used for their game's general OST too, and it brings back all those memories of "BTS WORLD" - the game is now no more there 🥹

Your comment about V going all out reminded me of when BTS did their performance video at the United Nations. As they dance through the lobby of the building, V jumps and clicks his heels (and seemingly so effortlessly too), which I thought was great!

If im not mistaken, the live was from their ON:E concert in 2020. Since the pandemic canceled pretty much everything, they did an online concert. It was awesome to watch.

RM, Suga and Jin were not good dancers as trainees but by the time of their debut in 2013 they were good. It is now 10 years later. 10 years of learning complicated choreography and performing on the world stage. They ARE dancers. One of the interesting things about BTS is that people new to BTS watch VLives, interviews and behind the scenes from the earliest days until current. Many ARMYs remember insignificant things a member said or did years ago and often put way too much importance on what was said.
Someone definitely needed to remind Jimin and tae that this is a cute song not serendipity or singularity . Like why are they staring at the camera like this ! ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ

This is another song that is a fun banger but embedded a bunch of social commentary behind the fun hook. A BTS signature move. The lives all vary but tend to be very funny and goofy.

It's a bummer you reacted to a zoomed in version, you didn't get to see the entire danceee but it's still a great performance of Go Go. This is probably my second favorite live perf of Go Go after the one they did on MBC where they pull a cute surprise. The halloween dance practice of this is so funny too!!

loved the reaction!! but sadly the live video you watched is very zoomed in so you miss a lot of the choreo because its from their online paid concert so the only way that youtube channel was able to keep it up was to zoom it in a lot. you should 100% check out a zoomed out version even on your own time to see the choreography better :)

if I remember correctly this was a livestream concert during the time of covid pandemic. when you buy the online concert you can get different cams to watch. some are zoomed in. some are zoomed out some are mutlicameras to watch them on several cams at a time. i think the video you got is the zoomed in one that is why they seem so close up in this video. but you still got a good video. if you want to know the meaning about the song you can watch --> BTS "Go Go" Explained by a Korean Fan video goes into more detail about the lyrics. have a good day brian

I don't think I've seen this filmed view of this performance - Its really good, nice balance of close ups and zoomed out shots. I love the energy and cheeky attitude they put into these type of songs in the whole performance, the tone in their voices, their expressions and the way they perform the choreography.

I was actually suprised by choise of live... I don't like have reason why I'm so suprised but I would thought about at least 4 different ones to recommend then this one, only bc this is very specific concert, and they had different vibe a little at this concert bc of covid hmm...
About cameras hmm when they stream concert you can buy more expensive ticket and then you watch concert from like 5 different camera at the same time, like you have one on all group then some close ups on few, then one is from side or something. So that is why you have more cameramens that sometimes are cautch in view.
But ahh most important that you liked song 😁 it is fun simple song but with really interesting message.

Ohh actually Suga never said he is weak at dancing, etc, he actually always had quiet high selfesteam with dance, He knew he isn't like dance line level but also he knew he could hold his own but it was also simply not his thing, but it is mostly to his goid feel of rhytme, even tho his shoulder was not helping he was doing great from begining. (also in all this online concert his arm was really giving up on him, He don't show it but after he said that it was worst and worst each concert)... He actually always got moves easly and had quiet good stamina so yeah. Hmm He also worked as backup dancer with Jhope and Jimin shorty after debute, bc they needed money. RM and Jin always were talking that they are weakest hmm but we know they worked hard and are so good now and always were even at the begining you don't really see that there is big difference in experience, they are maybe a little more stiff but you really have to look for it ah... They did great.
Like I said at last video I recommend you to watch Korean fan explenation.

One of my favorite songs and choreo. This camera view was one of 6 for bangbangcon the live, so you don’t get the best view from this one. Please please watch either the comeback or Halloween dance practice. The guys have so much energy when in front of army, where as this was not a live audience. Army actually considers this performance the “sexy” version of GoGo 😂. Halloween is hysterical and an all time fave. You will LOVE it, we promise 😜💜
Amazing how Bts makes you appreciate things that you normally don't bop into, dancing for your case and rap music in my case 💜
Surface level, this is a fun song to dance to..
But when you read the lyrics, this is a harsh commentary on world economics..no matter hoe hard you work, there seems to be no way to ease our financial burden (inflation anyone?), other than our main jobs, we do all sorts of side hustle just to pay for bills..and this starts even before we hit the working class ("we mortgage our future"), students get buried in college debts so they can have a future; and when they became professionals they work hard just to pay for their student debts..what else is left for us?

This is one of those songs which sounds so upbeat and fun but is actually a comment on the plight of young people working and never being able to make enough so they might as well spend it all.
