WFS 2019 - How AZ Alkmaar Became One of Europe’s Best Talent Factories Using Data

In the past 10 years, AZ Alkmaar has become a club in which every year top talent is produced. Last season, 50 percent of all official minutes were played by home grown players. The average age at which those players were scouted is 12 years. This is partly because AZ uses facts and data to create an objective picture of a player's performance and development, leaving bias and preferences aside. In this presentation, Marijn Beuker shares data about how AZ works in predicting potential and how performance is managed in SoccerLAB.
