He asks if Marinette was suggesting just the two of them go ice skating (translation: "you mean.. like a date?"), she denies. She kisses him on the cheek in Mayura and quickly follows it up with a thank you. Not a confession. He understandably takes the kiss as a sign of appreciation for the very kind things he just said about her, instead of romantic feelings. He asks what she really thinks of him in The Puppeteer 2 after he's left utterly confused by Nino. She can't actually tell him for the life of her until the end of the episode. She leaves him and Kagami to eat the ice cream together in Heart Hunter. She calls him a friend about 20 times in the New York special! And then didn't even say anything to him before he left. I don't know, Kagami was aware that Adrien has feelings for Marinette and that Marinette has feelings for Adrien, but they are both oblivious about that. So she decided that Adrien's love is a free estate and she wants to have on her own what was between Adrien and Marinette. But that is not how relationships work and she got jealous and was hurted when learning that lesson.
Adrien do be sending mixed signals since no one really knows he's into Ladybug, I think Kagami misunderstood him being into Marinette in that situation given that he showed more attention to Marinette than herself on their "date".

One thing I noticed at the start of this vid is that the way Adrien is looking to his right when Kagami said “You really like Marinette, do you?”. Even though he said he did not like her as a girlfriend, his face was saying it, if I’m not wrong I think I saw him “I like her” blushing.
I think the reason why Adrien is still in denial is because he’s not scared to act on his feelings like Marinette is. Therefore if Adrien realized his feelings we’d have Adrienette in the same episode and the writers want to milk the love geometry for as long as possible. I think That’s why Adrien hasn’t realized his feelings for Marinette yet.

Can I offer some interesting insight: Adrian is PRETENDING to be dense, because he doesn’t know and how he feels about her. Maybe he’s acting oblivious in order to not mess up the friendship. Or maybe because of his father. Do we not see what happens when they become a thing in the episode Chat Blanc?
Best way to explain it is he is in denial because he thinks he's in love with Ladybug as well as he might be scared about what his father might think. His sense of worth is diminished because of Gabriel, so he goes to the safest option. Kagami AKA replacement for Ladybug since he's self assured that she likes him even though he's not over Ladybug. Season 4 will probably make him realise his feelings for Mari we hope!
In a nutshell, they love each other without knowing this is what makes me come to the conclusion that when the identity is revealed, they will understand why their feelings for each other slowly develop for this awaited moment. There is no one blind. There is no one who cannot differentiate between love and friendship. There is a theory, they say that Adrien does like Mari but he does not feel enough for her, like chat noir yes, that's why every time he has a chance as a chat he flirts trying to impress her, but he refuses to accept what he feels for his love for ladybug and because she was literally one of his first friends at school.

Notice how this umbrella scene played out in the exact same way as the last one, except key differences in how it unfolded … Adrien and Marinette walk out the door to leave, it’s raining, the Gorilla waiting for Adrien at the bottom of the steps. Adrien offers his umbrella, it closed and makes them laugh, then there’s a moment of falling in love and he gets in the car and drives away, Marinette walking home. Then the words, “Those two are made for each other” are said.
But notice the differences, despite the same events playing out.
Adrien and Marinette have switched places. She’s standing in front of him with the umbrella this time, and _she’s_ the one to offer it to him. And instead of the umbrella just closing on her, it closes on _them both._ When Adrien has to leave, instead of friendzoning her and walking away, he is too busy looking at her and bonks his head on the car and _Marinette_ laughs at _him_ first. I don't know, Kagami was aware that Adrien has feelings for Marinette and that Marinette has feelings for Adrien, but they are both oblivious about that. So she decided that Adrien's love is a free estate and she wants to have on her own what was between Adrien and Marinette. But that is not how relationships work and she got jealous and was hurted when learning that lesson.
Adrien do be sending mixed signals since no one really knows he's into Ladybug, I think Kagami misunderstood him being into Marinette in that situation given that he showed more attention to Marinette than herself on their "date".

I think the reason why Adrien is still in denial is because he’s not scared to act on his feelings like Marinette is. Therefore if Adrien realized his feelings we’d have Adrienette in the same episode and the writers want to milk the love geometry for as long as possible. Can I offer some interesting insight: Adrian is PRETENDING to be dense, because he doesn’t know and how he feels about her. Maybe he’s acting oblivious in order to not mess up the friendship. Or maybe because of his father. Do we not see what happens when they become a thing in the episode Chat Blanc?
He also thinks she's a regular person so maybe he's afraid if they start dating she could get hurt.
Best way to explain it is he is in denial because he thinks he's in love with Ladybug as well as he might be scared about what his father might think. His sense of worth is diminished because of Gabriel, so he goes to the safest option. Kagami AKA replacement for Ladybug since he's self assured that she likes him even though he's not over Ladybug. Season 4 will probably make him realise his feelings for Mari we hope!
In a nutshell, they love each other without knowing this is what makes me come to the conclusion that when the identity is revealed, they will understand why their feelings for each other slowly develop for this awaited moment. There is no one blind. There is no one who cannot differentiate between love and friendship. That I think it's just friendship should apply to the feelings of Marinette or Ladybug to the cat too It's almost easy right? ☺️💕✨
