My biggest gripe is that trading is centered around you offering a card to a friend instead of asking a friend for a specific card. That’s just not how physical card trading happens. We’d always get together as kids and display our cards, and if someone looked at my cards and wanted my Charizard, I would then look at their cards and see what I wanted in return. Also, I’m fine with trades being between friends, but there should be a “trade board” or something where you could let your friends list know “I want a venusaur EX, trade with me!” And if someone has one to spare they can respond to your board post so they could let you know what they want in return
This was my first thought. Who trades blind? I send them a random card they don’t want and then they send me back a random card I don’t want and rinse and repeat until I throw my phone at the wall.
This is going to turn into Pokémon Home's GTS, where people put up shiny legendaries requesting impossible trades (like Furfrou forms which are glitched and reset form if you transfer them from Bank). So basically, you can flair out your cards and then offer it to that one friend who you want to taunt knowing they probably won't take the trade? Lol.
This is the only sensible comment that’s the biggest issue with trading you can’t actually trade for the cards you want. Pricing is a different talk but the functionality is useless as is
I didn't even think about this. I was too distracted by the absurd over use of restrictions on the trading, I never even thought about how they completely botched the mechanic at it's base. This quite literally can only work with someone you can speak to directly.
I mean, I have the premium pass and I still don’t have enough duplicates to do anything. I can only imagine for those free to play players they’re not gonna be able to trade for months
I prefer something like a market place, where you have a "trade binder" that you put cards in that you want to trade, there's a section where you can list cards you are looking for. Then players can view your trade binder and request a trade and make an offer. Then we can review the offers and accept one.
@@HypocritesExposd Collector: you want my full art Pikachu? Ok *rips 4 spare full art Pikachu* now you must rip up the same number of full art cards before you can make your offer

@shehryarkhann yea (just remove the token (refund all cards used for tokens) and remove the restrictions, people already had or made alts to trade over cards, this just feels like they are giving the middle finger, even let trade be whatever and not required the same rarity, the way it is not, feel like it's not Even in the game anymore, like they just said hey we forgot to add trading here's some trash feature that you probably won't use
Also just tried trading using a low rarity card. I didn't realize that you can only have one trade offer at a time. You're just stuck, unless you terminate the trade, waiting until the other person logs in and either accepts it, rejects it, or the 2 day time limit expires. You can't even make additional offers to other friends up to the remaining stamina that they give you. Their system is so uselessly broken
I would like congratulate the devs for designing such an ingenious trade system. Who would have thought that I need to sacrifice 5 of my full arts in order to exchange for 1 measly EX card!! This is a massive game changing update. I'm fairly certain everyone would love it!
Hats off to the devs for making probably the worst trading system ever. Imagine in real life if we were restricted like this when trading Pokemon cards. Not even pyromaniacs would burn their rare cards just to trade one.
The worst part is they could have been a lot more upfront about how greedy their system would be for trading instead of letting us wait a whole year just to be dissapointed.
That is the core mechanic of the game I thought people knew it’s a game about opening packs and getting random cards at set and transparent odds. That IS THE GANE
@mauriciobori There are two things you are missing: 1. There is battling with deck building, metas, and a competitive scene, while pack opening is a core mechanic many people see the battling as actually playing the game. It is the part where you are actually playing with the cards after all. 2. This is a TRADING card game, trading should be a core mechanic that builds a stronger community in the most ideal circumstances or at least separates it from most gatcha games, it should give you the ability to get a card you need by giving someone else a card they need, maybe making a friend along the way. Pack opening is not the game, it's what you do to play the game.
@@mauriciobori well the game is actually being able to play with other people. That's just part of opening tcg packs. When you trade, you literally offer something for something else that you'd want in return.
Tokens should be removed entirely. Needing stamina is okay, but the idea of having to burn multiples of the SAME KINDS of cards you want to trade is entirely counterproductive. and self-defeating.
Expectation wasn't "high", expectations were straightforward, simple and realistic. Dena Corp are the ones who are "high" when they designed this trade system.
But the thing with promos is they exist to incentivize you playing the game if there was a way to get them outside of the timeline of promos then they would not be promos so by design promos can’t be traded
@@mauriciobori I still don't see why they can't give you the option to trade promo cards with other promo cards as there are chances you could get screwed by rng and now you can't complete your collection.
My biggest issue is not the tokens. They're annoying but for a system that I believe was made to be used a limited fashion, whatever. My issue is that most of the "friends" you make in the game are not real people you can talk to. I have a limited number of real-world people I have befriended in game who I can call up or text to say "hey, I need these cards to complete my collection, do you have any of them and what would you want for them?" That's what we have to do to get the card we want because the system doesn't let us input a requested card. It should be, either globally or across all friends, you put up "looking for XXXX" and people can click your request and offer it to you for something in your collection, then you see several offers come in and the first one you confirm goes through while the rest get canceled.
Yeah shocking, as a free to play player only. I've been playing since release - lvl 33 now and I only managed to get 1100 trade tokens which is basically 2 high rarity cards... Over 3/4 months shocking
How does the other end of the trade look? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the person you're trading with also needs to burn trade tokens right? That's a huge ask. Imagine you top level flair out a Celebi EX and randomly offer it in a trade to a player who added you after a battle. From their perspective, even if they really really wanted it, they'd have to dust literally TONS of cards to accept the trade. Brutal.
AFAIK flair doesn't affect the trade cost since you're trading cards, not flairs. But yeah both players need to have the appropriate amount of tokens to trade. It's real dumb.
Great breakdown, but one major issue I think deserves more focus is how the system forces players to burn high-rarity cards just to get tokens, only to then consume even more tokens for a single trade. That’s just bad design-it discourages trading instead of making it rewarding. While I get that devs want to control rarity and monetization by keeping high-rarity cards mainly obtainable through pack openings, this method feels excessive and punishes players rather than protecting the in-game economy. I personally want rares to stay actually rare, but not at the cost of making trades feel impossible. A randomized trade system like global trade system is the best approach, but it should have a limit or cost, like Wonder Pick, to prevent abuse while keeping it fair. Also, I strongly agree with earning trade tokens through gameplay, but with a reasonable daily or weekly cap to maintain balance. Trading should feel like an actual feature, not a paywall or a punishment for wanting to swap cards.
The easiest and simplest solution, is to remove the trade tokens, just make cards trade for 1 to 1 rarity, restrict card trading to having to have at least 3 of that cards in order to trade 1 of that card and make it level restricted.
That’s what everyone assumed would be the case when they announced it a couple weeks back and praised the devs for allowing 1* cards to be traded. Lmao
I definitely agree on being able to get trade tokens for battles, we need more incentive to battle and actually win. Even just 10 tokens per win would add up a lot.
Why not make the stardust to buy tokens? Honestly no one uses stardust that crazy just for flairs, and also you can't do anything else with the stardust
The only thing I wanted trading for was the secret rare 1* snorlax to get the last achievement for the emblem tickets. I opened pikachu packs for weeks and never saw one. As a free player who's opened my 2 packs every single day, never missing even one, I barely have enough for like, 3 of the "good" trades.
I feel most of us expected them to implement one, maybe two, restrictions on trading, not 6. People talked about them either implementing a rarity lock on trades (only being able to trade cards of the same rarity) or they would put a rarity limit on trading (being unable to trade cards above a certain rarity) to prevent people selling cards, making ult acounts, scamming others, etc. I doubt many people suspected both. We expected them to restrict the trading of promo cards to create a fear of missing out to entice people to join and never leave, that is just a standard of this type of game. We probably should have expected the stamina because everything else except battling (normally) has some kind of stamina, but even amongst those who did I doubt anyone expected the 24hr recharge time. Some people suspected it would involve shinedust in some way, probably because you get so much of it and it only has one use right now, I don't think anyone expected them to add a new resource that you obtaine through burning your cards. To top it all off you can only trade one card at a time, meaning that if you are missing a meta card, you can't try to use quantity to persuade someone to trade you one (I for one am missing a Mewtwo ex but had 4 Marowak and have 5 (1 full art 4 normal) Articuno ex's, even with the rarity lock I still had at least 5 otherwise usless cards to trade off at any ratio to try and get an objectively better card, now I'm just lucky to have a friend who needs an Articuno) Simply put I don't think even the most nailistic of us would have expected them to restrict trading this badly and this harshly.
It's like they came up with a bunch of ideas to counteract toxic use of the trading feature and instead of balancing it or performing any quality control on said ideas, they just used them all.
I think introducing multiple caps make sense But for different rarities Lv 10 for 1 and 2 diamonds 15 for 3 diamonds 20 for 4 diamonds, since it cant be too high as ex cards are part of meta decks. 25+ for 1 star 30 for 2 stats 35+ for crowns. This effectively makes trades useful for deck building early on, and useful for late game players hunting rare cards. Locks out alt accounts from trading high rarity cards.
I've left a 1 star review on the game for now, hopefully others do too. I've been playing for a month, opening my daily packs. I've managed to squabble together 2 relatively playable decks: A celebi serp with exeggutor, and a volcarona moltres deck with rapidash. The only EX card I even have 3 of is marowak. I would have to burn practically the rest of my rare cards to get 1 EX. They missed the mark by a lot. If they just slashed the card burning it would be better but then there is still issues of finding people to actually trade.
@@lordlubu3029It's supposed to make the game playable, even for f2p players that got unlucky pack openings. If you're f2p, you probably can't play at least half of the meta decks, because you're missing a bunch of the most important cards. I've not gotten a single Misty card in two months, for instance. But I've like 10 Major Bobs. Since these cards aren't rare, that's something this trading system could fix. If I can find a trading partner, that is. What it can't fix is that I can't have a try at playing a Starmie-EX deck, because I've no Starmie-EX. I could theoretically trade my two surplus Charizard-EX for two Starmies, but that would require me to destroy pretty much half of all the other rare surplus cards I have, which I would rather keep to trade for something else. I've compiled the list: even if everything was a one for one trade, my surplus would barely be enough to get the 4 and 3 diamond cards i would need to PLAY THE GAME, not even everything I'm missing. And I've been opening packs since November and have piled up 1700 cards...
The worst is that not only do YOU need to burn enough cards to trade exes (you probably wouldnt trade for other cards) , but the person you trade with also needs to. Imagine burning all your cards only to never find anybody to trade the card you need since people will burn that card to trade and they wont be able to trade the card they want and the cycle repeats
What if you have to trade or battle with friends to like level up friendship and have the ability to trade rarer cards. I think pokémon go does something like this and I think it would be fair
It's really bad! Like, i need to burn through like, 20 3 diamonds, 4 ex 4 diamonds or 5 1 star to trade for something. I don't need anything 1 star and below atm, but for the ppl who need it, how will they burn through that? Just to get 1 decent card? Damn, they messed this up reaaaally bad.
I had very low expectations on the trading feature (although its a TRADING card game) but it makes logic that they would try to protect abuse of the system + keep feeding the paid RNG of the game. But as you say this doesn't make sense either if you are a free to play (because you can't have enough cards and tokens) and if you are a whale and have all that you cannot get high rarety cards (which probably a whale will have). My fix would be more tokens from the cards that are "burned", less token required for the trade and combined with the proposed token reward for every (won) battle, would make things much easier, but also keep in live people from selling or using bot alt accounts.
Thing is I was looking forward to this so I can possibly trade with someone to finish the first set. I just need the normal Articuno, and Weezing that's all because I couldn't pull them, but first, as mentioned by you, I have to burn cards that I'm not a baller already so that's just crazy, and what do I do then? I throw a Gardevoir out there but no one knows I'm looking for Articuno or Weezing. The fact that opening daily packs for the last week and most of them are just two diamonds, it's like smack in the face smh
I can fully understand that we need some restrictions, so people get animated going pay2win and that the full art's should be kinda hard getting them. But trading in this form they released is a DISGRACE
you got the answer Sway !!! Giving tokens for each battle won is the only way for them to fix the issue without having to walk back what they’ve implemented today, thus saving face in front of everyone. They would be lucky to come across this video and find the solution to their problem for free on TH-cam. You've done the work for them
I agree with the random trade. Like, add your desired card in a "list" attaching your offers so, when someone is looking for your desired card they will see the cards you can offer and if they had the card you want AND want some of the cards you offer, they pick one and bum! Trade done at random I thought it was going to be like that
To be fair, I don't think it's possible to put a trading function in a digital card game that wouldn't be abused and immediately destroy the game. The fact that we even got this is astounding. I think the issue is people are expecting trading to be a replacement for pack opening. Like "oh I can get cards through packs or trading" when that isn't the case. The main way to get cards is still pack opening with your free packs / wonder picks. Trading is kinda best viewed as a "sparking" system (for those familiar with gacha) it's meant to be a very rare reward that you can use after MONTHS of saving up to guarantee you get something you really want. When you start viewing the trade system as a sparking system and not a replacement for packs it makes more sense.
We need trade binders where people can just look at our binder and offer us trades. They already even have a binder tab setup, but only for looking.......
All of the change suggestions are great, far better than what we currently have. Even a pokemon go style friendship level discount over time could be good. No burning cards, wait & be patient for your trade, or pay a much higher cost to do it sooner. With the suggestion of earning trade tokens through battle this could be quite good.
What kills me is you can't even select the card you want. So it's basically just taking a shot in the dark to get what you want. It's the most hilariously bad system they could've possibly come up with.
I am in agreeance. The initial points would have been enough, making the higher rarity card trades have to consume more just like wonder pick. They still could have monetization through using poke gold to refresh your timers.
I actually like the anonymous/wonder trade idea. I feel like that would make it so much better. Yes it would be a bummer to not be able to trade with friends but over all the wonder trade is best for searching for that you need and preventing most of the major worries.
Trading helped me quickly get the last 4 cards to get immersive mew. That’s it. I’m missing a couple 4 diamond cards and I don’t have enough 1 star and stuff to burn to make it worth while to get them.
Just make it time gated/energy only. 1 and 2 diamonds: once every 12-24 hours/1 energy 3 diamonds: once every 24-48 hours/2 energy 4 diamonds: once every 48-96 hours/4 energy 1 Star: once every 36-72 hours/3 energy The idea of randomized trading partners only is also neat. There needs to be a system that doesn't rely on just randomly offering people on your friend list some cards and hoping you get back what you need. There should be "automatic" (batch) trading. You select one/a number of different cards you are willing to offer and one/a number of different cards you want to get. When there's a match, the trade just happens in the background.
This is a strategy most, if not all mobile games companies do, they'll implement an outrageous new update (examples: a very bad new feature, an unattainable resource, nerf rewards...). They do this to gauge the players and community's reaction (and bottom line), and after pretend to take a step back and make 'better adjustments' (their true intentions), which makes it seem like they listen to the player base's demands, making the later happy. We're simply being blindsided and under false pretense that they'll ever listen to our suggestions.
GTS Style sounds pretty good to me. If not that, I am hoping we get a reasonable amout of tokens through the pass / events until they adjust the system. Heck put like 10 or 15 tokens as daily log in bonus
Honestly, I’m also kind of aggravated that it’s only trade with friends. You can’t even communicate with people who are friends in the game to maybe ASK if they have a certain card to trade. You can literally only know someone IRL and hope they have a card. Most of my friends in this game are people I’ve added from show cases or from battles. But yet I still can’t ask for a card or ask if they have a card they are searching for. That with the token issue, makes trading LITERALLY a 1/10. A 1 because they at least have “trading” in the game.
Counterpoint: if you can grind 10 hours for a trade, then it makes it feel like the optimal way to play is grind, and it makes the whole game feel inaccessible. If the optimal way to play is grinding for 10 hours, it makes the game feel like a massive time sink. It’s like if Animal Crossing purposely let you pay off your debt day 1.
I can say the same for Pokemon TCG Live where is the trade its been years and years no trade, It would have been nice if they include the Trade Points in the vs matches if you win you get specific number of Trade Points
ideally, i’d want both a trading marketplace where you can put up a card in request for a specific card that’s around the same value in addition with the wondertrade feature. getting exclusively wonder trading would not be a good fix
I get that the token system is to prevent people from creating new accounts and rerolling until they get what they want to trade with, but they need to add a way to grind tokens consistently trough battles
I'm a free to play player and the trade feature helped me complete my collection. It's expensive and I had to burn all my duplicates but I had enough duplicates to trade 4 3-diamond rarity cards and 1 ex pokemon and I have some left over. Trading could be better but I'm glad we got it at all.
This trade feature is wild lol, idk what they were thinking. They at least need to ad some sort of chat/message feature so you can arrange a trade with friends beforehand. Even with that i dont know who this feature currently helps either. If it went at least to 2 star i could see some use in it.
6:56 My guy describes a rarity locked wonder trading and calls it GTS. GTS would be putting up a card you have for a card you want to trade it for and giving anyone with the card you are asking for the ability to take that trade. It would be a good system but would probably be more work than they are willing to put in.
On question of "who is this for?" - it's for F2P players who just need a few cards to complete their collections or who need a specific card to complete a meta deck. Simple enough.
1. There’s no community trading post which encourages A lot of steps to trade outside the normal game. Just make a wish list on what cards you are willing to trade for and your friends can see your blinder and send you requests. 2. Tokens you can’t dissemble 1, 2 Diamonds
Make tokens mission rewards and rewards for playing/winning matches and the card-burning issue becomes a non-issue, easy. Maybe make a weekly cap for how many tokens you can earn through battles if you want to keep some amount of gating in there for whatever balance/financial reasons. What I'd like is a marketplace similar to the GTS from the mainline Pokemon games where players can offer and request trades, put up 1 or more cards on offer for another card. Maybe make it so that you can only request cards of equal or lower rarity compared to what you put up in exchange to prevent the market from being flooded by people offering 1-diamond cards in exchange for crown rares.
They definitely need to at LEAST buff everything by like x2 (Halve the time it takes to regain a trade token, and double the amount of tokens you get from any card-burn). I like the idea of giving people tokens for battling. But I wonder how they would stop people from getting conceded (win trading)
Guys, what do you expect? They have to make trading hard or not people will just create multiple new accounts and even bots to open packs and send cards to their main account. Not to mention rampant RMT. They arent going to make money anymore if people just trade with their own alts...
Literally the dumbest thing is not being able to exchange dupes of two diamonds or lower. Everybody has a stupid amount of one or two diamond cards and being able to turn them into tokens would be HUGE. That's probably my biggest gripe about the whole thing. That and the token system even existing.
im playing this game for back 3 months... and hoping that trading will complete some of my decks. im looking for.. but now i have to use some of my hour glasses on genetic apex again lol.
They just need to have it be that trading up cost tokens(or energy), trading even cost nothing. It's not that complex. If you want a GTS system you could make the person listing the trade require tokens, while the person filling the request just uses energy.
honestly: quick math--> I exchange 1 ex pokemon for trading tokens i get 125 tokens, which is 1/4 of the tokens required to trade an ex (500 tokens), same thing for 1 star full art where the proportion is 100-400; so what they wanted to do is to make a system that gives the possibility to trade cards during long period of time (cause u can get tokens from future event ecc and u can farm them slowly getting duplicates of cards) and obviously they didn't want to create a system that gives the possbility to trade istantly all the cards that u want which would lead to demonetization for the the game; example I still need somthing like 11 holos (and 2 ex's) from GA, I can slowly farm tokens from duplicates and from future events and finish the set, so honestly it's a bit too expensive but not so bad.
if someone has more than 5 ex of the same card and it is free to play, it means that they have immense bad luck, therefore they are missing a lot of cards but they can only trade for one
I was looking forward to trading for 3 more regular Charizard to get the profile pic. then I promptly gave up, when I saw the token cost. idk who this feature is for. is it for the whales? no, they probably have all the cards they need and a bunch of high rarity duplicates. is it for the f2p players or players that spend a small amount of money? no, they probably don't have enough duplicates to turn into tokens.
I would like that you must have at least 2 of one card to trade it with someone, then if it is 1,2 diamonds you spend 1 stamina, if it is 3 two stamina, if it is 4, 5 you spend 5 stamina, and you keep the stamina 1 per 24 hours, that way you can only trade ex every 5 days that should limit it enough.
there is a niche use for this feature (as a low paying player) there was a few holes in my set and used it with my friend to just complete that section ik this is a super niche use but it helped me ig
Here is how I fix trading 1. Let us burn Multiple copies at the same time 2. Let us Burn 1-2 Diamonds... give us 5-10 Tokens 3. Currently 3D trades at a 6 for 1 ratio, 1S and 4D trade at 5 for 1. This number should be no more than 4 for 1. I think 3 for 1 is safe 4. stardust -> trade token conversion, they give you a lot of stardust, and unless you care about flair, it is going to waste 2 shop ticket + 10k stardust gives you 10 Trade tokens Limit 20 a month. 5. Stamina cool down. I've said this about wonder pick, and I doubly mean it here, this should be 12 hour max. and 6 might be safe. I understand they want to protect monetization, but one of the things that can encourage non-spenders to spend, and to encourage spenders to spend a bit more is if trading combined with pack points are a viable "meet half way" with ripping packs to completing a set.
I do like tokens for battle participation. points scored gets 10, winner gets bonus 30. this will eliminate feelbads for bricking up, while still not rewarding people for joining battle and conceding.

@@mauriciobori well the game is actually being able to play with other people. That's just part of opening tcg packs. When you trade, you literally offer something for something else that you'd want in return.
@@mauriciobori the only reason there even is a trading mechanic is so they don't have to legally change the name of the app, then
My solution: Take away the tokens, keep the stamina
At least make them 1 for 1, destroying an ex should give enough coins to trade another ex etc.
@RhydderchZX I want to be able to trade like in the main-line games.
Or instead of token, we get to use the shinedust
@@RhydderchZX I think this is the most fair. Atleast then you are removing 2 EX cards to get 1 back instead of 5!
What stops me to make like a bunch of accounts and trade myself whatever I got then?
Tokens should be removed entirely. Needing stamina is okay, but the idea of having to burn multiples of the SAME KINDS of cards you want to trade is entirely counterproductive. and self-defeating.
Expectation wasn't "high", expectations were straightforward, simple and realistic. Dena Corp are the ones who are "high" when they designed this trade system.
Besides the currency aspect, the inability to trade promos is a major issue. Many of us wanted the promo Jigglypuff.
So bummed on how this was implemented. Hoping they listen to the community!
Everyone needs to tell them to allow us to share our wish lists.
I’m so annoyed by the trade feature I cancelled my premium.
Up
Same
They’ll never get over it poor pokemknn company
Can't believe I have to give up stuff to trade. I'm basically making a loss with each trade.
Lmao
not another one of those smh. Dude, that system ALSO sucks and would not work.
@@SporeVenom my guy that system 100% works, it only doesn't work for people who are trying to get something for nothing lmao
I definitely agree on being able to get trade tokens for battles, we need more incentive to battle and actually win. Even just 10 tokens per win would add up a lot.
I wish. but even if they would give us some tokens per win, best case scenario they will give 2 per win with a 5 win cap or something....
I wanted some form of wonder trading.
Also, some way to ask for specific cards would be nice.
To top it all off you can only trade one card at a time, meaning that if you are missing a meta card, you can't try to use quantity to persuade someone to trade you one (I for one am missing a Mewtwo ex but had 4 Marowak and have 5 (1 full art 4 normal) Articuno ex's, even with the rarity lock I still had at least 5 otherwise usless cards to trade off at any ratio to try and get an objectively better card, now I'm just lucky to have a friend who needs an Articuno)
Simply put I don't think even the most nailistic of us would have expected them to restrict trading this badly and this harshly.
It's like they came up with a bunch of ideas to counteract toxic use of the trading feature and instead of balancing it or performing any quality control on said ideas, they just used them all.
I think introducing multiple caps make sense
But for different rarities
Lv 10 for 1 and 2 diamonds
15 for 3 diamonds
20 for 4 diamonds, since it cant be too high as ex cards are part of meta decks.
25+ for 1 star
30 for 2 stats
35+ for crowns.
People were expecting way too much from trading, it's fine as it is, it's not supposed to replace pack opening
@@lordlubu3029 bro its literally called 'trading card game pocket'
@@lordlubu3029 PTCGP "trading" is the hearthstone crafting system with additional painful and annoying steps and more restrictions.
Imagine burning all your cards only to never find anybody to trade the card you need since people will burn that card to trade and they wont be able to trade the card they want and the cycle repeats
trade anonymous idea is good. like a free market auction market. DENA please hire this guy.
Damn, they messed this up reaaaally bad.
the fact that you can't use the most common cards to get itens is crazy. people have 20-30 Rattata but you can't use them for nothing 💀
I don’t know if I’m overreacting or not but I don’t think I’ll ever actually use trading in this game. It just seems so bad
Personally as a person, you made a point.
They wanna have trade stamina? Fine. But they want me to burn cards too?? piss 100% off. I'm not trading until this is fixed.
Even a global friends list trading system, that I have to individually trade with each individual friend, and see if they want what I trade is insane
Imagine if in the core series, you'd have to release pokemon before you can trade.
“Personally as a person” - Xatumi
Trade done at random
I thought it was going to be like that
To be fair, I don't think it's possible to put a trading function in a digital card game that wouldn't be abused and immediately destroy the game.
Thank you for calling it out as a problem. A content creator talking about the issue is so important.
I just want a way to tell the other person what card I want please, without having to look at their profile/discord
i‘m pretty sure there will be lots of ways to recieve trade currency through missions or mass outbreak events so the high costs will ease out a bit.
What kills me is you can't even select the card you want. So it's basically just taking a shot in the dark to get what you want. It's the most hilariously bad system they could've possibly come up with.
You’re exactly right with that question…”Who is this for?” It’s horribly designed and benefits no one.
I am in agreeance. The initial points would have been enough, making the higher rarity card trades have to consume more just like wonder pick. They still could have monetization through using poke gold to refresh your timers.
Random trade is an awesome idea. Would love that, with an option to choose to trade for cards of a different language.
First this and then Dialga immersive is ugly. What is happening bro.
Simplest thing they can do is increase the amount of tokens you get for burning your cards. Burning an ex should allow you to trade for an ex
That would be too easy to abuse, people would finish sets in minutes lol. Trading is not meant to be a replacement for pack opening and wonder picks
@ why is that a problem? All the chase cards are already locked. Regular ex cards are mainly just for deck building
Just make it time gated/energy only.
1 and 2 diamonds: once every 12-24 hours/1 energy
3 diamonds: once every 24-48 hours/2 energy
4 diamonds: once every 48-96 hours/4 energy
1 Star: once every 36-72 hours/3 energy
The idea of randomized trading partners only is also neat.
When trading, if you only have one of a card can you still trade it or do you need an extra one beyond the two for a set?
It’s the fact you can only trade with friends and also if your looking for a certain card it’s next to impossible because you can’t say what you want
I can say the same for Pokemon TCG Live where is the trade its been years and years no trade, It would have been nice if they include the Trade Points in the vs matches if you win you get specific number of Trade Points
At least with this game, we get a trading feature that no one should or will use!
Tokens from battles is genius, I want the devs TCG pocket to see this
ideally, i’d want both a trading marketplace where you can put up a card in request for a specific card that’s around the same value in addition with the wondertrade feature. getting exclusively wonder trading would not be a good fix
They could solve the problem with knowing what the other person wants by allowing both to see eachother's wishlist
Both sides have to have the trade coins? As a f2p from launch only using this to get meta exs gardos ex and Charizard ex
This trade feature is wild lol, idk what they were thinking. They at least need to ad some sort of chat/message feature so you can arrange a trade with friends beforehand. Even with that i dont know who this feature currently helps either. If it went at least to 2 star i could see some use in it.
Everyone leave a 1 star review in the app store and let your voices be heard. The trading is completely terrible and it's made for literally no one.
Its for me and my wife who were able to complete our carddex.
They definitely need to at LEAST buff everything by like x2
(Halve the time it takes to regain a trade token, and double the amount of tokens you get from any card-burn).
That and the token system even existing.
im playing this game for back 3 months... and hoping that trading will complete some of my decks. im looking for.. but now i have to use some of my hour glasses on genetic apex again lol.
instead of trading.. buying pokegold for your friend is a better alternative. 😆
I like the battle for trade tokens idea
Yeah, I much preferred. The idea of anonymous trading just ask for what you want and offer what you’re offering and wait.
Even just doing this:
Burn 1 💎 - 1 token
Burn 2 💎- 10 tokens
Even this would be an outstanding upgrade
if someone has more than 5 ex of the same card and it is free to play, it means that they have immense bad luck, therefore they are missing a lot of cards but they can only trade for one
That was a smart idea. GTS and you trade based off the rarity literally golden plan.
I mean did they change the more then 15 points for a win on battles ? It's bad
We just need to let it ride. They’ll tweak stuff. Just be patient.
God, thank you, finally someone that speaks the truth. Thank you for not being a boot-licker.
I cant even be arsed with it. Too many hoops to jump through
there is a niche use for this feature (as a low paying player) there was a few holes in my set and used it with my friend to just complete that section ik this is a super niche use but it helped me ig
Trading the 1 and 2 diamond cards is so fun, but why did they have to complicate things so much for the higher rarity cards?
Here is how I fix trading
1. Let us burn Multiple copies at the same time
2. Let us Burn 1-2 Diamonds... give us 5-10 Tokens
3. Currently 3D trades at a 6 for 1 ratio, 1S and 4D trade at 5 for 1. This number should be no more than 4 for 1. I think 3 for 1 is safe
4. stardust -> trade token conversion, they give you a lot of stardust, and unless you care about flair, it is going to waste 2 shop ticket + 10k stardust gives you 10 Trade tokens Limit 20 a month.
5. Stamina cool down. I've said this about wonder pick, and I doubly mean it here, this should be 12 hour max. and 6 might be safe.
I understand they want to protect monetization, but one of the things that can encourage non-spenders to spend, and to encourage spenders to spend a bit more is if trading combined with pack points are a viable "meet half way" with ripping packs to completing a set.
to counteract 1-2 giving dust let them cost 50 in a trade.
I do like tokens for battle participation. points scored gets 10, winner gets bonus 30. this will eliminate feelbads for bricking up, while still not rewarding people for joining battle and conceding.
Card request or access to wishlist would be great.
