It's safe for dogs, it is made for dogs. It's not human hairspray. This is a show dog, they only do this for shows, not on an every day basis. Show dogs have to look perfect, most shows are 2 days long, as soon as they are done showing, everything gets washed off. They usually shave poodles completely before show to get rid of all of their split ends, then when it is time to show again, the hair grows back perfectly. Most dogs only show for 3-4 years, females have 2 litters then they retire at 4, bad breeders will continue to breed them after this age, a good breeder retires them at 4, or before they are 4. Show dogs are VERY well taken care of, they are fed quality food, they are well bred, they have multiple health and genetic tests done before they breed, they go to the vet often, their teeth are brushed daily, their coat is brushed daily, they use high quality products on them to keep their skin and hair healthy, they take supplements to stay healthy, and a LOT of other things. A quality breeder would not have more than 2 litters for each female. Show dogs have great temperaments. If a dog does not meet the breeders standards, they will retire them before they have a litter. Most breeders keep their retired dogs, others rehome them to great homes after they are spayed/neutered. Most breeders spay/neuter their dogs as soon as they are done breeding. These dogs are NOT treated like a "make money object", they are treated like ROYALTY! A well bred puppy will come from a breeder that shows the parents. Most good breeders have vans to transport their dogs to each show, they have heating and cooling, custom kennels inside of the van, platforms to put the kennels on so they can store their products and food under the kennel for more space, breeders will rent hotels for them and their dogs, they spend THOUSANDS on vet care and grooming, they do a LOT of testing before they breed their dogs, the mothers are checked by a vet throughout their pregnancy and they get ultrasounds, they are usually trained on basic vet care incase an accident happens during birth so they can help them before a vet arrives or before they can go to the vet, THOUSANDS of dollars are spent on these dogs so they can produce high quality puppies and keep their breeds alive. Backyard breeders don't do any of these things, which is why their puppies are a lot cheaper. Since backyard breeders don't do any sort of testing, showing, or anything like that, their puppies are often sick. They don't spend much money or time on their dogs or the puppies, which means they are making a lot of money from each dog. Quality breeders don't make much money at all, and the money they do make goes right back into their dogs. A quality breeder usually only had 1-2 breeds and they only have 1-2 litters per year. Usually puppies are 3,000-6,000 from a good breeder, depending on the breed. If you calculate the cost for gas, car repairs, vet bills, testing, grooming, food, supplements, treats, hotels, and other things, they spend way more than they make on these dogs. A good breeder cares about producing high quality dogs with great health, sometimes their puppies get sick because tests can't predict everything, if the puppies new owners can't care for them, the breeder will ALWAYS take them back if they are a good breeder. A good breeder breeds dogs because they have become emotionally attached to their dogs, they have a passion for keeping their breed healthy. If we didn't have good breeders, there would be way more dogs in shelters, dog breeds would end up with a lot of health issues, dog breeds would go extinct, and a lot of other issues would occur. Mixed breeds like doodles NEVER come from a good breeder. Mixed breeds have more health issues. Never buy a doodle, they have a lot of health issues, and their hair is horrible. Poodles don't shed, they have hair not fur, if you mix them with a breed like a lab that is known for shedding, you end up with a matted monstrosity. No matter how much you brush a doodle, their hair will always get matted which is very painful for dogs, especially when the groomer has to cut their fur short. Sometimes matted hair can't be saved, and removing matts from a breed like a doodle is painful and they can not be saved, so they have to be shaved. Doodles and other mixed breeds from backyard breeders have a shit ton of behavioral problems because their breeders don't care about their temperament, they care about money. If you want a mixed breed, go to the shelter, NOT a breeder. And if you want to talk shit about show dogs, do some basic research first.
