Yes, that one, its a pretty interesting story, the men would dress as these "gods" and when a man came of age they will kidnap him and make him go through test and then they reveal that they (the mature men) are the gods and then he became one of them, this is only for men becaude in past times when women knew this they would abuse their power so men slaughtered all the women that knew this and keep the secret between men. This is more or less the story according to what i know.

The "character that they have for these certain tourist shops" (10:02) comes from a famous 1923 photo of an indigenous man in body decoration personifying a spirit from the mythology of the Selk'nam people, who sadly are also famous for the genocide they suffered during the gold rush in Tierra del Fuego in the late 19th and early 20th century.
I'm going to be there just after new year and I'm so excited! I saw my hotel in this video, lol! One thing I want to do is drive South to visit Fuerte Bulnes and walk to the San Isidro lighthouse.
That’s amazing!!! Hope you have an amazing trip. Definitely visit that lighthouse! And try to make it to puerto natales too! Some amazing hiking up there. Unfortunately we didn’t go but we’re going to try to next time! 🥰
You should have tried pastrys in Punta Arenas and visit the cemetery and the local market where you can try a lot of seafood products. Also in Punta Arenas you can take day trips to see penguins
We will do all those next time!! We didn’t want to pay for penguins in Chile because tours are expensive, but definitely will visit the cemetery next time! 🥰
Something interesting that is never seen in videos of Punta Arenas, and I would assume it's due to the lack of evident Yugoslavic elements regarding its architecture, perhaps except for the main graveyard, is that a huge percentage of Puntarenenses trace their origins back to Croatia, most specifically the geographical region of Dalmatia, and you can still get to experience part of that culture right in Punta Arenas in family social gatherings, folkloric staged performances, and tasting their culinary inheritance; I recommend trying a pastry called hrstole or kroštule. Now, I wanted to bring a controversial topic to the table regarding the native people and their barely acknowledged genocide, but felt like it's out of place, so inform me if you want to hear what I have to say Živjeli!
That makes sense! Sorry we totally forgot about the high elevations in the Andes all throughout the country that would allow for good potato growth. Hope you enjoyed our little video cheers and thanks for watching🥰
😂 you are awesome!!! And yes we are rocking the lingo with a full belly! Because it’s an awesome place to explore. And yeah we’d love to learn more about the Chilean Spanish. Each country really has their own spin on the language

@@WyattandReyka, I understand. You are not alone; colonialism did the same for some of us. I am from Zimbabwe, and we grew up learning and believing David Livingstone discovered Victoria Falls. They had already named it Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke that Thunders."
